Stopped by the McKinney store on a Saturday for the first time and the team listened and helped me choose DIY products. Their advice improved what I had already done. We still had issues, so I scheduled service and they responded fast. The technician confirmed my DIY work, fixed what I missed, and showed me how to improve going forward. Communication stayed clear the entire time and follow up on next steps came the same day. Everything felt coordinated between the store and service team and I would use them again.

Purchased 4 Rodent bait stations and poison on Nov 11 2025 - placed three around house and one by the pool equipment - as of Nov 16 found one dead rat at the side of the house and one large dead rat by the equipment - never had any poison work so well and fast - EXCELLENT PRODUCT - the stuff at the big box stores were non-effective and waste of money

I absolutely love this place. It has saved me hundreds of dollars over the last few years. I buy the chemicals and do my own pest control instead of having one of the "big" companies. That way I can do it when I want to - I don't have to do it on their time. And I can do a very thorough job. I used to have a pest control company and it was good, but when I do my own, I can concentrate on doors, windows, weep holes, etc. Those big companies are always in a hurry, barely spraying anything. For what I paid for one month of pest control I get enough to last me for a year or two from this place. It takes me an hour or less to do this, and my results are as good or better than with the pros. The people at the store are knowledgeable and friendly and will answer all of your questions.

They helped me put together a plan for my yard and sell high quality fertilizers in the store. Better than you can get at big box stores.<br>They also do pest control but I didn't use that.

Good bye old pest service. After years of trying to fend off rats and hundreds of dollars on car damage, a different path was needed.<br>The staff was very helpful in helping us deal with our rat problems around our house. After listen to our concerns about our pet and other wildlife, they suggested a particular rat bait. They looked at our property on Google maps and suggested bait station locations.<br><br>The rats love our new all you can eat buffet stations. Sure enough, the rats dramatically slowed their feeding after a few days as the staff said they should.<br><br>With our pest service raising quarterly pest control rates, we are going to try our hands using the expertise of the Pest Shop team.

I will start with saying that I was very impressed with The Pest Shop's service. I reached out to the owner Mike Smith over Nextdoor during a discussion. I have a horrible fly problem as well as wasps nests. Due to my work schedule, I was not able to go to their location for product. Mike quickly arranged to have one of his guys, Zak, come out to spray the stronger product front, back, and inside garage. Zak was extremely professional, personable and very thorough not only with his treatment but with educating me on the typical behavior of flies, which I had had no idea. Anyway, he also prepped a bottle of a "Fly Bait" concoction, left me with the product and provided instructions for the solution so that I could do myself when the bottle ran out. I've had quite a few pest services over the years and this company is by far the best. Give them a try, you won't be disappointed!

I Had Carpenter ant issue for couple month and used few different techniques and different products with advises from call them experts from both those big retail stores, but unfortunately after a week they are back again .<br>until 2 months ago i introduced to pest shop from my cousin , I met Mr. Mike ,He is very educated and knowledgeable person , after he determined the issue and educate me he sold me what should i use and how to use it too . The Price is very High because its almost half else where but so far it works ,the ants are gone almost to zero and i hope stay this way . Mike was very helpful and knowledgeable. the only issue is mark up is little not reasonable, no price tag on products, there was no pressure to sell and my issue is resolved. even i wasn't feeling good if i give 4star you defiantly deserve one extra from my cousin and his experience with you and i hope he make it way better experience for you,who may read my reviews. sorry for my poor English this is one of my very few reviews on google.

My husband decided to start doing our pest control during Covid to prevent people from coming into our home to treat the home. Luckily we don’t have too many issues indoors, but the pest control company we used charged the same rate no matter if they were treating inside or not. We decided it was not worth paying for quarterly services for inside and out only to have someone treat the exterior.<br><br>When we first called the store we were warmly greeted by a guy named Mike. My husband told him that we were looking to treat our home and how we were having problems with ants in the yard, mosquitos in the bushes, and random bugs here and there. He told my husband about various products that would take care of our problem and advised us to come in. We visited the location the next day and he took time to explain all of the things my husband would need and what he would need to do. We bought the recommended products and my husband has been faithfully following the plan given to him. It has been 2 years and we couldn’t be happier with the results. We don’t have to worry about our boys getting bit by ants while playing in the yard. We find the material my husband purchased from this place actually does a more effective job than the ones used by the professional pest control company. I don’t have to keep calling someone out to continually treat my home all while dealing with the same issues over and over again which is a lot less stressful for me. We are glad we found a solution that works and if anything comes up we are confident Mike will help us find a way to remedy the issue.

Started using The Pest Shop about a year ago when I had a rodent issue. I was tired of the 'guessing game' and throwing $ away at the local DIY stores and not getting long-term results. So, I turned to the 'professional' DIY shop. They gave me what I needed for the immediate and long-term solution, and I have no more issue. Now they are my 'pest' shop for termites, chiggers, mosquitos, ants, etc... Again, they came through. In the long run, they have saved me $, time and aggravation. I love their 'solve your problem' approach, with no 'high-pressure' sales service. Using The Pest Shop is good for my family environment. I'll be back.

Had a rodent issue in my house I just recently bought. Had an inspection from another company that seemed astronomically high, called the Pest Shop and didn't even pay a 10th of the cost! Staff was very knowledgeable and helped show me where issue was. Would highly recommend for any Pest needs.

I bought 2 products at this store based on the recommendation from the store employee. Was fighting ants for 2 months without any results. Ants keep getting inside the house. I wanted to return the products because they are expensive and cost around $70 for both, but was told that this store has no refund policy which I was not aware about. I wanted to talk to the owner and the store employee told me to call or come the next day between 10 am and 12 pm. When I called the next day at the time given, I was told that there is no owner at the store and try the next day. I tried several times along with my wife, but every time we called we were told that the owner is not available and that we do not know how to use the product. I am sure we can push the nozzle in the spray can and spread granules around our house. I was told to reapply both products, so we kept reapplying every week and after every time it rained. Both products do not work and we are out of $70.

I don't have to come here often, but when I do, I get great advice. The products might cost a little bit more than buying online or at a big retailer, but is it worth it because they are solid products. That plus you're getting good advice. It's nice to be able to support a local business.

They are always so informative and helpful.<br>I went there this past Friday due to having a horrible fly infestation!!! Yuk!!! Something I had never had before. Flies were everywhere inside my home! Just horrible!! They quickly understood my problem and suggested a product that was outstanding!!! I went home, used the spray according to their direction and GONE!!! Walk in, show or describe pests, and Pest shop provides solution. I received advice about options, picked the best for my situation and applied thr chemicals as instructed. And it worked. Saved 2/3 on first application.

Thank heavens we found "The Pest Shop"! Mike, the owner, saved the day for us! We were concerned about rats in the attic of our home and the snakes they attract (really a scary situation). We had several extermination companies out to come up with a solution. We couldn't believe that the solution was going to cost about $9,000!!! When we talked to Mike he was confident, knowledgeable, and experienced. He calmly set us up with a baiting system that was downright cheap and told us how to implement the system in detail. Problem solved! He didn't try to oversell us, just enabled us to work on the situation ourselves with confidence. Now that it is one year later, we have almost no activity at all in the traps and no evidence of rats or snakes. Wow, what a drastic improvement! I had a mix of common ants and fire ants entering my house and all over my master bath. I have a regular pest control company but could not get anyone to come out since it was the weekend. I knew the stuff sold at the big box stores doesn’t really work and was hoping to get some better products. I brought in a couple of sample ants and received very thorough information and left with the correct product to treat the issue. I do notice some complaints about price. And yes, I would say the prices are higher than what you will find at places like amazon. But amazon doesn’t come with the excellent customer service, and the product in your hand immediately in a pinch. I see no reason not to support these guys, even if it means a little extra money.

Working with Mike has proven to be an amazing fix. I had a huge fire ant issue when i lived in an apartment complex on the 3rd floor. My roommate at the time was severely allergic to them and the apartment wouldn’t send anyone out until the next week ..mike wasted no time on sending someone out and at a reasonable price considering it was Sunday. Felt like i was completely taken care of and he was more than willing to make all of my questions we’re answered.

I've used Mike for over a year now. Started with pest control after a bad ant problem. Blossomed into using all his lawn stuff. Fired my lawn folks and never looked back. And Mike's knowledge is phenomenal. The BEST!!

I have been here a couple of times. Once for an ant problem and now for termite treatment. The owner knew how to treat for the ants and how they would probably be nesting. And now they had the Termidor liquid for termites which I had read is better than the generic. And he knew all about it and gave detailed instructions.

It is hard to give a score. The staff is nice. But the price is crazy. I paid $69.95 for Demon Max 16 oz, which Amazon has it around $25. I understand that this price including service and the knowledge. But I won't come back for the same product. Because I have the knowledge now, until it comes a different situation.

We have rats in the attic and can not get ride of them. Mike (the owner) was very educational and informative. He gave suggestions on how remove them. I highly recommend the Pest Shop.

I share similar thoughts to Ryan's feedback. Service was fine but the prices are marked up like crazy! I purchased "Onslaught Fast Cap" for a little over $100 dollars with tax. I found the same product at online pest control retailers for $52.00 and on Amazon for $67.82. I understand for prices to be a bit more versus online but the difference is too significant for me to ever come back or recommend this pest shop. I felt swindled.<br><br>I did read the response from the owner that he had for Ryan. So I brought the one star to a three star. I appreciate the owner taking the time to respond to feedback and caring what is being said about his business. As a consumer and probably most average consumers, we are always seeking for the best deal and lowest prices. The prices here are high dollar but at least you will get expert advice and service with it.

I have made purchases from The Pest Shop several times over the years for various pest problems (ants, roaches, termites). Such is life as a Texas homeowner, no?<br><br>I agree with all of the 5-star reviews in that the staff is extremely knowledgeable, there are no high-pressure sales tactics, and they offer professional-grade products that are not available at the big box stores.<br><br>The issue I have is with their pricing and return policies. You'll notice when you walk in that there are no price tags on anything. You have to ask or wait and find out at checkout.<br><br>After making my last purchase, I decided to do some online research about the application of the product. I discovered that the $90 bottle I'd been sold could be purchased on Amazon for $40. (Taurus SC 20oz)<br><br>Now I'm not saying I expect this place to offer Amazon prizing. I value the 5-minute consultation and feel it should be compensated. I want to support small, local businesses and am willing to pay a modest premium to them. But 125% is not a modest premium to me. I was left feeling sorta ripped off.<br><br>That brings me to their return policy. It's printed on the receipt, which for some reason is labeled as an invoice. (Aren't invoices customarily received before you pay rather than after?)<br><br>It stipulates "All sales of chemical based products are final." Shouldn't you be told prior to making a purchase that whatever you're probably buying cannot be returned for refund? Seems to me they intentionally conceal their pricing and return policies.<br><br>I like the place otherwise and feel they offer a great resource. I just wish they were more transparent in their dealings with customers.

Went in with a couple of ants in a jar that we plucked from our house. We already had a steady stream of them crawling from the ground, up the side of the brick, into the attic/roof. Terrifyingly, the shop owner identified them as Carpenter Ants, but then quickly assured us that these are not as destructive as termites and can be handled quickly and effectively. He recommended a spray and answered all of our questions. I sprayed that evening, and the very next day those ants were falling off our house. Two days later, not an ant to be seen! Could not be more pleased with our experience! Thank you so much!

Extremely pleased with their service and recommendations. Had an infestation of fruit flies/ gnats and short of bombing the house didn't know what else to do. They recommended PT Alpine spray, told me how to use it and the problem went away within 24 hours. The PT Alpine spray is the most amazing insect control I've seen. The Pest Shop is excellent! I called Marty about a bug problem I had and she asked me to bring the bug in so she could look at it under their powerful microscope. She determined the type of bug it was and recommended the correct insecticide and preventive measures to take to keep the bugs from coming inside. She said to check for any light coming through the door and fill those, then use the spray outside of doors and windows to prevent them from coming in. It worked! Thanks Marty!
