The crew had our house done in a single day. They were very respectful and went above and beyond to help move furniture. I even saw them scoop dog poop in my yard which was an unexpected but welcomed bonus! Their commitment to service and doing the job right is obvious from the first meeting. Neil and his team promised that I’d be blown away with how much warmer my house would feel. I was a little skeptical but knew something would be better than nothing. My home was built in 1957 and had zero insulation in the walls. I noticed a difference the first night. First thing I discovered was the furnace wasn’t running all evening to keep the house warm. The next morning I was even more blown away by the way my home now keeps the heat in. I always turn the heat down to 62 at night and the furnace still runs at night. I woke up and the thermostat said 64 degrees. Not only is my home warmer but it’s going to save a tremendous amount of money with my gas bills in the winter. So happy!

Our house was built in 1919 and needed to be insulated. I got ahold of Washington RetroFoam and was delighted with everything they did. When they came to do the walkthrough I was informed of a couple money saving offers. I gave them a copy of my PSE bill and they filed the paperwork work for that one. Since our house is so old, asbestos siding under the new vinyl siding, they had to install from inside the house. On the morning of the foam-in, they arrived on time and they worked like a well rehearsed unit. It was reassuring to see that each worker knew their assignment and they performed it well. We do have to do some work in a couple days after it’s all dry and set, to paint the holes the foam was inserted through the walls. I know this we’ll be feeling the benefits of the installation this winter and upcoming summer. It was a good experience and will recommend Washington RetroFoam to anyone looking for this type of need.

In-wall foam insulation was installed. Job was scheduled promptly and went smoothly, completed in a few hours, with site cleaned up before departure.

I was referred to Washington Retrofoam after another insulation company found they could not perform the service in my unusual situation. These guys thought they might be able to so they came out, took a look, and unfortunately found out their product wasn't suitable either. Yet even though I wouldn't be able to use them for this job, they offered to keep an eye out for solutions that other companies might provide that would work. This level of customer service for someone they weren't able to get money from absolutely seals it that when I do have a suitable job, they will be who I go to, or if I can refer someone to them, I unequivocally will. And had they been able to, I was thoroughly pleased with the quoted price, the availability of service times, and the communication.

Had my exterior wall insulation upgraded with Washington Retrofoam. They expertly remove a single row of siding, and then inject a non-toxic, non-flammable foam through small holes in the sheathing filling the space between studs from floor to ceiling. It pushes any old insulation out of the way and gets into all the nooks and crannys well. They then replace the siding, adding sealant as necessary and after about 24 hours the insulation is fully cured. The temp is much more even inside now and I especially noticed the road noise from 405 is much reduced. You might find some foam coming thru small gaps in your sheet rock or around electrical fixtures but once it is cured it is easy to tidy up and now those drafty gaps are sealed up. There are federal, state, and PSE credits/rebates making the cost very affordable. It is also quick, taking about half a day for my single level house. Hope this helps anyone considering this service and product.

Neil and his team helped insulate our split-level home, and it has worked wonders!! Neil helped explain every step of the process and the installation went smoothly. In just less than one day his team came and helped insulate all of our empty walls, and we have noticed a HUGE difference already. Would highly recommend doing this service to prepare your home for the winter weather, we are so glad we did!

I was very disappointed with my RetroFoam experience. During the sales pitch, I was told the foam could be installed even if insulation was already in the walls and that it was superior to fiberglass. I also made it clear my house had just been painted, and was reassured the crew would be careful and I’d only need minor touch-ups. On installation day, I was told they wouldn’t fill cavities that already had insulation—contradicting what their own videos and rep had promised. In the end, only about one-third of my walls were actually foamed, so I can’t even speak to the performance of the product in the majority of the house. The workmanship was poor. Boards were reinstalled without proper caulking, and where caulk was used, it was smeared across surfaces, leaving a mess I had to fix myself. When I sent photos, Neil admitted the quality was unacceptable and offered either a refund or to send someone back. Since I had already done the cleanup, I chose the refund. After that, he stopped responding. Overall, the promises did not match the results, the finish work was sloppy, and follow-up was unprofessional. I cannot recommend this company. Attached is a photo showing smeared caulk and prints still visible after trying to clean the wall. This was on 80% of the boards they reinstalled and calked.

Hire this team with confidence!!! AMAZING overall experience from initial contact to job completion: top notch communication, extremely professional and personable crew, excellent work. Final price was exactly as stated in first quote, job was performed with efficiency and great attention to detail. Oh, and btw: THIS STUFF WORKS WONDERS!!! We noticed a difference in how our house maintained a steady temp within hours of the work being completed. Cannot say enough good stuff about this company and what they offer. We just had our home retro phones today by Washington retro foam I have to say the crew lead was absolutely amazing he kept in touch with us through the entire process for me getting to end the crew that showed up got here at 9:30 and left by 2:40 p.m. they were fantastic fast they cleaned up after themselves pressure washed the house they did such a great job I could not recommend them enough if you're looking to have your house reinsulated or maybe you're working on a new project please give these guys a call it's non-toxic biodegradable you smell nothing there's no off gas scene and the service is impeccable

It is rare that you find a contractor that has the integrity to stop a project that isn't needed. The Washington RetroFoam crew drove 2 hours to my home in Bremerton and once they started the project, they showed me that my walls didn't actually need their insulation foam. Other contractors would have done it anyway and charged me for it. As the owner Neil said to me, "That's not how we roll." You can trust these guys. They reinstalled my siding and left no-trace.

Neil and his crew shared with me that I had adequate insulation around my house after they took off a couple of siding pieces. Neil also refunded half of my deposit and we agreed the other half should go for gas for the trip to my home. Neil is an honest entrepreneur.

My wife was always complaining about how cold the first floor was during the cold months. I saw the ads and after having other companies refuse the work without tearing out walls, I called Washington Retrofoam. I had a bid within 2 days and the work was completed within 3 days of the bid. The crew were extremely nice, worked very quickly, cleaned up afterwards and the job was done in just over 3 hours. Great crew and I am one happy customer. Can't even tell they were here.

Quick and professional job adding insulation to our 1951 home. Because of our brick exterior they had to work inside the house, which required some more work on our end (moving furniture away from the walls) but was relatively painless.

Had them do insulation on an addition to an old house. It made the room much more comfortable. The cost was very reasonable and they completed the work very quickly. We had them go thru the inside because we were due for new paint anyway and we had board and baton siding. We were told that finishing the drywall was not part of the bid, and we would have paid more if they offered that service. Over all very pleased. Trying to spread the word!

The team had their whole process nailed down which made the whole experience go quick. I was happy to see that they were able to carefully remove our cedar siding to drill holes and then reinstall the siding as if it was never removed. Other blow-in/injection companies were going to drill straight through the siding which would have been fine but require more work on the home owner to caulk and repaint. There were some minor plant damages but that was expected since we have our whole yard landscaped and there was no way to move the plants. Overall, great work and glad our house is now insulated 😬

I was preparing to reside my house and decided to check out RetroFoam to see if it’s worth it. I’m so happy I did - noticeably warmer and feels quieter! It’s been freezing in our bedroom since October, and last night it was actually warm inside without the heater constantly running and it was in the mid 30s outside! Below the bedroom is a half-converted garage that had no insulation, and I believe doing retrofoam is much cheaper (and less time consuming/messy/hectic) than taking down the finished walls to put in new insulation. With the tax credit it’s quite affordable. We only did the back of the house this time but I’ll definitely be doing the other half of the house later on. Some foam did come through the wall heaters and leak inside because the heaters weren’t installed properly, but the crew helped clean up and it was no problem.

Technology is sound, price is good, but the team that worked on my site did somewhat sloppy job Pros: - I think it works. Don’t have data to back it up but the house feels warmer - priced reasonably - nice interactions with an office, scheduling, etc (thanks Chris) Cons: I’m now watching other pictures and it looks like different teams have different techniques (ex., using sheeting to collect trash). I have an impression that my team was in a rush: - they left trash behind. Some they collected into the bucket but then they left the bucket! They even left a bag with unused wall caps. - one piece of a wall siding was not screwed back and felt off - on another one, a screw was only screwed halfway way and the head was stripped Would I do it again if I have to? Yes I would. But I would check that there is no trash left around the property and all the siding pieces are mounted back properly

Washington RetroFoam provided a great service insulating the exterior walls of our 1946 brick home which had no wall insulation at all. Their method is cosmetically easy to cover with minimal interior finish work. Besides the great service they provided we received other very helpful insulation advice which we followed regarding our attic and roof insulation. We look forward to moving into our freshly remodeled and updated home soon and expect more efficient and comfortable heating and cooling from our newly insulated exterior walls. Great service with friendly and professional employees! Our Cinderblock house had no insulation and they were able to injector foam into the exterior walls quickly and cleanly. They even filed paperwork with the IRS for our tax credit or 2023! We have only had one utility bill since, and our use was down 40% from last year. The real test will be in the winter, but it's likely the savings will pay for the work within a year!

Chris and the team have done an excellent job in our house. I could never ask for a better contractor, from initial inquiry to following up on us, they have been very helpful. Our old house has been giving us uncomfortable summers and awful winters. Since we have young kids and on a budget, tearing off the walls and putting insulation werent options so when we I searched and found RetroFoam, my problem was answered. The pricing was reasonable and I would say WORTH IT now that we have a very comfortable home during this summer, plus it truly lessend the sound of planes passing by--we live in Des Moines. When we had an electricity issue days after the insulation was done, we thought it could have been from the foaming, Chris didnt even hesitate to go back (ASAP) and check it with his crew. He even had an electrician come by to check the safety of the house (ending, it was our lines inside the house that had an issue). Again, we only can say good things about their service! Quick and clean, left my house looking just like they'd found it. Better, actually, because they really went above and beyond by fixing some pre-existing siding damage! Also, they sent me easy-to-follow instructions on how to claim an insulation-related tax credit that I hadn't even been aware of. 10/10, will definitely call them again if I somehow end up with another uninsulated house in the future.

We had a great experience with Retro foam! Everyone we worked with was kind a courteous. They installed foam to our 1960's home with cedar siding. They worked pretty quick and did a good job cleaning up after themselves. We've noticed a huge difference inside, our house stays warm much much longer and we've already noticed a drop in our heating bill.

Overall a great experience. Very professional, great communication and on time. Only complaint was they could’ve cleaned up a bit better. Lots of debris left around the perimeter of the house. We had a couple walls that couldn’t be done from the outside so they went through the drywall inside. They plug the holes then use drywall mud to cover but they put it on so thick it cracked during drying. Basically had to sand off most of what they did, re-mud and paint. I expected to have to do some light sanding and touch up paint but this was a pretty sloppy on their part. I’d advise to let them plug the holes but mud it yourself or hire a drywall/painter to do the finishing. As for the insulation the house is much less drafty, a bit quieter and seems to hold heat better so far. Definitely curious to see the difference in utility bills next winter.

I have an older house with little to no insulation in the walls. With the cold nights and windy days in the week + since they inserted foam insulation in my walls, I have a noticable difference in comfort level and how drafty our house felt. They took extra efforts to minimize hopes in the siding. I would recommend them to anyone needing insulation upgrades in existing walls.

RetroFoam seems great so far. The owner/estimater, Chris, was polite and informative about the whole injection foam process. The crew came and were gone in about 2 hours. They introduced themselves and went right to work. No time wasted. With my vinyl siding you can't even tell where they drilled and filled. So far...we love it!

Washington Retrofoam showed up 15 minutes early (and if you’re prior military, you know 15 minutes prior is on time) and we’re professional as could be. They walked through the project with me, and answered any last minute questions I had. They performed the work quickly and efficiently, and cleaned up well after themselves. The wall insulation install was done professionally. One of the siding planks was lifted and reinstalled after injecting the foam. Can’t see any holes. The staff was very friendly. Only regret I have is that I should have done it sooner. Definitely feels warmer inside. Good job.

This company did everything right. They responded to my inquiry promptly and addressed any questions I had as well as giving me a detailed description of their services and process. Within a few days they came to my house and provided me with a firm bid for the work. They cost is very reasonable. I put down a deposit on the spot and they scheduled me for a week later. They communicated confirmation of the appointment days prior to showing up. They arrived on time on the scheduled date and completed the work between 9 AM and 3 PM, exactly as they told me they would. They answered my questions during the process, completed the work and left my property clean. The difference in my house was immediate. My furnace cycles less often and the chill is out of the air in my home. The home is a '67 split level and had little or no insulation. It's too early to quantify any savings in my heating bill since the insulation was installed less than a week ago, but I have to imagine that the results will be positive. I am an Architect and have been in the local homebuilding industry since 1989. I have already recommended this company to four of my friend/coworker circle who have homes the same vintage as mine and I will continue to recommend them.

You know, when someone says they are going to drill dozens of holes into the outside of my vintage cedar slat 1954 home that was recently repainted in a remodel (without good insulation), I hesitate for a minute. Don't hesitate with these guys. They knew exactly what they were doing, and did a great job of it. Communication was top notch. They didn't hesitate to answer the tough questions. I felt like they were honest about what to expect for results, and the results matched my expectations. I also think they were reasonably priced. I decided to use Washington RetroFoam to help primarily with sound reduction on a busy street corner. Andy was quick to assure me that I would experience sound reduction, but not sound cancelation. We talked through the difference, and in the end I got exactly what I was expecting. Probably around 40% sound reduction and the benefit of more energy efficiency. Thanks to Chris, Andy and their crew, I can not only sleep better at night because it's quieter, but also because I know I'm saving $ when I do. One thing I would like to pass on is a patch tip for those pesky plugs. My handyman came over the next day and started by belt sanding all of them just enough to guarantee they were flush. Then he blew out the gap around the plugs. Lastly he put a layer of silicone sealant over the whole plug and used a damp rag to wipe over the sealant to create some texture to match the cedar boards. By the time he got to the last plug the first one was dry enough to paint. He finished the whole job in less than five hours and made those plugs disappear. No kidding. If I didn't know where they were before, I'd never know now.

Every old house should do this. We were surprised to see how little insulation was in the walls of our 1959 home.

I was so impressed with Washington RetroFoam. The costs were less than we expected and they did the whole house within six hours. We were concerned about the plugs showing, but after a little touch up with wood filler (Elmers exterior/interior) and an orbital sander you can't see them at all. You could probably find one or two by scrutinizing close up, but from five feet or more they're completely invisible. I should've done this ten years ago.

Washington RetroFoam was overall very easy to work with. They quoted me a price Tuesday, we negotiated a bit on Wednesday and they were able to install on Thursday. Overall very satisfied with the quality of the product and improvement to our home's comfort. Only major reason for a 4-star instead of 5 is that the 'finish' work to sand / touch-up the holes drilled is significantly more than advertised as almost none of the plugs inserted into our siding were actually flush with the siding hence the lower rating (I've probably spent 15+ hours so far just in sanding). Inspect these closely when your job is done as it may cost you a lot of time as well.
