1st Choice is an outstanding company with highly competent technicians and a sound team behind them. Their ethical treatment of us as a customer was a breath of fresh air.

I would highly recommend 1st Choice for so many reasons but if I had to sum it up....price, transparency, care, and consistency. Every single one of their guys that have come out have shown that level of care which is a true testament to the values the company exemplifies.

My 30 day review. So far the 5 ton a/c and air handler is working fine which any other company could have gotten and installed<br>for a lesser price. Did research on the company showing A+ rating on several sites. My bad. Paid extra thinking I was getting a premium service. Here's my story.<br>Everything started out fine they removed my old unit then the problem's started. The air handler would not fit through the access door was to long so instead of bringing it back down and disassembling it to get it to fit they tried using a pry bar a few times then decided they would bang on my rafters trying to get it to fit for approximately 20 minutes.<br>While doing so dropped a water bottle and a drill onto laundry room tile floor luckily didn't break the tile. Then while banging on the rafters they dropped a hammer and put a hole in my ceiling along with hairline cracks where wall and ceiling meet 6' and 8' long on the walls underneath where the air handler sat. Tim came out and saw what had happened and told his crew cab to take the air handler down take it apart and reassemble it in the Attic which they should have done instead of trying to force it up.<br>Tim said he would have his drywall guy come out and patch it. Two weeks later their quality control man comes out and sees the whole assuming it was patched<br>Call the office and finally got the drywall guy to come out next day and repair it.<br>Took him 2 hours.<br>When they brought me my paperwork with warranty last name was spelled wrong.<br>Also the wifi thermostat they brought out has their logo lit up on a thermostat which to me is quite annoying and locking me into their services. It's like they're advertising in my home. Asked for another thermostat without the logo along with warranty papers with the correct last name. As of 9/24 still nothing.<br>Want to help out the local company's but now having second thoughts for doing it.<br>Good luck to those reading this.<br>(Update to 3 stars.) All issues have been taken care of. Just waiting some exteneded warranty papers work.<br>4 month update still getting excessive humming / vibration noise 5 minutes after heater cycle turns on. Woke me up twice last night. Had to call technician out again<br>To see if this can be corrected. Have been at four of my neighbors houses they do not have this issue. I will leave another update later to see if this ever gets corrected. Last time out was told to much refrigerant in the system.<br>Update 2/2/26. Jeo came out to install a soundproofing blanket and a soft start unit on the heat pump. Just got rid of the humming noise I had been hearing but now in heat mode temperature will not get over 75° coming out the vent so will not warm up the house. Call in and have another technician coming out to check it again. This is getting very frustrating.<br>2/3/26 Manny the technician came out found a crossed wire causing the compressor to shut down on the soft start unit. Removed the soft start unit and installed some pabs<br>Underneath the heat pump which helped lower the humming noise. Checked the temp. Coming out indoor vents was at<br>109°. While a quality control follow-up is standard practice and I had simply slipped through the cracks, they took full ownership of the situation without hesitation.<br><br>A representative came out, answered all of my questions, addressed my concerns, and got me scheduled to repair the scuttle. The response was professional, proactive, and reassuring.<br><br>From reception to sales to the technicians, every team member I interacted with was top-notch, friendly, professional, and genuinely committed to making things right. Their willingness to listen and act quickly speaks volumes about their customer service and integrity.<br><br>I truly appreciate how seriously they take feedback and customer satisfaction, and this follow-up experience reinforced my confidence in recommending 1st Choice Mechanical.<br><br>ORIGINAL:<br>After attending a home show, I learned that 1st Choice Mechanical was offering energy audits and decided to take advantage of the opportunity. The audit itself was very informative, and I discovered that both my ducting and AC system were not compliant for the size of my home. 1st Mechanical provided a detailed quote, and after obtaining three additional quotes that were roughly half the price, I circled back to them because I was genuinely impressed by their professionalism.<br><br>I asked why their pricing was significantly higher, and they took the time to reassess the project, lowered their price, and clearly explained the differences in scope and quality between their work and that of other HVAC companies. Based on that transparency, I ultimately chose to move forward with 1st Choice Mechanical and was scheduled for the same week.<br><br>The installation team arrived on time, were friendly, and worked efficiently. They completed the entire project in one day, which was impressive. However, I was disappointed with the housekeeping and communication surrounding the work. Insulation was left in clumps throughout my xeriscaping/landscaping, and there were no preventative measures taken to protect items in my garage. My washer, dryer, bikes, TV, and other belongings were covered in insulation dust, and no cleanup was done upon their departure. While it only took me about 30 minutes to clean everything with a leaf blower and towel, I would have prepared differently had I known what to expect.<br><br>Additionally, I was told the team would only be working in the attic over the house and not the garage, and I wasn’t advised to remove or protect any attic items. When I later inspected the attic, I found a white substance on a suitcase that I was unable to remove. The only direction I was given beforehand was to move my cars out of the garage. I also noticed insulation falling out of the vents throughout the house, requiring me to remove the vent covers and vacuum them myself.<br><br>They replaced the scuttle hole as part of the project, but the workmanship there was subpar. The staples were not fully secured, the wood was already cracked, and the cover is slightly too small for the opening. Lastly, there was no follow-up from the team to check on how the project went or to address any questions or concerns. While some of these issues may be standard practice, they were not communicated to me beforehand or discussed afterward.<br><br>Based on other reviews, I am confident the ductwork itself was done properly, and I appreciate the warranty, which gives me peace of mind as we head into summer. Overall, I would recommend 1st Choice Mechanical to friends and family for their professionalism, technical knowledge, and quality of work, but I do wish there had been better communication and attention to cleanup and customer follow-up.

I am scheduled for my new air conditioner in 10 days--however, I sent a text Sat. evening explaining our problem. They responded quickly and said a technician would arrive Sunday morning!! Tim and Nate are absolutely WONDERFUL! I had 4 quotes to fix the hot/cold zones in my two story house. Each vendor all came to the same conclusion; however the solutions to my problem were all different and two were boarderline fraudulent! Tim took several hours to scour over my electric bills, perform an energy audit and then explain (NOT man-splain) several options to correct the duct work in my 30yo home. Nate came next to assure the plan was feasible without damaging anything structural in my attic. To top it off I was having company in 4 days so 1st Choice arrived at 7am on the agreed work day with 6 trucks and 7 men! They worked until 9pm in order to assure everything was operational. This type of service, attention to detail and honesty is rare and I greatly appreciate the quality and value of this family run local business.

I hired 1st Choice for two projects. A/C ventilation updates in the attic and a variety of plumbing fixes. The crew for the A/C ventilation project was great. Covered everything in my closet since attic access is in the closet. They put cloths on the floor to prevent tracking in dirt and cleaned up very well. The plumbing projects were replacing faucet parts, replacing leaky hose bibs and a water heater flush. Brandon was very professional, knowledgeable, and explained what he was doing. Price I noted is for both projects.

We had both our AC units break in the middle of the summer. 1st Choice immediately came out, presented multiple options and ultimately gave us the best price with an immediate installation timeline. Manny, who we worked with from start to finish is an ALL-STAR! He was able to trouble shoot some of the hiccups that presented themselves, communicated and worked late to ensure my family and I had AC in our home. My A/C system had been limping along a bit, and finally died. i did an inquiry through Yelp and 1st Choice Mechanical responded right away. Jake came out and opened the unit up and documented all the issues for me (it was really quite a mess). There were several items that obviously needed replacing and a great deal of cleaning to do. The cleaning and repair was finished swiftly and the unit sounds and works so much better.<br><br>The people from 1st Choice Mechanical were all very lovely to work with and very professional. i will be happy to continue working with them in the years to come to do a better job of maintaining my system. i'm so glad i contacted 1st Choice Mechanical.

We had a a full HVAC replacement with 1st Choice Mechanical in 2024. In the summer of 2025, it was discovered that the AC unit was not installed correctly by the installer, causing the pan to leak, and causing our ceiling drywall to cave in. Given that this happened, First choice was very responsive to what took place, they are currently taking care of everything that happened and have been very responsive to me and keeping me up to date with everything... The only thing I can really say is that their after hour answering service sucks, and that's putting it nicely.<br><br>Things happen in life, mistakes happen. Nobody got hurt, and 1st Choice is doing everything they can to make things right, so I can't fault them for that. I'd honestly still give them 5 stars if it wasn't for the after hours service that the owner is already scheduled to discuss with them.

1st choice was crazy fast scheduling someone to come to the house. Jeo inspected our unit and gave me a great breakdown of where the problem is, recommended a resolution and broke the cost into an easy to understand estimate.

I can't say anything about the prompt schedule of a inspection of our AC and heating to make sure everything is running smoothly. I got first rate service from Justin, he was respectful of our home and very communication on our issues and addressing the issues.

Just had some tweaks made to my system after the 1st. month.<br>The system has worked great since day one but I had some issues with these people after my initial installation caused some peripheral property damage. The problem drug on longer than I felt it should have to repair that damage. I now feel that that delay was caused by miscommunication on both our parts. That damage is now repaired. I was happy enough overall to use them again to replace my 30-year-old Water Heater that came with the house when I bought it. In doing that install everything was updated to current code. I would not hesitate to refer this company.

We had an AC unit installed two years ago by a company that went out of business shortly after the installation. At the one-year mark, we contacted 1st Choice Mechanical Cooling and Heating for a yearly service. The technician who came out was knowledgeable, complimented the installation of the ducts, furnace, and outside unit, and assured us there were no concerns.<br><br>This year, at the two-year mark, we scheduled another yearly service with 1st Choice. However, the new technician gave us a very different assessment. He advised that about 50% of our ducts were not properly sealed, found tape covering an important section of the furnace (which he replaced with screws, warning of potential carbon monoxide risks), and noted that the outside unit was using excess energy, causing it to start and stop harshly. He then provided a list of costly repair and maintenance options.<br><br>Because this diagnosis completely contradicted what we were told the year prior, I contacted 1st Choice and explained the situation. I asked that another technician inspect the unit for confirmation and was told by the representative that a supervisor would call me back immediately and that the inspection would be free of charge. While they did waive the fee, no one has followed up with me, nor has there been any concern or effort to resolve this issue.<br><br>From my experience, it feels as though the company would rather ignore the matter than ensure their technicians are providing consistent and reliable service to their customers.

I just had my quality control inspection, and Josh looked at everything with a critical eye and committed to rectify some additional items that were not done 100% to his satisfaction. The QC concept is unique from my experience with other contractors, and it was refreshing to have an honest assessment of the items that could be further tweaked to ensure the A/C system is working optimally.

Our air conditioner was blowing the breaker, and Jeo came out to check on the system. Turned out to be a bad capacitor, which Jeo replaced and got the system up and running. The true reason for the five star review is that Jeo went above and beyond to assess the health and any issues with the system, and then explained the results to me. Learned a lot, including how to use our three zone system most efficiently.<br><br>As a public service I want to mention that a capacitor failure at the condenser is VERY common. If you’re handy, and not pressured for an immediate fix, consider replacing the capacitor as a first line of repair. It will cost about $30 for the part from Amazon. We paid over $500 for this service, which is inline with what other HVAC companies charge- within the last year we’ve had about four friends with this issue, and the cap replacement was $550-$600

When our a/c went out overnight, Jake came over within an hour of my call. He diagnosed the problem and was able to get the system up and running within a few hours! He was very professional, knowledgeable and it was great that he had the parts needed in his truck! Will definitely use again.

Most recently I had an AC go out at a rental this past weekend at midnight (in July), so I shot them a message thinking I'd hear back the following morning or Monday. Sure enough, they got right back to me and their technician Spencer (shout out to him) actually drove out there and took care of it at 1am. I continue to be impressed by them every time they come out and they have earned a client for life. I've met most or all of their techs and every one of them is professional, communicates well, and are all very knowledgeable. They're always up front and honest and their pricing is very fair. Excellent service! Justin was our tech and did such a fantastic job! We will be using them again for any of our AC needs. The reason for the call was a clogged condensation line. I called multiple HVAC companies and 1st mechanical stood out as the best. Thank you so so much for getting to me quickly and efficiently and being reasonably priced!

Dean is heaven sent to us. He did a thorough check on our AC. He explained very well the current condition of our unit and gave us several options. Kevin and Carlos did an amazing job, super clean, respectful and communicated exceptionally well during the installation process. They arrived on time, worked hard all day in the 105+ degree heat (and in the attic). I was very impressed with how clean they worked protecting the work area. We would recommend them highly.<br><br>Update: We had a little issue the day after installation (4th of July) where I couldn’t get the system to cool (my wife was on a zoom call in the room and had to retreat to another room). I messed around with it trying to figure it out without the operating/instruction manual. I messaged for help and they responded quickly, I also requested the manual (numerous times) to try and troubleshoot on my own. They promptly scheduled me for the afternoon of the following day. No mention of manual.<br><br>The following morning I messed around with it for a bit and got it running. The issue was more than likely user error (hence the request for the manual). I messaged them once I got it going so they wouldn’t have to waste a trip, also requesting a manual again. GHOSTED.<br><br>By the way, they never responded to us about canceling the appointment but I guess they got it because no one showed up. From a company using the latest system of multiple text messages and emails I find this worry some.<br><br>5 stars for Kevin and Carlo’s the install team<br>2 stars for customer care on the sales/logistics/customer care.<br><br>Crossing my fingers that after spending 5k for a system we aren’t in for a frustrating (3 year) warranty period.

Jeo was very thorough, professional and considerate. He went over everything and with photos and explained as he went through each one. He wore booties every time he came in as well. Overall really great experience!

Honest, professional, knowledgeable.. All around great company. This is the 4th company we’ve had come out in the last few months, each company came out a few times, so it’s been quite the fiasco with several days spent in 85+ degrees inside on the days that it’s been exceptionally hot out. These guys actually spent the extra time here to figure it out and they offer a guarantee on our contract so if their replacement does not fix the issue they will put our family into a hotel until they do. They’re also considerably cheaper than other companies and they broke down the issue for us so that we could understand what was happening. Professional and polite when in our home as well. 1st Choice just installed a new HVAC system and I could not be more pleased with the service. EVERYONE from Tori in the office, whom I have decided to adopt as my grand daughter, to Brendan and Eric that installed the system, have been truly fabulous. These guys are a GOD send. I had an issue with my AC and they came out on the same day. That right there is amazing. They listened to my concerns and made the necessary adjustments.<br><br>Although the initial estimate had some miscommunication, they remained proactive after I expressed my concerns. CUSTOMERS BEWARE: This company has had strong presence of advertising is my neighborhood in recent months (west valley/Glendale, AZ). So I though I would give them a try.. I called and set a appointment to have them give me a quote on some AC duct work in the attic. At first, it was great work customer service and they scheduled me quick. I was eager to work with them. Then I received a call back from there manager Torrey. She asked me how old my units are. I told her they where three years old. She then said, why don't call you call the company that installed them". I stated i couldn't because there out of business. I stated to her that my units where functional it was duct work that I needed work on. She then stated that she would call be back and that she needs to speak to the owner. Five minutes later I got a call back and they stated there declining my business. I asked " why aren't you a AC company. She stated they don't want to take any liabilities. I believe this is a very small company that chooses the work they would like to perform and not here to serve my great community/neighborhood. Possible start up company that's just in the service world to make a buck.. or they just want to install new units for you.. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL COMPANY. I will not refer this company to family, friends and neighbors.

Working with 1st Choice on a full HVAC replacement was a fantastic experience start to finish. Everyone on the team was exceptional and skilled. The estimator was honest, courteous and professional. He smelled and fixed a gas leak I didn't even notice due to my allergies. Their pricing is reasonable, they were patient and held pricing for us. They installed everything as promised. The installers exceeded my expectations in every way. They were on-time, courteous, professional, quick, quiet, finished the project early, and cleaned up everything as promised. I am impressed by everyone I encountered at this company. They came back to do a post install test and made special accommodations for me whenever I needed them. This was our second time having 1st Choice Mechanical out for an AC tuneup, and we’re happy with our choice.<br>Very impressed with Preston. He was very knowledgeable and showed me the ins-and-outs of the AC unit and how it should run properly. He opened the thing up and really gave it a much needed deep clean.<br><br>Will hire again for future needs.

This guy's install new ac at my house, cause damage to the ceiling and attic access, Abraham see with his own eyes the damage and he decided to deny,need to wait like 3 weeks for repairs, third party company perform this job Charlie did great job, the 2 young guy's who install the attic ac was very frustrated because the old unit was more big they decided to cut the unit in pieces (all good with this) but I don't know why one of them decided to dismantle the new unit as well, the new one is more smaller than the older and fit good,the guy was pulling like crazy power cables, I asked him why, he said I need to do this,finally he destroyed. I'm not sure if there's broken cables tied with some tape, to me just to make more light weight maybe was to heavy for them, also I offered my help to lift up the unit, the unit is about 70 to 90 pounds maybe, I lift the unit in the ground by my self with 2 surgery in my shoulder.<br>Don't trust about the arrival time, arrival time was at 12pm and arrived around 5pm, I waiting until 7pm and I decided to leave my house open until they finish up the installation, they promised to replace all the batteries from smoke alarm, I asked already again and no one responded.<br>At the same time I was placed one appointment to my other property just for AC unit maintenance my unit was working perfectly before when the gentleman comes down from the roof he showed me a free quote for over 3 thousand dollars, I refused to go forward with this very bad repairs, my AC unit is working well until now a little noise after the maintenance but working condition, I got the special price for ac maintenance almost $20 and the lady by phone call trying to charge $80.<br>I'm not recommended this Facebook AC company, the trick in Facebook page is different from reality.<br>The Gentleman who attended first time at my house he is very professional that's why I decided to sign in the contract for replace the AC unit, also Sr thank you for your Military service, honestly the only person in the company with professional knowledge from maybe 7 people I dealing with.<br>I just hope my new AC continue working fine same with my other property AC .<br><br>You guys asked me for honestly review.

Was quoted 19k for a new unit. 1st call I made to a competitor for a second opinion was $7800. 1st choice called me the next day to follow up. I told them their price was too high. They then offered to drop the price to $10500. I declined. If they would have quoted $10500 to begin with and not tried to gouge me I would have hired them. Because of their attempted price gouging I went with king mechanical and got my unit replaced for $7800.

Let me first start off by saying I appreciate everyone at first choice for taking care of my father and installing two new AC units. Special thanks to Tori for handling all the finance questions for myself on behalf of my father. Big shout out to Dustin and James who worked all day to handle the installation of a huge job. (Sorry if i got the names wrong). It's not easy to please my father, but he was very pleased with the great customer service and installation he received. I have been using first choice for my personal home for two years and referred 1st choice to my father because I knew that the service would be great. My name is Kim and Over the years I have had several AC companies look at my air conditioning unit and fill it with Freon or tell me that the Freon SR22 would no longer be available and the ONLY option was to replace the unit. I had someone refill the Freon in 2020 and they said that I had a small leak and the coil pans were rusted. I had two separate technicians, this month that added more Freon and told me that the pans were rusty and that I apparently had a big leak in the coil’s… when 1st Choice Mechanical was recommended to me by my son-in-law, Tim came out and did a full assessment and provided a video and pictures of what it looked like in my attic. He explained every option possible for me to repair or replace my air conditioning unit and at the time my home was 88° and had been that way for about a week. Tim suggested replacing the unit, repairing the unit, financing the cost, and several other options. I chose to finance the replacement of the coils where the leak was. The pricing was extremely reasonable. I had no idea that the pans were rusted to this extent. It looked absolutely disgusting and I am so disappointed that no one ever explained the extent of the damage that had taken place in my attic. Tim and Brandon arrived early in the morning and went to work. They checked in with me throughout the entire process. They shop vac’d my carpet and stairs, they wore foot coverings, they were so kind and professional. OMG! This company is amazing and should be on CNN HEROES… I felt so blessed to have them do the repair and I am so thankful to my son in law for the referral. Do not waste your time calling any other company because I can guarantee you that no one is as good or professional, friendly, expedient or experienced as 1st Choice Mechanical
