Reviews
Very knowledgeable soundproofing experts. Honest businessman who work hard!
Lee did a fantastic job simply talking through the issues I was having living near a busy street. Instead of launching into a sales pitch, he was refreshingly honest and actually convinced me that I didn’t need any expensive treatment for noise abatement. He even suggested cheaper, practical ways to mask the noise. Leaving a 5-star review just for that level of integrity and helpfulness.
Lee worked on our 100yr old, street facing bedroom windows. He was punctual and clearly walked us through our options. The difference pre and post is huge and we are very happy with the results. The team he works with is highly respectful of the property and ensures a very high quality of work. We are very pleased and will be scoping projects for additional rooms in the house as well with Lee
Lee and his team were fantastic! I reached out because we were dealing with serious noise issues in our very old home, and it was making it nearly impossible for my husband—who works graveyard shifts—to get quality sleep during the day. We needed our bedroom to block out outside noise and the general noise from inside the house. I also work from home and spend a lot of time on client calls and meetings, and with the kids coming home after school, everything seemed to echo through the walls. It was becoming a real challenge. Lee came out personally, took the time to assess everything thoroughly. On top of all that, his quote was more affordable than others we received, and the level of service and professionalism was top-notch. If you're dealing with sound issues in your home, I can’t recommend Bay Area Noise Control enough. They truly brought us peace and quiet!
Very detailed and excellent contracting. I have a beautiful floating floor at our new music studio in San Jose. Very professional and patient. Sound is very unique and Bay Area Noise Control guides you through all the aspects for a calculated build that truly works. Highly recommend for all musicians or those who need quality craftsmanship.
I had a great experience with Lee on our project. We live upstairs in a 2-unit condo and wanted to replace the carpets in the bedrooms with hardwoods. Needless to say, the downstairs neighbors would have been pretty upset if we would have done top-down nailing of the boards directly into the subfloor, like the hardwoods in the rest of the condo. Lee explained the theory behind laying down acoustic underlayment, helped us tweak the specific layers we used to optimize for different types of noises (footfall noise vs. voices coming through from downstairs, etc.). He understood our budget and worked with us. His crew was very professional and got the work done on time, even with a surprise in the subflooring once they pulled the carpet up. Highly recommend!
Lee is a true professional. He's competent and just flat out knows his stuff. Sound proofing can be very complex but Lee always seems to know the best approach in dealing with difficult challenges.
Lee was very helpful in answering questions related to soundproofing.
Lee was extremely knowledgeable about what I needed to do to solve my very challenging situation. He gave me clear directions and made the process smooth and easy to understand. He was very responsive to always of my further questions. I feel very lucky to have made contact with him, because now my noise problems are solved.
Very helpful, and they really know what they are talking about.
PAC International, LLC. has been working with Lee Brenner with Bay Area Noise Control for years. Lee understands the increasing demands for soundproofing and specialty construction and tackling issues like impact and footfall noise is becoming exceedingly important! Lee has been awesome to work with and is an expert in soundproofing remodeling and retrofitting. Lee has been using our RSIC-SI-X system and the results have been overwhelmingly positive, and Bay Area Noise Control clients have expressed great satisfaction with the outcomes.
I consulted with Lee on setting up a music studio in my house. He was very knowledgable and help me decide on which room in the house would be best suited, what are the ways I could both soundproof and "soundtreat" the room for a good jam/recording music studio within my budget. He was realistic with what results I could expect with my target budget, and didn't try to up sell me on any some magical material that would solve all of my problems. Turns out this kind of project is quite complex but Lee helped me understand it all much better! Thanks again Lee, I'll definitely reach out again for any more projects!
Lee is exceptionally knowledgeable, responsive, and a joy to work with. When my landlord installed hardwood floors in the apartment above me, Lee came and prepared an excellent report detailing a number of construction options, which helped reduce the noise significantly, and he's continued to provide helpful advice since. He is a wealth of information and extremely pragmatic at getting results.
Lee is a master craftsman. He fixed a problem I've had for years in the control room of my home studio. He quoted a bit more for an initial site visit than some of the other people I contacted which I initially found off-putting. But he had a good bedside manner on the phone, and sounded extremely knowledgeable and I came away feeling actually rather reassured by his pricing. I learned a lot when he came by and I was a bit surprised that I hadn't known some of these things already. I'm a pretty good audio engineer but well... let's just say, I was very pleased to be the beneficiary of someone who is as enthusiastic about structural engineering as myself. We settled on a design fairly quickly, and when it came to the actual construction, I found his quote for the entire project to be more than fair.
Super friendly and very knowledgeable.
Great
Do NOT use bay area noise control. This company is led by an absolute con artist who charges exorbitant premiums for consultation fees ($450 for a consultation fee??), gives useless advice during said consultation, and then disappears. I don't believe that Lee takes consultations in good faith (i.e. he's just collecting a check with no intention of following up), and compared to what the rest of the market charges he's totally out of touch. This guy is a ripoff and I deeply regret that we used him for a consultation. I talked to 4 other soundproofing outfits (sadly, Lee was the first that we met with), and all of them charged between $0 and $150 for a consultation. Furthermore, all of them followed up with a quote and statement of work after - Lee did none of these things. Save yourself the headache, and go elsewhere. This con artist won't be helpful to you, but he will rip you off. Btw - the guy below, "Lee Brenner" is the owner of said business. He's writing a 5 star review for his own business. If you ever needed more validation of a fraud...... Save yourself the headache. Find another contractor.
Company’s local and national phone number does not work. Their website’s link to their email address continues to error whenever I try to access it. How am I supposed to contact this company?
Lee was extremely helpful in helping me locate a repair person for an old soundproofing window that was broken. He was not going to profit from helping me he just went out of his way to send me to the right repair person. I hope i have a reason to use his soundproofing services. Above and beyond.
We're very happy with Bay Area Noise Control's work. We needed special soundproof windows and doors to keep our dog from going crazy with airplanes and leaf blowers all day long! Everything is peaceful now, great job!
They helped me with a sound control project on my four-plex near the beach. I have another four-plex and called them again for a consult.
