Uriah and his helper did a great job on the insulation project to add insulation and seal up air leak leakage in my attic. Uriah explained everything that he was doing to me, took pictures when the job was completed, and cleaned Up perfectly. Very polite. Thank you for an excellent job! Highly recommend.

We needed whole house insulation and choosing Koala was the best decision we made. Blow-in from exterior holes, then a total clean out and reseal in the attic, and then the garage as it’s a tuck under. A lot of work but a fair price and excellent service. Recommend.

The two gentlemen assigned to the project were fun and professional. Clear communication and competent. The only feedback I can provide would be to warn customers about needing to be off premises entirely for the duration of the blow in day. I was under the assumption only the later part of the day necessitated distance from the home. In addition we ran into some electrical issues in the attic (exposed wiring). I was able to temporarily remediate this while having access to the broken J box but an option to dispatch an on-staff electrician for an additional fee would have been great. I'm sure these situations come up regularly but we could not fix this to code properly on the day of the job. I had moved into this house only a few months prior and given the state of the old insulation, could not have known this. Overall for the scope of work, excellent from Koala. Just need to work on expectations.

I like to think a company is best judged not by when everything goes perfectly, but when there are issues. Everyone makes mistakes, miscommunications occur - it's impossible to *always* create a perfect experience. How we choose to react to those instances speaks to our merit. Koala insulation came to re-insulate my attic. Before the job, they had told me we couldn't be present while spraying due to fume risk, but otherwise we should be fine. When they were finishing up for the day, one of them made a comment to my roommate that was slightly misconstrued about the safety of being there. I had assumed I would recieve a message from them when they finished foe the day - they had let me know theyd text me when the job was *done* done, which wouldn't be for another day. So suddenly I found myself with my roommate (very reasonably) worried it might not be safe to go inside, after hours when no one was working to clarify. Not gonna lie, I was *extremely* angry. Thankfully, their automated system caught that I had a sensitive concern, and forwarded it to the person in charge. He called me directly, answered all my questions in detail, and confirmed we were safe to go in. Just a miscommunication, and one he took extremely seriously given the nature of the comcern it caused. I cannot tell you how much I appreciate how seriously they took that concern, rather than brushing it off or getting back to me the next day. All in all, they did a phenomenal job and were professional, courteous, and way faster than I expected. Cannot reccomend them highly enough.

Koala insulated our crawlspace & did a great job. Our family room which is above the crawlspace is much warmer, and also our basement.

Performed blow in insulation. Did not complete all of the work of air sealing in the attic, covered soffits and wouldn’t respond to emails and calls. Have massive heat loss still. Waste of money.

Insight and long range plan on difficult situation

Koala insulation removed the old ruined insulation in my attic, sealed all the appropriate areas with foam and replaced the insulation with cellulose and foam as needed. Cost was appropriate for the job, excellent communication throughout, very easy to work with, the workers are friendly and cleaned up well after finishing the job, a couple of minor issues were taken care of and final paperwork handled appropriately. Thanks Sean and Sam for making this project almost painless.

They re-insulated our crawl space under our dining room. From the appointment with Jon to getting an estimate and Uriah and his team to install was smooth and seamless. Jon was very responsive and answered any questions we had quickly. He also provided options for the work if cost was a concern. We felt their price was fair and reasonable and proceeded with the full crawl space. Uriah and one other came to install the insulation. I didn’t get his partners name, but they worked quickly and efficiently. Finished everything in a couple of hours and there was virtually no mess left. We had concerns about the dust that might be created by removing the old insulation, but they sealed the opening and there was no dust at all. Bagged up all of the old insulation and sprayed the new. We would recommend Koala for any of your insulation needs! They are also one of the few insulation installers who do crawl spaces on top of everything else.

We hired Koala for blown insulation in our attic crawl spaces. Clear communication, easy to schedule, polite, and quality of work seems good. They left a mess that required more than an hour of vacuuming, however. I still recommend them.

My appointment was easy to set up with no high pressure sales. John answered all of my questions on site and over text later. I wanted three separate quotes so I could make the best decision for my home and finances. John sent them all with no hesitations and right away. I set up installation for the following month as it worked best for my schedule and Shawn gave me the exact day and time I wanted. The installation process was fine and quieter than I expected. I have an anxious dog and she was fine. Alex sealed the areas around the duct work and my bathroom ceiling fans before blowing in the 22 inches of new insulation into my attic area. Carlos and Alex were polite and answered all of my questions while in my home and showed me the completed job before they left my home. Im giving Koala 4 stars instead of 5 because the crew arrived 45 mins after our scheduled arrival time in the morning without any contact to tell me they were running late. I also did not receive a confirmation text of appointment the day before or the day of, so I was waiting and unclear if they were even coming. Again tho, I reached out to John and he helped me out right away thru text to find out when they would arrive. And I also found a decent amount of construction staples spilled on my driveway after they left. I sent Shawn ,Koala’s owner, a picture of the staples and the feedback. He responded right away to me and assured me he would pass on the information to the crew. I would definitely recommend Koala for insulation needs. My process went well and I felt comfortable thru the whole process. I may even call them back to do the spray foam portion of my project later this year.

They did a good job despite the warm weather and finished on time. It sounds like they added several things that were not done when the house was built and showed me pictures, getting feedback was a definite positive. And they cleaned up at the end of each day.

I wish I could give zero stars! After 3 years of Koala doing work in my attic, I found they charged me for things that they never did! The insulation job wasn't done correctly and places were missing sealant that shoukd have been sealed! Make sure you have their work inspected if you already had it done

They just installed my solar fans and so far so good! Communication was easy, installation was quick, and they picked up after themselves when done. Will update if anything changes here, but so far I'm very pleased.

Koala insulation will be my go to. Uriah and Zane killed it on the second day of July spray foaming, and blowing in cellulose insulation. Great guys that worked hard and got the job done. Koala did a great job with improving the insulation in the attic crawl space in our 1-1/2 story home in Saint Paul. They even handled the Xcel Energy rebate form for us and included the discount in our pricing. There did seem to be some miscommunication between the sales rep and the installation team that caused a few hiccups the morning of the installation, but overall everyone was very professional and committed to performing quality work.

Removed old insulation, sealed all cracks with foam, blew in new insulation. They were efficient and professional. They knew what they were doing and left the job site clean. Job well done! Thank you.

Fast scheduling, efficient work, nice workmen. A huge amount of old dirty ineffective insulation was removed, then replaced with good insulation. The house feels less drafty and the furnace isn't working so hard. The price was fair and in the same range as other quotes. We would recommend Koala to others.

Great work, great people. The result is fantastic. Note to all gardeners out there however. I had several indoor plants die inside because in my ignorance I did not realize the doors would be left open during this work, and this work happened during a MN cold snap. The work was fantastic, just upset that several plants I moved from California to here had to die.

Uriah did a fantastic job. It was 2 day job removing all of our old attic insulation, sealing problematic skylights, and spraying all new foam in our large attic. His co-worker had an injury and was limited physically on the second day. Uriah really took ownership and stepped it up to complete the job with great attention to detail and professionalism throughout.

Jon and the team from Koala (St Paul) were a joy to work with. My only regret is that someone has already blown in everywhere in our home! Everyone was very nice, however, even though plastic was laid down there was still wet boot prints on the hard wood floor and carpet. Muddy water was on the carpet and my desk. There was also insulation tracked into my bathroom and there was poop left unflushed in my upstairs bathroom toilet. Insulation was somewhat swept out of the garage and left on my driveway also. As for the insulation itself I’m not sure if it was done properly so I will be hiring someone to take a look at that. I had multiple people suggest using Koala but I’m not very impressed unfortunately. We had multiple companies come out and we chose Koala out of 4 others.

We hired this company to install additional insulation for our new home, which had significantly less insulation than recommended. The pricing was fair, their communication excellent, and the outcome/improvement fantastic—an A+ experience.

From the initial call (with Sean, who’s well spoken and super polite), to the inspection (with John, probably one of the coolest people I’ve met), to scheduling, to the work done, these guys were respectful, flexible, professional, and just downright nice. It’s fun when you get to work with people who really seem to enjoy their jobs and those they work for. Plus they’re all dads and had good kid stories, which is really cool. I would hire Taylor and his crew anytime. As far as the job itself, we couldn’t be happier. I was up there with them briefly installing a bath fan and these guys are THOROUGH. They sealed every crack and seem up there. They also helped me install the bath fan itself and entirely put in my access panel just to be nice. Saved me a solid days work. 😄 Once you consider all the rebates, which for us is like $2600, this was a pretty affordable major home upgrade which will definitely increase our property value. We recently bought a house to renovate, which included the need to update much of the home's insulation. It was a months-long project which involved rim joist insulation, attic vacuuming, garage ceiling insulation, and attic insulation. It was a highly technical and complicated insulation challenge. Overall, happy. We'll see how effective the process of new insulation, sealing the holes and gaps, blown insulation at a higher R value and when winter comes, heat loss, ice dams, energy bill, etc. The crew was great. Friendly and communicated the steps. Would've given 5 stars, but there is the unknown of how well the product will work to my advantage and site containment could've been better. With the cost of this service, I hope it will be a worthy investment. We'll see in about 2 months. I did not bother with price comparison, the price seemed fair, just more than I expected. Fingers crossed. I'm excited for a positive outcome.

My neighbor had Koala Insulation of St. Paul insulate their attic and after his rave review my wife and I decided to upgrade the insulation in our 1960's rambler and encapsulate and insulate our dirt floor crawl space under our kitchen dining area. The sales rep, Sam, came to our home, inspected our attic and crawlspace, took pictures and discussed the options and price. He was very knowledgeable and there was no high pressure sales pitch. We had a complete removal of all the old insulation and everything was sealed and re-insulated with new blown-in insulation. Our crawlspace was encapsulated and all the exterior walls were spray foamed. It was a 2 day job. The installation technicians, Taylor and Christian, were friendly, professional and knowledgeable. They showed up on time and kept us informed on the progress of the job. Taylor answered all our questions and the jobsite was cleaned up every day. What a great crew! We even got to meet Shawn, the owner, when he came to the jobsite. The air infiltration was tested before and after job completion. The results were so good that we were eligible to receive an excellent Excel energy rebate. Another great local company that I can highly recommend. Looking forward to all the energy savings!

I had a great experience with the crew at Koala Insulation. My house is a story and a half with a side attic above the kitchen, and another side attic above the garage. I had no insulation in there. Previous quotes from other insulation companies wanted me to tear off the roof to access the attics. However, when Jon came over for an estimate he clearly explained what Koala could do. Even better, his estimate was simple and super easy to understand. The crew was completely professional and easy to work with during the insulation install process. And best, it worked. My upstairs is no longer running way hotter than the rest of the house. It has really made a difference. If you want a company with high quality starting from the estimate to completing the work, Koala should be your first choice.

Shawn and Jon at Koala were excellent to work with on our quirky insulation needs. We only needed spray foam and blown in insulation in certain parts of our existing home and new addition, and they were able to do just what we needed. The communication was superb and they were very prompt in getting us scheduled. We got three different estimates based on our options and felt their prices were reasonable.

Process for removal and update of my existing attic insulation was quick, easy and well defined. Workers were polite and efficient and kept me well aware at all times of what they were doing.

I was impressed with the crew and their attention to detail. The initial crew removed the old insulation. Frost was discovered. They were up front about how the frost could cause problems with the spray foam. I followed heir instruction to remedy the issue and the sray foam and blow in insulation was done a few days later. When you schedule insulation in November and have to wait until January for the install because they are rated 5*, it better be good. They were on time, explained exactly what they would be doing and did it; vacuum old insulation out, then install new insulation, and clean up and little mess the make. My house is much warmer, no ice damns and at and R60. I throughly recommend Koala and the crew.

After two other insulation bids that were more expensive or very late in arriving we found Koala to be timely, friendly, and a much better value so we signed on the line. They showed us problem areas the others didn’t mention. They also do spray foam and blown in and we got a combination that suited us best. They set a schedule and arrived on time and the blower door test before and after showed a tremendous improvement. Now we will see what improvement in our monthly energy bills we will receive.

Koala insulation of St Paul did a great job putting new insulation in my garage. I needed things sealed up very well for a spa I was adding to my garage. The owner took a half hour out of his day to talk through with me scenarios not only on the insulation, but also performance of the insulation and how best to optimize the gas furnace and spa settings to minimize my bill. Excellent job!!

Work was done well and efficiently, in spite of the removal of old insulation being more difficult & time-consuming than anticipated. It took a little longer, but the crew was polite, tidy and friendly. The bottom line for the work was also considerably lower than another estimate we got.

The two-man crew showed up on time, they were professional and listened as we explained what we'd like them to do. They did great work and cleaned up afterwards. I'd hire them again. Thanks guys!

They performed blown in insulation and sealed areas where I was having heat loss from the inside to the attic, from start to finish they were great to work with, they took pictures of where my heat loss was coming from and explained things and how they fix the problems, I did not know how much heat loss I was having then seeing the pictures it all made sense, also when they were completed they clean everything you can't tell they were here, although I really found how much heat loss, I was having from my bathroom fan when I went to use the bathroom I noticed the spray foam had leaked around the fan and dripped down because the gap was so big. Excellent company, excellent work

I am glad I went with koala insulation for my attic work (spray foam, added insulation, helped with venting, and added a cool flap at entrance of attic to keep the warm air in your house not losing it into the attic. the guys did what was expected, in record time, and cleaned up nicely!
