I can’t say enough good things about this company and the man who runs it. Neal came out to our house personally to look at our home after I told him about our insanely high utility bill our first month in our new home. This is our first home we’ve ever owned and there’s a lot we don’t know. Before Neal even looked in my attics he took the time to help me shop different utility companies and go over what my rates and kilowatt usage should look like. Later that day he emailed me a massive list of utility companies so I can start shopping around for a lower rate.

He then checked all of my air vents in our whole house and explained to me about return and supply vents and helped us realize we needed to also be calling our HVAC people out for an inspection.

After all of this he thoroughly inspected all of our attic spaces (we have three) and was very honest about his plan for them. He almost does exclusively radiant barrier for attics but he said he wouldn’t do it for ours because we lacked soffits. He took time to explain everything (including what a soffit is) and made sure I understood exactly what his plan was for insulation.

Less than 24 hours later he emailed a very reasonable quote. Neal checked in on us multiple times while having our HVAC inspected and seriously he was kind to educate us on so many things. He went above and beyond the call of duty and we wouldn’t want to hire anyone else for the job! This man really cares about the clients he serves!!

I highly recommend Neal and Affordable Radiant Barrier. We got 3 bids, and Neal spent 3X more time in our attic assessing our needs than the other providers. His proposal was more detailed and his price was truly affordable. His crew was efficient and professional. He was fun to work with.

I recently had radiant barrier installed in my home, and I couldn't be more pleased with the results. From start to finish, the entire process was seamless. The installation team was professional, efficient, and incredibly knowledgeable. They took the time to explain the benefits of the radiant barrier and how it would improve my home's energy efficiency. Since the installation, I've noticed a significant reduction in my energy bills and a much more comfortable living environment. Overall, I highly recommend Affordable Radiant Barrier installation service to anyone looking to improve their home's energy efficiency and comfort. It's been a game-changer for me!

I’ve hired Neal and his team at Affordable Radiant Barrier for the second time, and I couldn't be happier. A few years ago, they did a great job on my first radiant barrier project, so when I needed my attic insulation topped off, I called them again.
Neal is sincere—he walks through the attic and tells you exactly what needs to be fixed without trying to sell you anything you don't need. He also fixed a few areas where the radiant barrier had been damaged during the installation of a new HVAC system. It’s rare to find a contractor in DFW who is this consistent and dependable. If you want it done right the first time (or the second!), call Neal.

Excellent service!! Neal is great. We completely replaced insulation in the attic due to a rodent problem. Exterminator companies marked up the price 3 times what Neal charged. Handyman sealed up the entry points and boom, we're done!

Neil will quickly review the property need. Marvin and the crew are nothing short of nuclear with the output of workmanship. The property was huge with attic conversion. There dynamics from beginning to end was a positive conclusion. They also worked around my busy schedule. Hats off..

You know how you hear about "the real deal"? Well, Neal is it, and I've got a story to prove it.
Neal came to our house to give us a quote on insulation, but it turns out he’s a modern-day Sherlock Holmes of the home. As he was up in our attic, he somehow diagnosed a major AC problem that could've cost us a small fortune. I'm talking potentially thousands of dollars in savings, all before he even had his ladder fully retracted.
And he didn't stop there. He noticed our vents were past their prime and that our roof fan was completely out of commission—and we had no idea. He’s incredibly communicative, and his prices are completely fair. In fact, he was a lifesaver after we'd gotten two other estimates that were so far out of our budget they made our wallets weep.
Neal doesn't just give estimates; he provides a comprehensive diagnostic, a good laugh, and a fair price. He’s my go-to guy from now on.
I can’t wait to see the savings in our electric bill with our new radiant barrier and insulation.

About a year ago we had radiant barrier installed and it was the best upgrade we have made to our home. We also had tint installed by the same installer on most of our windows
Our upstairs AC had always struggled to keep up with the hot summers here in TX and last year was the first year we were able to keep the temperature where we wanted and it maintained! There was a small issue during install that the owner worked with us to make right. If anyone is considering getting radiant barrier I say stop considering and just get it done. Our only regret is not doing it when we first bought our home years ago.

Mr. Neal was great from the moment we spoke. He came out to view the attic and explained everything thoroughly. I knew when we spoke via phone that I would use his company.
His crew, Mr. Marvin and Mr. Larry, did an amazing job with the radiant barrier, turbine exhaust vents, and attic door. Mr. Marvin also went out of his way to adjust a splash guard on the roof since he was already up there.
Mr. Neal, Mr. Marvin, and Mr. Larry are the coolest professionals! They were awesome... and I had an enjoyable experience with them.

We needed to have some insulation removed due to some water damage in our attic and ceiling. This company I recommend as they’re very responsive, very timely and very professional. They came out the next day and did an excellent job and even cleaned up.

A+. Had the privilege to work with Neal and Marvin, really great communication and transparency about our project (radiant barrier and insulation for a recent home purchase). Walked me through the whole process, showed up on time, and actually finished on time. Quality shows, am still flabbergasted about how the crew was able to walk around in the attic with ease. Already notice a drop in temp in the attic and am not so apprehensive with the looming 100+ degree days ahead. Will definitely recommend without reservations.

I’ve struggled with cooling problems in the infamous Texas summer and a friend at work referred me to Affordable Radiant Barrier. Boy was this one of the best referrals I’ve received to date and I owe that friend lunch for the rest of the year!

From start to finish Neal was nothing but honest, informative, and communicative in his approach. Rarely do you see the person at the top come out to do the quote, let alone stay in constant contact with you and working around your schedule.

He informed me about the recommendation for the job and even gave me tips on cleaning my soffit vents to keep the airflow. He explained the reasoning behind each decision and did so in a professional but down to earth manner. To top it all off his quote was lower than others I’ve received from vendors like Energy Attic by a large margin. With the reviews and personal recommendation, it was a no brainer to go with a company that’s honest and wants to do right by its customers.

Listen up y’all! If you’re looking for good people to help you bring down energy costs, then look no further than Affordable Radiant Barrier. Neal Jones and Marvin Gay both were outstanding in their services.
Came in and identify what could be my main problem. Ridge vents and turbines on my roof. Install radiant barriers and added insulation to bring it up to code. I know I'm not losing any inside tempetures out of my attic or roof thanks to Affordable Radiant Barrier. I wonder if they do windows? This is a great company. Thank y'all Mr. Neal Jones and Marvin Gay

Neal and Marvin figured out why one room in my house was always warmer than the rest of the house
and corrected the problem within 2 days of their first visit. I couldn’t be happier with their service and professionalism. So easy to work with. I highly, highly recommend them if you need radiant barrier or insulation.

I just had radiant barrier installed by Neal and his team. The inspection process and getting the quote was easy. I work random hour and Neal was able to work around my schedule. Neal and his installers did a great job. The install took a half day and the we very nice. They cleaned up after them selfs. Once complete Neal took the time to follow up multiple times after the install so I would highly recommend ARB.

Neal was great to deal with and the crew did an amazing job. They installed radiant barrier throughout the attic and installed a fan with thermostat that helps keep the heat down during the 100+ degrees days. We have lived in our house since 2016 and this is the first time the upstairs has actually stayed cool in the summer and the AC is not running constantly. We set the thermostat on 74 degrees and is stays 74 all day long, and the AC is not running constantly to keep the house that cool. Before the radiant barrier was installed the AC would run non-stop and the temperatures would get up to over 80 degrees upstairs.

Neal and his team did a great job installing my Radiant Barrier. He walked me through the process of how radiant barriers work and the benefits of adding it to my home. The install team was on time, worked extremely hard, and got into areas of my attic that I still can’t believe they reached. My install was done on 105 day in July…so you can imagine how hot it was in my attic. His team pushed through and got it done in 1 day. I’d highly recommend Affordable Radiant Barrier to friends and family.

Neal installed a radiant barrier, additional soffits, and a new attic fan. The crew was extremely hard working, cleaned up the job site when completed and did a great job.

The comfort level in our upstairs is drastically better and our air conditioners don't need to work near as hard in the heat of the summer.

I highly recommend his company's services. Very affordable given the work conducted.

Neal installed radiant barrier and insulation for us a little over a month ago. He also had some soffits and an attic tent installed. They finished the project in 1 day and left everything clean. On average we are seeing about a 25% daily reduction in electricity usage for cooling so far this summer.

Neal took extra time to perform his inspection before a quote was generated. When the quote was provided, it was much lower than his competitors.

The ARB team was professional and performed the install in 1 day. Our attic temperature has dropped at least 30F with the radiant barrier.

Neal and his installers did a great job and he took the time to follow up multiple times after the install so I would highly recommend ARB.

Neal was very professional and prompt at answering any questions i had, got a quote from other companies but none were as good as ARB. Neal is very knowledgeable and was able to provide a detailed explanation of what will happen during the project. He went around and spent twice as much time in the attic and around the house compared to the other two companies I obtained a quote from.

Neal's crew was very professional and kept clean after themselves, the install took the whole day but it looked great after it was completed. had radiant barrier installed all over the attic and got an electric fan installed. Extra insulation was added afterwards. There haven't been a lot of warm days but when the temp was 90 degrees outside my attic was also around 90-92 degrees, that's a huge improvement compared to having the attic sit at slightly over 100.

My upstairs AC unit was running 19hours / 24 hours in the summer when temperature was around 100 and could barely keep upstairs temperature under 78. I'll update the review after the summer and compare the performance of the added insulation and radiant barrier.
I would recommend Neal for any attic work.

I owe it to Neal and the reviews I got from this page, thus it is only right for me to return the favor to both Neal Jones and this review page to share my experience.

From the initial contact to getting quote, Neal has been very straightforward. He explained how the Radiant Barrier worked and proceed with checking the 3 attic spaces at our house.
I have read a good bit of info about radiant barrier and still, I learned more with him that day.
For those who plan to research, just schedule a call with Neal, he can explain everything in details for 20 minutes and this will save you hours of reading about this on the internet.

Our house have the thermal insulation (blown type) but during 100F days, the 2nd floor can get pretty hot and uncomfortable. Our first floor are all high ceiling, 13-14ft. The AC also struggle to keep up and failed to bring the 2nd floor temperature down to 77-78 F unless it runs constantly during the day and that's with the help of the other 2 units cooling the 1st floor and some (I actually used industrial air mover last summer to blow some cool air upstairs and the sounds of it get to be very annoying real quick).

Prior to Neal, I have asked another contractor who gave me a quotation without really explaining the scope of work, what type of material, which part is included, etc. I really didn't know what I will get for the price (higher than Neal) and whether it will work or not.

I also told Neal that I plan to have a new roof soon and not only he suggested non-black color shingles, he also refer me to a good roofing contractor (which I ended up choosing as he also do the good explanation and price - I want impact resistant shingles).

Long story short - Neal's crew installed the Radiant Heat Barrier for 3 of the attics in a little over a day, including the area that was super hard to reach between the garage and kitchen, soffit vents got replaced to provide better airflow, and Marvin and the crew cleaned up the areas after.
Neal came to check on the barrier installation and again during the roof replacement(for the fan). Marvin came over to check again a week later as well, as I had more unanswered questions.

Summer is not here yet, but I will provide an update when the 100s are here.

Affordable Radiant Barrier is definitely a 5 star provider in our book.

Note: Neal also help me with a mouse trap, which I have been trying to catch/kill for the past 4 months. just one but it's been such a smart creature, avoiding traps, baits, glue, etc.

Neal and his team were professional from the start. The quote was lower than others, and included only important items, like radiant barrier, attic fans, blown-in insulation, and replacing soffit vents. My attic is small with ducting all over, but Marvin and Homer were able to do a great installation, even in tight places. Between the summer heat and growing kWh prices, this will pay for itself.

Neil Jones gave me a very reasonable quote to install radiant barrier in the entire attic. He answered all my questions. He wasn't pushy to get any contract signed. I met with him on a Friday and the next Friday, his crew of three people came and finished the installation, 9 AM to 3 PM. They laid a plastic sheet on the floor, from front door till the attic door upstairs, to keep floor clean. Crew was very professional and hard-working. A thermostat controlled electric fan is also installed on the roof, for air circulation. Crew covered the entire attic including the garage attic, going way beyond and everything looks clean and professional. It has been only couple of days, and I can't talk about any energy savings. Feels warm inside, as today, it is freezing temperature outside. I very pleased with the service of Affordable Radiant Barrier. I will definitely recommend this company to anybody who is considering this service.

ARB installed a radiant barrier, an attic fan, and some heat reflecting window tint in my house a couple of weeks ago. It has made such a difference! My AC is able to keep up without constantly running all day and night and my attic is noticeably cooler.

ARB’s team was very friendly and competent too, and I am confident that they did a great job! We are very grateful for the amazing service.

I worked with Neal Jones. He is excellent at explaining what is needed, then doing that work exactly, with no surprise fees, hidden charges, or anything unsavory. The difference in my home is tremendous. Cooling on a 100+ F day would take most of the evening into the night, before... and now it only takes two hours. My thermostat went from running ALL the time, to keep up... to keeping it at 74 F on a 102 day, without running all the time. I don't put this kinda thing in reviews, typically, but I would 100% recommend his company to friends and family.

I would highly recommend Affordable Radiant Barrier. My upstairs was having a hard time cooling down below 80 in the summer, but now it can easily cool to 72 in the middle of the day. I got quotes from 3 different companies, and ARB was the lowest by far. I have not seen what it has done to my electricity bill yet, but considering I'm able to keep my house cooler AND my AC is running less often, I'm sure I will be seeing a cheaper bill.

The List of services doesn't have Radiant Barrier LOL, Well I got most of the services and they did a great job. The prof is in the pics. In Texas EVERYONE needs Radiant Barrier , and Neal and his crew know what they are doing.

I got 3 quotes for Radiant Barrier to be installed in our home. I can't recall the other 2 companies names but Neal Jones with Affordable Radiant Barrier stood out. He showed me things about my house neither of the other 2 companies noticed. Next he explained how Radiant Barrier works in the winter months as well as the summer - who knew that this works in the winter too - I surely didn't. Of the 3 estimates Mr. Jones said my insulation was fine and didn't need more - both of the other 2 companies wanted to add more insulation with the Radiant Barrier. All in all Mr. Jones was the lowest priced and made me feel comfortable choosing his company. Mr. Jones is the owner of the company and he was at our home during the install and at the end of the job to inspect everything. I waited until I received my last utility bill to really see if this makes a difference like other people say. My utility bill was lower by $120 and my upstairs feels cooler that ever. I can't say enough about Affordable Radiant Barrier and the owner Neal Jones - call these people you'll be glad you did. I'll be telling all my neighbors and friends about this guy, he's the real thing, you can't go wrong with this company...

Neal Jones, the owner, came out to our house and told us our attic was too difficult for his current team, which I appreciate. I have gotten the run around from other less experienced companies. I appreciate Neal Jones' expertise and advise. I would recommend him as a trustworthy option to any of my friends and neighbors.

ARB has top notch product and services and Neal Jones is super knowledgeable. I did a ton of research and actually had 3 quotes in hand - but something did not sit right with me .. until I met with Neal Jones from ARB. Jones was very personable, knew what his competition would quote and what services they would include / not include in their quotes. In his inspection of my attic space (both internally and externally), Jones focused on air flow -- more specifically how to move the hot air out of my attic -- he found that my attic did not have an adequate number of soffit vents to permit hot air to be easily vented out via my 4 whirlybird turbine vents. Neal was the only vendor to focus on this -- his point being that the RB is most effective when hot air in the attic is vented out - which requires air flow. Today ( May 15th, 2022 @ 2:00 pm) it is 87 degrees outside. The temperature in my attic is approximately 98 degrees .. far below the 130 - 140 degrees it would be without the RB. A cooler attic means that my AC system is working less to keep my home cool.
Jones's quote was very competitive even with extra services of cutting in 10 soffit vents (other vendors did not quote this work). ARB's team was professional, courteous, and left the job site broom clean. If you are looking to install a RB, I highly recommend ARB.

Hi - I wrote the above review several months ago. It is now late July and we (in North Dallas) have had 3+ weeks of 90 - 110 weather -- attach is a pic (taken Sunday 17 July 6:43 pm) of the thermometer in my attic -- shows 103 degrees and the outside temperature was easily upper 90 - lows 100s ... without ARB's radiant barrier, the temperature in my attic would have easily exceeded 130 degrees -- if not higher. I keep my home temperature at 78 degrees .. with ceiling fans running, I am very comfortable all day long (I work from my home) - the RB (along with the improved air flow via the soffits that Jones installed) is effectively keeping the heat out of my attic and, in turn, out of my home. My electric bill has reduced over $100 per month (for the past several months) -- I will easily earn back my investment in the RB in less than 36 months and since the RB will continue to perform for my lifetime, I will reap the return on my investment several times over. All-in, I continue to highly recommend ARB to my family, friends and neighbors!

It was wonderful working with Neal Jones who is very knowledgeable and friendly. He found that my attic did not have an adequate number of soffit vents to permit hot air to be easily vented out via my existing turbine vents.

The attic and the affected rooms already feel cooler. It will be interesting to see how much savings in electricity we will have going forward.

ARB's quote was very competitive even with the extra work of cutting out new or replacing existing soffit vents. ARB's team was very professional, courteous, and left the job site clean. If you are looking to install a radiant barrier, I highly would highly recommend ARB.

The owner and his team are dedicated to installation perfection. They were on time, worked professionally and were accommodating to my requests to access my attic through my garage instead of through my inside. I could hear their movements and conversation and feel they did not cut corners to be done early.
I’m very happy with the materials as they are heavier than competitors barriers and cost less. My home has been so much more comfortable during September. I’m looking forward to reduced utilities in the future.

UPDATE..during my fall service call of my heating system, my contractor was extremely impressed with the job that Affordable Radiant Barriers provided in my home. He will be referring to them.

Additionally, when having some remodeling considered the contractor proclaimed it was the best insulation job he had ever seen.

If these professionals are impressed by the end result, I’m giggly to have made the decision to use Affordable. 😊

As an owner of a 35 year old house (built in 1986 before they built them as tight as they do today), my AC was constantly fighting the Texas heat. Since I was doing a complete remodel, new AC and insulation/radiant barrier was at the top of my checklist. I called Affordable Radiant Barrier and Neal (the owner) came out and spent 30 minutes completely inspected my attic and then proceeded to outline a plan to keep my house cool in the summer and warm in the winter. Neal came in with the lowest bid and swiftly installed radiant barrier, insulation, attic fan and a attic ladder tent. I'm looking forward to the energy savings and more importantly not sweating all summer. I highly recommend Neal and his team for your insulation/radiant barrier needs.

Neal and his team are very professional. They came to my house at 9 and finish all the job around 5:30. They get the job done perfectly and cleaned the house before they go. I have four companies gave me the quote, but the price from Affordable Radiant Barrier is unbeatable, and their radiant barrier and service are so great. Highly recommend.

By far best home improvement for any home. I was just going to add new insulation myself and decided to get a few quotes on radiant barrier. Had a couple companies come out, they took quick look in attic we talked for maybe 5 minutes, gave me quote and gone. I set up appointment with Neal showed him attic and was expecting same thing, here’s your price see you later. Totally opposite, first thing he told me was he’ll come get me when he’s done in attic. About 10 minutes later he finally comes down, we walk the outside of the house he’s showing me soffit vents, roof vents, what their purpose is etc. We go back inside he shows me sample of material which I’ve seen pictures of but was skeptical of strength and durability, after all it just looks like a foil tarp. Boy was I surprised, this stuff is strong, did a few rip test to show me difference in material he uses vs. some of the others. Then he shows me demo of heat transfer, again completely surprised at how much heat it blocks. Neal was here for at least half hour if not longer went over his product, what he recommended I do. Complete opposite of other guys who were in and out within 5-10 minutes. The installation process went smoothly both days, cleaned up after they were done, couldn’t even tell they were here. Usually the upstairs ac runs most of the evening into the night, it was at temp and off by 7 ish. Every day I walk upstairs I’m surprised, just thinking it going to be hot or ac running non stop. I should have done this years ago. Not only did you explain your product extremely well, make recommendations as to what you would and would not do, your price was better than competitions. Thank you Neal for all your help and expertise.

Had a great experience with Neal and I was hopeful that the radiant barrier would make a difference but as with everything you never know. It has been in for a month. I used 400 fewer kWh to cool my house than June of last year and I am keeping it 1-2 degrees cooler than I did last year. It is really noticeable in the mornings when my house naturally stays cooler much longer and my AC does not even kick on till the afternoon. I liked working with Neal he was very straight forward and called out everything he found. There was no pressure. Took them less than a day to put it in my house and replace the attic fan. I am looking forward to seeing the savings all summer and keeping my house naturally cooler.

My house was hot as hell summer 2020 - my overall temps didn’t get below 78 for a couple of weeks. I did some research and found that a radiant barrier and added insulation would do the job. I called one company and they wanted to install a barrier, solar exhaust fan, and insulation for over $10k. The second company was ARB. Neal came out and told me what was up, showed me a quick demo of how the radiant barrier worked and quoted me a way cheaper price than the first. This quote included additional soffit vents too! He also laughed at my first quote I got, which was a relief because I about to pull the trigger and waste 10k dollars (thanks, Neal!)

A few months later (I had to save up some dough) I asked if he could come out and do his magic work. He had Ivan install the barrier and 120v exhaust fan in about 7 milliseconds and a couple days later the insulation guys put in an additional 12 inches of “Cadillac” insulation. I’m on my first full day with the barrier and am quite anxious for summer to come so I can show the Sun who’s boss with my air conditioning.

If you’re collecting quotes for an Affordable Radiant Barrier make sure to keep Neal and his crew at the top of the list. He’s professional, punctual, friendly, and ready to get the job done.

Neal was the epitome of a professional and had the patience to explain the process of his product the way a family member would do. He was honest of what I needed and more importantly what I did not need to have done to my home. I highly recommend this company for jobs in this field you might need.

UPDATE Feb 2021: Not only was this a good solution for the summer but it also helped out during the winter storms that shut down Texas. Due to Neal the owner adding additional insulation along with the barrier itself, it protected my pipes from freezing up during sub zero temperatures. This was a lifesaver and resulted in this un-foreseen benefit and protection for my home.

I would highly recommend affordable radiant barrier. The owner Neal comes out and personally conducts the estimate and he also arrives and personally supervisors and participates in the installation of the job itself. They get started early and work very hard. I can already feel the effects of the radiant barrier itself and I am very impressed. I ran estimates with three other companies and this by far was the best solution. Neal also installed additional insulation and an attic fan in addition to the radiant barrier itself. I also examined the radiant barrier product and it is higher quality and more durable than what you can buy at the store and better than what the other contractors were using.

We were having issues keeping our 1970 built house cool in this Texas heat. I received a quote from a local company that advertises a lot and their quote would have paid for a lot of advertising! I found Neal through a google search and am so glad I did! He was very professional and extremely thorough. He found items that needed to be addressed such as an AC unit leaking cool air into the attic and exposed duct work. We used ARB to install radiant barrier in our two attic spaces. They did a great job and Neal went above and beyond. He installed a high power attic fan, wrapped some open duct work, took care of the leaky AC unit, and even fixed an attic ladder that was just about to break. We are extremely pleased with the end result. Our radiant barrier was installed on August 7. Our electric bill before installation was $386 and after a full month with the radiant barrier, our electric bill dropped $132! Our house is staying cooler and even when it's extremely hot outside, the AC is not running all of the time. I would highly recommend Neal to do your radiant barrier - you'll be glad you did!

My husband received three quotes for insulation and radiant barrier installation. We decided to go with Neal and his team because of the detail and knowledge Neal displayed when coming out to give us an estimate. He was very professional and spent a considerable amount of time explaining the process, material he would be using, and pointing out areas in the attic that he and his team could fix during the process. On the day of installation, Neal and his team showed up on time. Neal oversaw the entire process and made sure the project ran smoothly. His team seemed competent, hard working, and professional. There were no issues with the installation and the team left our house as clean as when they arrived. Neal even patched up some roof holes and took down some wasp nests for me in the process. The entire process took approximately 7-8 hours. What I really liked about Neal was that he kept us in the loop throughout the entire project - before, during, and after. I would recommend AR Barrier (Neal) to any friend, neighbor, or family member needing insulation or wanting to install Radiant Barrier in their attic for energy conservation.

We are very satisfied with Radiant Barrier Neal's team installed recently.

We had several bids for the attic project, Neal provided really competitive and affordable estimate with professional consideration for the energy conservation & efficiency - it included not only heavy duty radiant barrier foil and all new soffit vents, but also the attic door insulating tent and a new thermostat controlled power exhaust fan. The new stalled Radiant Barrier & equipment greatly eliminated heat buildup in attic, made attic cool down and reduced energy bill.

Neal is an honest professional, what he said is what he did. We enjoy his service and like to recommend Neal to other friends.

This is my third house that I have lived in the DFW area since 2010. Our first 2 homes were new builds by Highland and we absolutely loved them. They were sealed tight and insulated the way a house should be with radiant barrier. Our new home did not have radiant barrier. It is 2644 square feet with an upstairs. We got several quotes from other AC radiant barrier company’s . None of the companies would beat the price or quality of Neals product. When I met Neal on the day of our walk through I could tell he was a genuine person. He never once tried to up sell me anything other than what I needed and in the end he used the best radiant materials possible. His main man Ivan was able to crawl down a few tiny spaces and put radiant barrier on every inch of our attic. Neal also set up an attic fan. The barrier and the fan changed the attic temp from 146 degrees to 106 degrees. Neal is a man of integrity. He wants the customer to be taken care of and pleased about the job done. With this house being an older home I had many choices, but a lot of companies are not genuine or give 100% to the work being done. That is not the case with Neal. He cares about his work and his clients. I highly recommend him.

READ THIS BEFORE YOU PICK A PROVIDER.
I got multiple bids to have the work done. In the case of Affordable Radient Barrier (ARB), they were the only ones where the owner himself (Neal) actually comes out and is present the entire installation process. He spent more time assessing and measuring than anyone else. In fact he actually found deficiencies in the construction and the HVAC system of the home (that no one else saw) and he provided solutions that went above and beyond just installing a radient barrier.
Be careful of what materials you get because there is a significant difference in quality of materials. Some of the bids had 30% ranges in price based on thickness of foil and blown in insulation. ARB Uses the thickest foil in their demonstration and then actually use that in the instal. They blew in more insulation than the others offered. And no monkey business later as I was a very careful observer during instal. We have a fairly large home but 4 distinct attic spaces. It took the three of them two full days to complete the work. And Neal was there the entire time side by side with his workers.

From all I learned over the one month of bidding process, attics need two things. Insulation AND ventilation. Both were sub par in my home.

The price was by far the best and yet it included more than the other bids. Besides the foil we had 9” of insulation blown in and a thermostatically controlled high output exhaust fan installed at the peak. NOT a solar fan that everyone else estimated at crazy prices.
But their work went above and beyond. They installed 14 soffit vents in crucial areas that the builder had missed. The attic was basically starved for fresh air. They resealed all the duct work with both tape and mud. They sealed all leaks on the air exchangers. They installed 2 attic tents at less than the cost of one from the other companies. They even installed multiple rodent baits to make sure if those critters ever get back in (old problem) they will enjoy a Last Supper.

And the end result? Our two ac units now make temp and go off in the afternoons, even at 95 degrees outside. You can walk into our two walk-in attics without needing a towel in 60 seconds. The house is waaay more comfortable and we actually raised the thermostats 3 degrees and it feels cooler than before. I can’t wait to see my first electric bill.

Do yourself a favor and save a lot of time and phone calls (and $$$). Just hire ARB. I saved big bucks and got the best job I could have ever hoped for. And I didn’t even list all the extras Neal did for us because I don’t want to set expectations higher than you should expect. Just say that by the time you’re done you might feel like I did and actually tipped his crew. Amazing - professional - hard workers.

I was having some issues keeping my house cool, so I called Neal. He spent an hour surveying the house and walking me through his thought process. He took the time to thoroughly explain everything. He ultimately concluded my insulation was OK and recommended I get someone to look at my AC system before considering his services. I appreciate his honesty. It’s refreshing to know he wasn’t just after my money. Once I get my AC unit issues resolved I will definitely be calling Neal again.

Neal was a pleasure to work with. His bid was lower than others we received and he went above and beyond with our Radiant Barrier and it looks like it snowed in our attic from all of the insulation! Would def recommend.

Wonderful experience with Neal, and my house is finally manageable in the heat! I have never been able to cool the house lower than 78-79 degrees when over 90 degrees, but now I can keep it at 72.

I also obtained 2 other estimates from bigger companies. They were all competitive, but I went with Neal because he didn't upcharge to seal my ducts and I just trusted him to do a great job. I would highly recommend him to anyone.

I searched for information on the Internet for a company to install a radiant barrier in my home. I found a great one. Neal came and explained the whole process, answered all my questions, and did an inspection of my home and explained what I needed. His crew showed up on time and worked professionally to install my barrier. I was amazed at how quickly I could notice the difference made on the atmosphere in my home. Even in the garage which could be unbearable as the day heated up the temperature markedly decreased. What a great experience!

Neil was extremely thoughtful in his explanation and the job was done well in a very professional manner. He did an amazing job of communicating with me. He even sent his own heating and cooling business partner to make sure there were no other issues. Thank you Neil!

I had three companies including Affordable Radiant Barrier come out to my home to access my attic. I chose AFB because of Neal Jones' thoroughness, attention to me and my needs and his very competitive installation estimate. He spent a lot of time in my attic assessing the 'current' insulation, ventilation and my HVAC's insulation too. He also inspected the soffit vents all around the outside of my home too. He then took a good amount of time to explain his overall install plan and why it would make the most sense for my home. One of the other companies only spent 10 minutes during their inspection. While the third company came back with an estimate that was higher and did not include as much airflow/ventilation improvement work Neal recommended. Besides installing the radiant barrier, AFB put in an electric exhaust fan, and added over 15 new soffit vents (and fixed many of the existing ones that were never installed ((some just had tiny hammer holes)) correctly by the builder 20 years ago. He also came up with a solution to insulate the attic access door in my office (see pic) to help keep that room cooler too.

Neal is professional and friendly. He has a hard working team and while I am not a pro their work seemed very complete was done neatly. They cleaned up so well my attic, garage and yard that you could not tell they had been there. The only thing I had to clean up was some tiny ceiling/paint pieces that fell down from my home's pot lights.

Ultimately, the 'proof' of radiant barrier will come after I access my electric bills for years pre and post install. But if you have decided to add radiant barrier to home's overall insulation package, I recommend Affordable Radiant Barrier.

When it comes to selecting a contractor to work in my home, I'm very particular with who I choose and extremely thorough with my research. If you're considering putting in a radiant barrier and insulation in your home, Neal Jones with Affordable Radiant Barrier is the man you should call. He is honest, dependable, responsive and extremely knowledgeable in the field of energy efficiency for your home and attic. He thoroughly impressed me from start to finish and I'm extremely happy that we selected him for this job. It's rare that the owner of the business shows up for the install, much less stays for the entire job and even helps with the work. But Neal was onsite from start to finish, ensuring that the job was completed to his high standards, and to our complete satisfaction.

Our installation is complete, and we can already tell a dramatic difference in the comfort level of our home, especially the second story. Even being inside the attic is tolerable now. Before the installation, I would set the upstairs thermostat to 73 degrees, but the AC unit would just run constantly and could never cool the second floor down below 78-79 degrees. Now when I set the thermostat to 73 (or lower) it has no problem reaching that temperature and holding there. I honestly wasn't sure if it was going to have a noticeable impact, but it has been incredible, and we are extremely pleased.

Our electric bills used to range between $500-$600 during the summer months, and gas bills between $300-$400 during the winter months. After having the radiant barrier and additional insulation installed, our electric and gas bills have been well below $200. I look at this as an investment in our home and it is quickly paying for itself in saved utility costs.

Neal and Affordable Radiant Barrier exceeded our expectations across the board. If you're in the market for a radiant barrier and/or insulation, do yourself a favor and give Neal a call. You can save yourself the hassle of having to meet with all the other vendors. You'll just waste a lot of your time and will end up selecting Neal for the job anyway. Trust me, you won't be disappointed by ARB!

Thank you, Neal Jones, and Affordable Radiant Barrier, for reducing our energy bills, making our home more comfortable, and more livable during the brutal Texas summer heat. We couldn't be happier with the results!

My bills were through the roof when I found Neal and his company. Our house was unbearable at night and our air conditioner ran 24/7 trying to keep up with the heat! Neal and his team were able to come in and finish the job in one day! There was not a trace that any workers had even been in my house, not on the stairs, or in any of the rooms! I swear my house actually looked cleaner than before they came lol. Neal took the time to sit down and explain how Radiant Barrier would cool my house and help reduce my bills, I feel like an expert on radiant barrier now.. He even took the time to check my air conditioner to make sure that it was running in tip top shape. The whole time Neal was here he was very professional and very personable. I know that if I ever move that I will be calling Neal again, and I brag about his company every chance I get!

Very pleasant experience! Neal and his crew were very professional and completed the work on time! We have a two story house and the upstairs was always hotter in the summer, after the radiant barrier was installed and the difference was very noticeable. Our electricity bill also decreased!

Owner Neal Jones was informative and professional. Neal and his crew arrived on time and completed the job ahead of schedule. We know radiant barrier will make a difference in our utility bills and our house and attic is noticeable cooler already.
