Central Texas RetroFoam

If you’re considering RetroFoam San Antonio, don’t. This has been one of the most frustrating and costly home service experiences I’ve ever dealt with.<br><br>It started with the initial quote visit. The salesman assured me there would be noticeable noise reduction after the foam installation. Well, that was a complete lie. There is absolutely NO noise reduction. I paid for a benefit they promised, and it simply does not exist.<br><br>Then came the install crew… and the real nightmare began. They overfilled foam into my entire bedroom wall so badly that the wall had to be completely replaced. This wasn’t a small patch or minor repair—this was major damage caused directly by their work.<br><br>RetroFoam sent a contractor out to assess the repairs, but once they clearly didn’t like the estimate, suddenly they decided to send “their trusted guy” from San Antonio instead. That guy showed up acting like he was going to demo, hang drywall, sand, texture, and paint a 14x12 wall in ONE DAY. Completely unrealistic and honestly ridiculous.<br><br>To make it worse, he was sanding wet drywall mud just to rush the job and get out of there. The result looked exactly like what it was: a rushed, sloppy “repair” done by someone trying to cut corners.<br><br>After all that, RetroFoam still wasn’t done. They later claimed they were going to send someone out to fix sections of the wall that were still lacking foam. Mia told me they would use a heat gun to do it properly. No heat gun was ever used. Instead, the guy drilled multiple additional holes in my walls, creating even more damage for me to fix.<br><br>And here’s the best part: they sent the same guy back out again—the same person involved in the first mess that damaged my wall in the first place. Apparently, RetroFoam doesn’t believe in learning from mistakes or preventing repeat issues.<br><br>When all was said and done, after the false promises, the property damage, the rushed repair work, and the repeated wall drilling… I still had to pay the entire bill. No accountability. No meaningful resolution. Just excuses and more damage.<br><br>RetroFoam San Antonio was careless, misleading, and unprofessional from start to finish. Save yourself the headache, save your walls, and hire someone else.<br><br>Watch out for RetroFoam San Antonio.

Josh and his other two crew members (forgot their names) were very thorough, very professional, and cleaned up after themselves. That was a very pleasant suprise for me considing they appeared to be in their 20's, and that's not what I usually expect of young men that age. The house they RetroFoamed was built in the late 70's and there were other contractors working on other things at the same time, but they managed to do a really fantastic job and none of the contractors got in anyone else's way. I don't have any energy bills for comparison (yet), but I do expect a big drop when it gets hot next summer. To summarize, I would definately recommend them.<br><br>Edit1: It's about a month after my insulation was "installed" and I cut a hole in the side of my house to install a doggie door. The section of wall that I opened was retrofoam insulated, but not the bottom 6 inches or so. That's fair, and pretty much what they said to expect when I was quoted. I also have some sections where the expanding foam actually emerged on the outside of the house, so I'm pretty sure it does go all the way to the bottom on at least some sections. I haven't had a month of 100° days yet to compare utility bills, but I will update this review after I do. I'm still very happy with the work they did - just wanted to remind you that it might not be 100% floor to ceiling depending on your existing insulation. Bottom line - yea, I'd still recommend them.<br><br>I'll update this review next September, maybe October - in Texas August and September are both brutally hot and expensive utility-wise. If you live in Austin you understand.

Crew arrived on time and explained the process each step of the way. The provided photos of before the installation to show what we were working with. Josh, Jacob and Vincent were respectful and great to work with. Highly recommend.

Contacted Central Texas RetroFoam to help add insulation to my second floor. I had already contacted a contractor to remove the siding and add ridged foam board. Received an astronomical price. Noticed one of the RetroFoam truck&trailers. Called the number and am so glad I did. Craig gave me a honest quote and timeline. Mia scheduled my install date and stayed in touch with me every step of the way. Josh and Niko arrived early on the installation day. We performed a walkthrough of all four walls. They set up and began working. They were very professional and took care of my home. It was a long day, they finished just before the sun went down.<br>The cool December Texas weather played a small part in that.<br>Overall we feel the price quoted was very fair and the work performed was very professional. I appreciate the lifetime warranty and the follow up attention paid to our family.<br>If you are interested in having this done on your home, don’t hesitate to pull the trigger on having this done.

Everything went from scheduling to installation as expected. The team did a great job. Back office responds to questions in timely fashion. Small things like this builds confidence with a vendor that you are not gonna likely to use more than once or twice. The project started and completed as promised. I could definitely tell the difference since a few days after the installation there was a cold spell. In my single family home, I have not used my central heating system this year yet. It was sufficient just to use a space heater a few times to get more comfortable. It speaks volumes on the difference this insulation can make especially in houses that are old and the insulation is either inadequate, lacking or simply deteriorated. I was also incentivized to do this work this as opposed to later since the energy efficiency tax credits are due to expire at the end of the year.

The guys at Retrofoam<br>Did a great job insulating my 1950 home. They were minimally invasive with small Holes in Sheetrock To do the job. They left the home clean and dust free and even patched the wall Holes. With minimal texturing and paint the walls Looked good as new and the home is so much more comfortable now. Thank again !!

Highly recommend RetroFoam - the process was simple and straightforward from the initial assessment/estimate to the installation. Joshua and Nico were the technicians responsible for the installation, and they were professional and courteous throughout the process. They took great care in protecting the house, especially the floors. They did a great job and left everything clean.

Excellent service!! The team led by Josh, including Nico and Jacob, were excellent. They were prompt, and so respectful and professional. Arrived early and checked in with me ensuring the project details were as expected. They also double checked with Clayton, the sales rep, who created the quote and statement of works prior to beginning the job. Regularly checked in with me throughout the day, and working in triple digit heat, never once looked overwhelmed. They were patient, kind, trustworthy, and polite and very careful with the property...ultimately respectful. We did the walk around at the end of the day and Josh communicated what needed to be done in the event of any issues, and thoroughly explained expectations going forward. First rate installation and service. So glad I did this. Already much quieter! I also want to mention that Mia in the office was fantastic and very responsive to all my questions.

Excellent product/workmanship recommend for all Killeen houses built w lousy/no insulation. Noticable sound reduction from helicopter traffic/quieter at night. Cool/warm when/where needed. Professional/neat staff has fun doing what they do!

I could not be happier with my experience with Central Texas RetroFoam. From Joe and his initial visit/assessment to Mia and her coordination and Josh with his crew doing the actual work. What an amazing team! They were professional while remaining very personable. I found one wall that was never discussed with anyone but realized I wished I would have had it done, Josh had already cleaned all the equipment and was getting ready to leave. All I did was mention my regret having not brought it up sooner, and he jumped on it without complaint. They exceeded my expectations !!

I got my garage retrofoamed back in February and it finally got hot enough to do a proper test to see how well this foam works, and it works amazingly. I had the walls spray foamed, ceiling insulated with blown in fiberglass, and got a diy garage door insulation kit from Lowe's, then ran an 6" A/C duct myself to the garage. With those changes my garage was able to maintain 80° on a 107° day. Last year I wouldn't have been able to spend more than 5 minutes in my garage without dripping sweat. I highly recommend this for anyone who spends a lot of time in their garage working on their cars, woodworking, ect. In total I spent less than $3,000 for all the upgrades. Totally worth it.

The project went well overall: Joe (salesperson) was straightforward and upfront with everything, including costs. Mia (office) kept in contact with us from start to finish, keeping us in the loop and checking in to see how the process was going. She was always kind and very efficient! Josh (lead installer) was also very kind, polite, and respectful while on the job, as were the other crew members.<br><br>5 stars overall but 4 stars for work debris and cleanup. They raked and used a shop vac afterwards though we're still finding pieces of the retro foam, existing styrofoam backing, and splintered wood pieces on the ground near the siding and in the yard. We recommended it would've been better to use tarps to cover the ground under the workspace while the work is being done.

I cannot recommend Central Texas RetroFoam highly enough! From start to finish, their service was absolutely phenomenal. Joe, in particular, went above and beyond. I’d like to give you some feedback on the new installation of the RetroFoam insulation in my home.<br><br>With this being such a new installation, I won’t have any data on utility cost savings. However, I did see/feel changes right away.<br><br>First of all, communication with Central Texas RetroFoam has been easy and I find the company to be extremely responsive. I always have a lot of questions and it was pleasant to get answers quickly.<br><br>My house is over 110 years in age, and with that comes a lot of issues! The two major ones were impacted almost immediately! My house has always been drafty. I could run my heat constantly in the winter, and always felt cold air movement. Once the installation was about 25% done, I could feel the difference. I also was very aware of outside noise. I have train tracks about 4-5 blocks away and a few neighbors that like to play loud music in their vehicles. While noise is not absent, it is dramatically reduced and there is actually a sense of calm!<br><br>The crew arrived fully prepared to start work and the 4 men worked together quickly and cooperatively. They cleaned up as they completed the area they were working on and moved onto the next. Because of my shiplap walls and no prior insulation … those rooms did have some seepage of the insulation material. That was also cleaned up right away, and my home left ready for normal living.<br><br>I have absolutely no reservation in recommending this service/product to others!

First let me say that the RetroFoam product works and it works well. I had two issues in the master bedroom of my newly built home. My entire home has standard bibs insulation which is really good but my master bedroom is the farthest room from my unit and I have neighbors on the master bedroom side of my home who seem to feel like it's their duty to blast music and slam car doors all day and night. My master bedroom in this newly built home was not bad but still noticeably hot in the summer, cold in the winter and with my loud neighbors could stand some outside noise reduction. After having my master bedroom insulated with Retrofoam the rooms temperature is now better regulated and the outside sound has to be 50% less. With a product that works as well as Retrofoam the only thing that could go wrong was the people who do the work and I am HAPPY to report that from my first call to the office and talking to Mia and during the installation with the three man team everyone was professional, knowledgeable and great at their jobs. Thank you Central Texas RetroFoam for making my home just a little better.

If you need quick insulation to make drastic changes to your energy bill, this company is it! Had a wall that felt extremely cold during the winter. Didnt help that the wall was downstairs across from my thermostat, so downstairs was always cold, and upstairs was extremely hot. After getting the insulation, it completely fixed it! Both upstairs and downstairs feel about the same now. Sound doesn’t come through either, and THAT COLD WALL ISNT COLD NO MORE! Planning on doing the whole house! HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommend!

One will only come away pleased and amazed by the quality plus expertise of the experience with this company. Mia is excellent via the office and both Jessie and Joshua arrived on time set up quickly once they knew where the work was needed. A very reputable Company!<br>The crew was very professional and courteous during the installation and answered any questions we had while installing the foam.<br>Even better, we don’t experience the road noise we had from the highway and our HVAC doesn’t run as much as it used to!!!<br>I would recommend this product and procedure to anyone looking to save money in their utility bill.<br>I’ve attached our usage graph from our heating system to show the difference in run time. Central Texas Retrofoam did a great job putting injection foam into a few walls at my house. North facing and walls with plumbing are now fully insulated. The crew was very fast and efficient and left my property cleaner than when they arrived. I was very impressed with the team! Very nice and completely thorough. The pricing for this small job was much better than their competition. I highly recommend this company for your insulation needs. Injection foam makes a huge difference in energy cost savings, noise abatement and general comfort. Do it! You will thank yourself.

The staff was punctual, efficient, and very professional. The plugs (see picture) were easy to sand and paint.We will look forward to seeing our utility bills go down.

Total waste of time. Sales guy comes out and sells the job and then installers come out and say not possible. Meanwhile, they make you rent them equipment to do the job that they don’t reimburse you for when they can’t do the job.

The Texas Heat is much more bearable. We live in Windsor Park, Austin. A 1950,s built neighborhood. Most homes had little to no insulation in the walls. I think our AC unit will survive for a longtime now! Thank you Moses, Mike, Nicholas, and Joshua.

We are very pleased with the work Josh and his crew did. They are very hard working, skilled , polite and respectful. Mia gave outstanding customer service from setting up the initial appointment, making sure we received our quote, giving us updates, making sure things were going smoothly and that we were completely satisfied, finalizing payment and sending our lifetime warranty. It’s only been a few days and we are noticing a big difference in the temperature of our home. I feel confident we will see a big difference in our electric bill. I highly recommend this company and the foam insulation!

Overall, my experience was good. There were a couple of small issues that kept me from giving them 5 out of 5 stars. That said, I would hire them again and recommend them to other people.<br><br>The communication in advance of the work was great. The office people and the person that did they estimate were friendly, responsive, and easy to work with.<br><br>The team was very punctual, even arriving about 5 minutes early. There was a team of 4, with 2 people doing the foam installation and 2 people filling in the holes.<br><br>The insulation is definitely making an impact. I think the house is staying 4 - 5 degrees cooler and I notice my AC running less often.<br><br>My complaints are small in the scheme of things. And like I said above, I would still hire them again. Not all of the holes filled in very evenly. I expected to have to back in and spackle over the holes. I didn't expect to have to do it 2 times or in a couple of cases 3 times. Also, there was a fair amount of dust left over. I think they could have done a better job with sweeping and/or vacuuming.<br><br>A couple of things you should be aware of. You will definitely need to go back and do some spackling and painting. Some of the videos might make you think that the holes are about 1" across and up high in the wall. They are not. They are about 1/2 way up the hall and are about 2". So you will have to do more than a bit of touch up work. Don't kid yourself.

Punctual, honest, and professional staff. Unfortunately my current insulation isn’t compatible with the Retrofoam, but working with the staff and owner for the estimate, payment, job scheduling, and refund was a breeze. I will recommend them to friends and neighbors.

First of all, if you’re even giving Retrofoam a thought; do it!!!!! I could notice a difference while they were installing it.<br><br>To be fully transparent I had some concerns:<br>- how big with the hole be<br>- how do they patch their work<br>- how do they check how well it’s installed<br><br>You know, the normal (this isn’t my job) kind of thought process. Well I am making the time to write this in appreciation for the crew that came out: Josh, Nico, Alex and Jesse.<br><br>If you do go with Retrofoam, and you get this crew, YOU hit the jackpot!!!! Professional as can be, answers every single one of my questions with patience and professionalism (oh and I had a ton of questions!!!)….<br><br>So to not leaving the reader hanging I’ll answer the examples I wrote here:<br><br>- how big with the hole be? As you can see from the pictures, it’s about a 2” hole<br>- how do they patch their work? They have a bag of (I’m calling them) “pucks”, then they patch it…. Is it fully patched? No, but that’s not what Retrofoam is there for…but as you can see from the pictures, a little texture and paint and you can knock it out easily - bottom line: THEY DO NOT LEAVE A HOLE!!!<br>- how do they check how well it’s installed: they use a heat gun and I was actually asking questions (two separate times) if they see the product don’t go everywhere - they make an additional hole to ensure they cover every nook and cranny - believe me, after I saw that and the crew (thank you again!!! Took the time to even show me the heat signature change in my walls (both times) - wow!!!!<br><br>Ok, so I also wanted to apologize for the crew, I said I would write a review that day. To again be transparent, the crew explained it takes up to two days to cure. Well, I waited the full two days to write this review…<br><br>So here’s the results:<br>- day of install: two degrees less<br>- full two day curing: I’m getting on average four to six degrees less (in a garage and in Texas, it’s HUGE!!!! IYKYK!!!!)<br><br>So again, I hope this review helps both the crew that came out to do the installation, the company and future customers. I get ZERO kickback for doing this - I just know that when I was younger I worked a little on the customer service end - and most people will only complain and NOT share good news!!!<br><br>Strongly recommend!!!! Especially if your home is old or you know the insulation in your home is lacking!!!! Garages (since the majority of them are not insulated) IS a no brainer!!!!<br><br>Good luck, thank you again to Retrofoam and especially the install crew: Josh, Nico, Alex and Jessie!!!!

Great company. I had a wonderful experience adding foam insulation to our home. Everyone I communicated with was great from the front desk to the estimator, to the work crew. They stand by what they say and it’s always so great to find a reputable company. I think that our older home will really benefit from finally having insulation. We thought we just had low insulation from the house being older but as they got into the walls we realized we didn't have ANY insulation. I highly recommend calling them and starting the process if your home struggles with temperature issues.

On time, professional staff. They had a walk through my entire home and marked areas that would be worked on. During the first hole we were informed we had blown-in insulation and retrofoam wouldn't fill unless blown in removed. This level of integrity by a business is unheard of. We still proceeded with having our garage insulated and the difference is unbelievable!! Crew left area clean and even wiped down my garage door to ensure no debris was left behind. Would highly recommend.

We just had our 1440 square foot of exterior walls retro foam filled and Josh and the crew were great. They showed up on time, they walked me through the process and answered questions. Then we talked about possible unforeseen issues and they got to work. They were fast and very respectful of the property and done within the same afternoon. The work looks great and we noticed an instant difference in temp uniformity in the home as well as sound deadening. We will be recommending these guys to our neighbors as well.

Very professional and customer-oriented staff. The product works as advertised. You can feel the temperature difference even though we only did 2 walls. It does dampen outdoor noise some.

I am extremely pleased with my decision to use Central Texas RetroFoam. I was skeptical at first, due to the fact that I had an old clunker of an Central AC unit, that I know I had to replace soon. Once again my Ac unit was bad, but I decided to go with the foaming of my walls before I buy a new unit, and I'm glad I did, cause it will save my new unit from running as much. Before I insulated my house my old AC unit was not catching a break, just constantly running forever. After the foaming I was like ehh, but I had to give it sometime to let the foam cure because it was still wet. After curing for a while, I noticed My old clunker of an AC was shutting down faster. My Ac unit now comes on and turns off in 4 minutes. Also as my unit rest more it's becoming more efficient regardless of the age. I can rest more at night not having to worry about if my unit will break down. I would like to thank Mia (Operator) who I was on the phone a lot with, through this process and Moses the crew chief who came out and foamed my house. I've been retro foamed. Very professional and quick. The lead, Moses even educated me in the process and some of the science behind the foam. Definitely recommend.

Terrible company. Scheduled out my small job for September 26, 45, days after i paid the deposit, which was made very clear was too small by them. I flew back from Salt Lake City to meet them for the job and had to fly out to California on 09/27 until the following Monday,<br><br>The day of they canceled citing "trailer issues" and offered to reschedule for Friday or 5 weeks out, so I begrudgingly agreed to Friday, which I couldnt be in person for but offered to make them a door code and check on the cameras. That wasnt acceptable to them and they stated that someone familiar with the project had to be present so I offered to hire my friend to go by and be there, to which they changed their tune again saying that the homeowner all of a sudden had to be present.<br><br>My walls have been open for 2 months, the project has been on hold due to this and now I have no choice but to continue without foam insulation in my cigar lounge.<br><br>The only positive is that they refunded my deposit and didnt steal it. Stay far far far away from this place if you have any hopes of getting your project done.

We had a great experience with Moses, Zach, and Matthew today. We had our house insulated with their injection foam process and immediately could tell a comfort difference within our home. By the time they were done our thermostat (set to 73) was no longer struggling to keep our house below 80, but was actually brining it down to 73 degrees! Those who have been suffering through this rough Texas summer heat know how incredible that is! I would recommend Central Texas Retrofoam to anyone who is interested. Thanks again!

WOW! My wife and I are impressed with the high level of detail to their finished product. All the workers introduced themselves, were very professional, quick, and clean. I am a customer service director for a system of hospitals and I must say the customer service from start to finish was exemplary. I highly recommend this company. Called Central Texas Retrofoam to get a quote to work on my single story home. Got in touch with Gary and he came out when he said he would and gave me a quote which was fair. I scheduled the work and Abel & Moses showed up on time and kept busy and was done in about 3-4 hours roughly. They cleaned up after themselves and all that was left with was a little touch up painting due to my type of siding (Hardi board). Once i got done painting, i can barley tell where the work was done and am looking forward to the increased efficiency this summer and can already tell the home is quieter inside. I’d definitely recommend them if you’re looking for a reasonable upgrade in insulation and noise reduction

I was skeptical of using this company because I found them through an ad on social media and they were a complete unknown. (But I wanted the walls of my garage insulated and these folks fit the bill.) I have to say, I was extremely impressed by the job they did. They were good communicators up front, for one thing. When the crew showed up, they worked quickly and efficiently. (Thank you, Moses!) My skepticism about the efficacy of their insulation disappeared once they completed the job. (How would I know if the insulation behind the walls was thorough and if it even worked?) Within 24 hours, it became evident that there was a huge change in the air in the garage. The garage no longer felt like an extension of the outdoors; it now felt like a sealed cave. (I need to install an AC Unit next) Also, the WiFi signal used to pass freely through the garage, and now the the signal is mostly blocked to the backyard. (Not a big deal... just a surprise. I was like, "yeah, those walls are definitely insulated now!")<br>Anyway, this was a totally positive experience. Thanks!

These guys did amazing work. The estimate was prompt, installers arrived on time and were polite and informative. The projects was completed as scheduled. I’m very pleased with the result. A windy cold front blew in a few days after the insulation was installed and our home was noticeably warmer.

Retro Foam exterior wall insulation. These guys did a fantastic job. First of all they came all the way to the Houston area because we did not have anyone here for this service. They were neat, tidy, quick and did fantastic. The difference in my home comfort is a million times better. My wife and I contemplated getting this insulation installed for nearly three years. Finally spent the money on it and let me tell you, this was worth every single penny. Our 100 year old home had zero insulation. Our AC used to run non-stop. Now it stops and the house maintains the temperature. Not only that, we can't hear cars driving down the street. They did an awesome job! Our house is an old house that had no insulation in any walls. The inside temperatures were soaring going into the summer, and the A/C couldn’t keep up. Literally less than 12 hours later our house was cooled and our A/C was able to shut off for what felt like the first time in months! Couldn’t be more happy with their work! Thanks a ton!

They provided foam insulation inside the brick and vinyl sided walls of my home and did a great job with the installation. This is a service I've been searching for since the big freeze of 2021. They are a relatively new franchise in this area from a larger company out of Michigan and they are taking off in this area so you need to get on their schedule before it starts getting hot this summer and your electric bills start shooting through the roof. I'm expecting my bills this summer to go down significantly.<br><br>One thing I especially liked about this crew is the fact they cleaned up their mess after they were done and put everything back the way they found things. Central Texas RetroFoam just performed my foam insulation installation and did a great job. I am looking forward to the energy savings and less external noise. The installation team arrived on time, accommodated my needs when parking their truck and trailer and got straight to work. The process was explained and I was invited to ask questions and provide details on any potential complexities that I might know about regarding my home. The team worked quickly and efficiently, asked questions as they went to ensure that I was happy, and did a wonderful job of cleaning up after themselves. The supervisor kept me well informed, answered my questions, explained all of the unusual items they found (several places where there was NO original insulation in my walls) and took me on a walk around of the whole house. The team was courteous, well dressed and good mannered. I can't say that I have ever had a better experience with a contractor before. Add a great experience to potential lower energy bills and I am now a very happy customer. While not an inexpensive upgrade depending on the size and construction of the home, I strongly recommend RetroFoam be considered by those who are looking for long lasting, value enhancing (lifetime transferrable warranty) upgrades to improve the comfort of their home.

Central Texas Retro Foam completed exterior wall insulation for us on Monday. So far we have definitely seen improvements with the temperature of our house and moderate sound dampening. Would happily use them again, Angelina is prompt and helpful!

Contacted Central Texas RetroFoam to help with poor insulation in my 1999 built home. The house is significantly more comfortable after Matthew's team came out to install retrofoam.<br><br>I'm super happy to recommend the product and service to anyone interested in boosting comfort in their home for the following reasons:<br><br>The experience:<br>1. Quick follow-up after initial product inquiry. Was able to schedule a quote within days of original correspondence.<br>2. Quote was generated within the same day of the scheduled quote.<br>3. Work was completed in the time frame they quoted. (2 days for 2 story home)<br>4. My wife noticed an immediate benefit to retrofoam right after the most recent Austin freeze. We didn't have to run the heater as much to stay warm.<br>5. Follow-up call the day after service.<br><br>Up Front with finishing and outcome of install:<br>1. Central Texas RetroFoam was very up front about what they can and cannot do with their product. i.e. cannot remove hardie plank siding to install product for risk of damaging material. They explained to me that they'd need to drill holes in between each stud cavity to install retrofoam and would need to patch it afterwards. There is risk they cannot match the original siding finish.<br>2. The team was ultimately able to get a close color match to my original siding where they had drilled holes.<br>3. Retrofoam can be installed from the inside of the house as well. We did that for one of the walls due to ease of access. They patched the holes as promised. The home owner will need to re-texture the holes and re-paint.

Excellent work at a reasonable cost! Immediately noticed quieter house, and the HVAC isn't running most of the time now!
