Do It Yourself Pest & Weed Control

This place used to have a different location and gave me great baits to kill attic rats about 15 years ago. But it moved and I never knew where it went. I really trusted them for stuff that worked. You buy different things from the grocery store, but it didn't seem as effective.<br><br>Hearing noises in the attic. I didn't know what, but suspected squirrels.<br><br>Went to a different place first due to the time of day and they had longer hours. They suggested it's a high percentage possibility that it's rats for this area. Bought an outside rat bait trap and some rat bait (poison) packets to toss around the attic.<br><br>DIY Pest Control was my second stop and I made sure to head out earlier this time. As soon as I saw their card, I realized this was the same place I had used years ago that gave me stuff that worked like a charm. And yes, they had those packets I used back then. Unlike the first place, they warned me to use gloves. If I don't, rats can smell the human on the bait and will avoid it. Why didn't the first place mention anything about that? I was handling the outdoor bait box and the bait I put in it with my bare hands. They leaned towards rats too. So all I bought was some of those rat baits I had used that worked.<br><br>I was a little suspicious though because it didn't sound like rats/mice. So I also bought a trail cam from a sporting goods store. Took a few days, 3 different camera positions, and adding lighting, but I finally caught the culprit. Or one culprit. A squirrel. Could be rats too and more squirrels. The rats have plenty of bait to get them. But there's no squirrel bait available. Not to poison them anyway.<br><br>Went back armed with knowing what enemy I was pursuing. This time the owner was there. She's very knowledgeable. She hooked me up with fox urine to scare them away. Told me that squirrels will probably avoid a trap near their nesting place (assuming they're nesting in my attic). And that I need to trap them outside. So I also picked up some squirrel bait (non poisonous, just a lure). So I will relocate my trap outside and then will relocate or kill them. Leaning towards kill. There are plenty of squirrels in wooded areas. Don't need overpopulation forcing them to become a problem for somebody else.<br><br>Poisoning squirrels is illegal because they're game animals in Texas. Don't want somebody killing them for food after the squirrel consumed poison and now the human gets poisoned from the meat. Killing them away from your home requires a hunting license. But killing them as pests on your property doesn't. I've seen a guy on youtube use a cornmeal/baking soda mix that's only deadly to rodents/squirrels. If that's all they have to eat (like being trapped in a cage), they will. The baking soda will produce gases that their bodies aren't built to release fast enough and it will build up and pop their digestive tract open, killing them. Haven't heard the squirrels for several days since the fox urine and haven't moved the trap from the attic yet. But will this weekend, planning to relocate it to the back yard and hopefully eliminate some of these pests.

If you want to do your own fertilizer and weed control or pest control this is the place to shop. They carry same products as the commercial companies for soooo much less than you would pay for a service.<br><br>I discovered a grub control that actually works. I had been buying the HD (won’t name them but you’ll know who it is) for years with no success and after one treatment with their recommended product- no more grubs.<br><br>The owner is extremely knowledgeable about the products, small woman owned business we can all support, and super helpful.<br><br>So highly recommended. I drive about 30 minutes to shop here and it’s worth it!

I think this place might be going out of business because the woman seller was very pushy. I ended up not buying anything because everything cost twice as much as online and other stores.

We came down with a clothes moth infestation in our family room. I went to the store to get pesticides. The lady in the store proceeded to hand me a can of Precor2625 (which sells for about $30 online) and give me a 15 minute lecture on entomology. She charged me over $50. However, that is not my main complaint. My main complaint is that Precor 2625 is not labeled for the control of clothes moths! BTW, she was quick to point out the "All Sales Are Final" sign while she was ripping me off! Needless to say, we still have clothes moths even after I sprayed the carpet, drapes, and upholstery and spent the afternoon doing it. A week later, we are STILL killing moths so it had no affect on the larvae or eggs. I've been in this store before but will NEVER go back again!

I’ve been shopping here for over 15 years. They undoubtedly have good products but I won’t be back after being insulted by a very rude and loud woman today. Went in to buy something I could spray for ants that can be used inside and outside. She pointed me to a different type of product. When I tried to explain again she got frustrated. As I started to leave she raised her voice and I asked her to not shout. I thought I’d try again and walked back over. She tried to explain that she’s a loud talker and asking her to talk quieter is the same as her telling me to not chew my gum “like a cow”. I left and told her wouldn’t be back.<br>P.S. found a comparable product on Amazon for 40% less than their price.

Very rude woman in the store who seemed completely annoyed that I walked in the front door.<br>She was in the back room & acted as if I was interrupting her by coming in as a customer.<br>Meanwhile, I was the only customer in the entire store!<br>Then she tried to oversell me on things that I was not interested in….honestly this place must still be in business in spite of the terrible attitude exemplified by this female employee!<br>Based on this experience, I am not a fan!

We have shopped here for many years, starting with lawn care and continuing to all sorts of pest control. It’s a small storefront but packed with all you need. High quality, professional products and knowledgeable staff. Can’t go wrong here! You just need to put in the manpower at home!

If you have any pest problem this is the place to go I had bed bugs and tried a lot of things from Home Depot that just never worked until I came across this place they are very helpful take their time on explaining all and every solution possible that will 100 percent work! They also helped us with mosquito, ants and cockroaches problem.<br>Anytime someone asks me how to solve any pests problems I send them here ,No doubt!

Knowledgeable folks and they have what you need for most any pest treatment. Plus be sure and smell the piñon wood on the way in, maybe grab some of that too, it is quite nice in several ways.

Lauri and her staff are AMAZING!! I have a back yard that has tons of mesquitos. I went to their shop, thinking i was just getting something for a quick fix, but they provided me with knowledge, how and when to use the treatment. They were very detailed. I went there for advice on a specific bug in our house and got nothing but sound advice.

We have used this place for a few years with reasonable success. This last encounter has turned me off. We spent $75 earlier for a roach infestation and then I got a bunch of flies and bought a $14 fly paper type of device that did nothing. So after 2 days, I just wanted a refund and the person there was very cranky about needing a receipt even though I told her I could show her the transaction on my bank app.

Unfortunately I had a rodent problem at my home which terrified me after leaving a bag of raisins out accidentally in my garage for an extended period of time. I immediately went to do it yourself pest control and Lauri was an angel. She knew exactly what my problem was after sending her photos and she walked me through the entire process to eradicate the issue. I immediately went into action with her game plan and caught. the rodent within 30 minutes of coming home and following her directions. I have never done this before and was a bit intimidated, but with her assistance and the appropriate bates/poison, I got the job done!!! Lauri is very knowledgeable and extremely helpful. We later followed up on a long-term plan so this won't happen again. I can't say enough about her professionalism , knowledge, products and helpfulness. You won't be disappointed if you go here for all of your past needs.

They have most efective weed kilers I could not find in Metroplex area east of I-75. Very clear and patient explaining usage. Worth visiting. Made my life easier.

This place is massive. You name it, they probably have it. They have big game night. Employees walking the aisles to help and answer any questions you have. They have a great model paint selection. Great gem that Plano is lucky to have.

This place is a joke, and the weirdos that run this place are very dishonest. Their specialty is conning and robbing the customer. Unfortunately, I fell victim the first time I walked in their store not knowing any better. They sold me some chemicals and charged my Credit card, but told me it will come in couple of days that I can come back and pick up. Making the story short, weeks later and they still don’t have it, while they held my $. Many attempts and requests to get a refund, went unanswered, not returning phone calls, and giving BS excuses when I go in person to the store. One excuse by the Weirdo worker there telling me he can’t get hold of the weirdo owner for days, yah right. Anyways, I had my Credit Card bank deal with them and get my Money back which took three months to do. Be careful with those clowns. There are a lot better, cheaper, more knowledgeable, more honest and professional places in the DFW area that you can get DYI supplies from. Just shop around.

I've gone to this store for years. They have high quality products that I can't buy anywhere else and knowledgeable clerks that will ask questions that help you get exactly the product you need. We go there whenever we have some sort of bug problem at home or in our RV. We're lucky in Plano to have this combo of face to face individualized help and high quality products. Other places I lived you're stuck with whatever home depot sells or wasting money online.

We drove up here from Wilmer to get help with our German Roaches. Before we got to the store, they had already pulled what we needed and had instructions ready. Very personal service. We will be back.

Good customer service . However their prices for supplies are rather high. I bought a 20 oz. bottle of anti-termite product from them for $90. Later I checked Amazon and they sell the exact same bottle for $40.

I own a pet supply store and started reselling their products, as well as using them in my house and at the business. All my customers are incredibly happy. They are very knowledgeable and prompt. Definitely don't believe the bad reviews. There will always be people to say something negative.

At first I thought the employees were very professional and helpful and explained the products well. They were prompt in picking up the phone and in calling us back. However, after we purchased the products and used them in our home, we did not see the results we wanted. We purchased the flea spray as well as the flea bomb. We followed the instructions as per re-spraying and vacuuming regularly. I have had no luck getting back in touch with them after the fact, and have left voicemails and called at least 5 times to no avail. For some reason they are not picking up the phone. Overall not pleased with the products or the customer service.

The owner of the Business Laurie Smith was going to sell me some cubicles well she was a bit rude and I told her we were gonna have a problem so I wanted to back out of the deal. Nevermind the fact that I have a window cleaning company and she wanted hers done. After I backed out of the deal she refused to give me my money back will not pay her bill and forwards all the calls. She is dodging us and her staff is so embarressed by her actions they dare not say anything but when went the police her husband camps out in a truck outside incase cops come so they can bounce.
