Our heat somehow ended up pretty much dying on us due to transformer problem we called them out and they came within a few hours after we called. Mr. Jack came to our rescue and figured out what was wrong and got our heat back on. Our house got down to 57 degrees it was terrible, Thank yall so much for being there for me and my family when we needed you the most!

I had a technician and a sales rep come out to see why my heat wasn’t kicking on. The only fancy word the sales rep knew was “capacitor” which he repeated 30 times as he told me I needed to spend $15,000 new unit. He also tried to scam me on a $250/month “maintenance” program the offer. Thankfully my grandad taught me to always get a second opinion and it saved me $14,700. That’s right, $300 later my heat was fixed and has been running great for the last two months. I’ve waited to write this incase they were in fact telling the truth. But nope. Not to mention the trusted technician I used said IF I needed to get a new unit he would install one for around $8k. Way better. Don’t fall into the traps people, get a second opinion. These people are rolling in your dough

HVAC stopped working and they came out the same day. The old unit needed to be replaced and the sales guy was very thorough with options for costs. I chose to do the “leasing” option which works for me as it’s worry free and I got the best equipment. They came the next day to install it. It took about 4 hours and I’m up and running. They left no mess and explained everything they did. I’m glad I chose Donelson Air for this service and I highly recommend them! Updated 1/23 - high grades for Chris and Nick who took care of an issue with the unit and helped me solve a split unit problem. Very responsive and helpful! A+ service.

They were able to quickly diagnose the root cause of our HVAC issues and provide a solution to fix it. Other HVAC companies we used did not provide the correct root cause. We did not have enough airflow through our exchange for the size of unit we had. They did a great job adding the addition exchange. Unfortunately, after relying on other HVAC companies, our older unit had issues the following year [not related to work they performed]. We opted to let them replace the unit and they used a Lennox HVAC. Since we decided to use their lease program, we are not responsible for issues or repairs that come up. We also do not have to change the filter anymore because they do that outside. It came with UV lights to help kill any mold. The new unit was installed back in 2022. The exchange work was done in 2021. I think this company provides a great service with knowledgeable technicians who competently perform their work. I think they are on the higher end of pricing but it is worth the extra for technicians that understand these systems and how to diagnose and provide relevant solutions to problems. The only reason I put 4 stars is because their communication regarding annual maintenence has been lacking since the new unit was installed. However, I think they are working on improving that. Aside from the communication disconnect, they are a great company.

We have used Donelson for years and it has changed significantly. We have had several issues and thousands of dollars worth of work done on a new unit (we bought from them) that was less than 6 years old. We just had a routine maintenance call and were told our compressor was going out (on a different unit) and we needed to replace that one as well (to the tune of $14k). I called a different company for a second opinion today who came out and said there was too much Freon in the unit (by a lot - despite being marked as "normal" on their visit yesterday), and after removing Freon back into normal range, the unit was charging and working correctly, with no signs of the compressor "going out." Originally, we felt that we were receiving honest and reliable service; however, it hasn't felt that way in several years. Will never use this company again.

Had service with Mid-State Heating/Air for years. When owner retired and Donelson Air bought the business, we were slightly concerned that service would decline. Happy to say, that has not been the case. We have been very pleased with every technician who has completed the regular maintenance service, Edward Walker recently visited and did a thorough check and was very polite. This is the first time in my life that I have gone”Karen mode” but I feel this company had pushed me to my boundaries and I hope my testament hopefully makes sure others don’t experience what my family did. Donelson Air is an incredibly unprofessional company in my opinion. In their quality of work and in the way they handle the consequences of that work. in 2022 they installed an HVAC unit in my townhouse which we purchased in 2023. Unbeknownst to me, this was installed in the most cheap fashion possible. Sadly, this was never caught in an inspection. This caused a mold problem in my home which damaged our place and caused $10k plus in damage. When I had two separate contractor/hvac pros come through, they both looked at the work that was done and verified it was done cheaply and very poorly. It was estimated that we were losing 25% of our air as the duct work wasn’t even connected. I have a wife who is newly pregnant so this obviously concerned us majorly. When I attempted to get some accountability from the company was when this company went into a 0/10 company In my eyes. I tried I believe 12 times to speak to a manager or someone who could help us fix these issues. Crickets. Not only crickets and no phone calls from anyone who could help solve our problem, but every customer service person tried to argue with me and blame us. It has been a few months since this incident and I have clarity to know that this is a very poor company that does not stand on the quality of their work. Their work was shotty at best and even if it had been a mistake, I would expect a company that stands on high quality principles would help to make it right. There was literally no response from them and we basically got ghosted all while dealing with an insane mold problem with a pregnant spouse (all which was explained to them). Every time I drive by their office I think of how poor a company this place is. I hope people see this and that in some small way, they will make strides to be better or lose business. Probably nothing will happen, but I would expect nothing less from a company of such low caliber in my eyes

“You need a new HVAC unit” is not a fun thing to hear as a homeowner but let me tell you: if it means you get to hang out with Quentin from Donelson Air, it is actually great news!! In fact, it might be worth breaking or dismantling your HVAC unit just to have this experience. Q was personable, honest, and knowledgeable. He walked me through my options, listened to my needs and concerns, and troubleshot issues in real time. He also let my dog Ernie turn his coat into a bed (pictured). I thought about taking one star away because Ernie was absolutely devastated to have to give up the coat, but it was probably a good lesson in resilience for him.

I recently bought a home where the HVAC system was replaced in 2022, so it’s only about three years old. I always purchase a home warranty just in case. When temperatures dropped to 25–35°, my heat pump couldn’t get the house above 62°. The home warranty company sent Air Now Heat and Air, who diagnosed the problem as a faulty TXV valve and claimed it wasn’t installed properly. They submitted a $1,950 invoice to the warranty company for refrigerant and labor. The warranty denied the claim, saying it wasn’t normal wear and tear due to the supposed improper installation. So I found out who the original installer was and called them Joe from Donelson came out. He spent over an hour inspecting everything, found a stuck damper, manually adjusted it, fine-tuned the system, and only charged me the $100 service fee. He easily could have charged $600–$800 for the work he did, but he didn’t. Moral of the story: be careful, and ALWAYS get a second opinion especially on high-priced HVAC repairs. It can save you a lot of money and stress.

The tech that came out was courteous and friendly. He told me everything he was doing, showed me the problem, and is intending to fix it. He had to order the part and it would be fixed expeditiously. He was very intentional and professional with his work. My technician’s name was Efrain Mendez he was absolutely awesome. He came today with the part and fixed the problem. Not worth time and effort , will go back and fwd with time and appointment. Had scheduled appointment with them then next day it was canceled threw a text. I used otjer company that they bought out and honestly they were top notch since Donelson air took over it went down the drain . Customer service awful even after 2 members explain there is no chsrge since am a member supervisor said there is an 84$ fee then they will come and do a tune up. And their tune up is 20- 30 min and they are out they have never clean my outside coil or pipe drainage inside a garage and thats why my AC has failed and their tech gave me discount becuse he said honestly I can see it has not been done in year but our tech are supposed to flush it out each time. If you are looking for a reliable and honest company take your $ and yoir time somewhere else they are a joke . I canceled my service with them and got my $ refund for membership. Will never use them again.

Brandon stood tall in the crisp Tennessee morning, his mullet catching the breeze like a flag of pure freedom as he rolled his HVAC service van into the customer’s driveway. Perched proudly on the roof rack was his trusted partner—a bald eagle named Merica, sporting a feathery mullet that matched Brandon’s own perfectly. The customer peeked through the blinds, whispering, “Honey… the HVAC guy brought an eagle with a mullet,” as Brandon stepped out, ready for a heating repair. Inside the cold attic, Brandon got straight to work. Merica strutted along the rafters like a patriotic supervisor, mullet feathers fluttering behind him. Brandon inspected the furnace and quickly spotted the problem—a bad flame sensor, just dead as a doornail. While Brandon removed the faulty part and installed a new one, Merica stood watch by the heat, screeching triumphantly every time Brandon tightened a screw like he was cheering him on. When Brandon hit the power switch, both man and eagle waited in silence as the burners ignited in a perfect blue flame. The furnace roared back to life, heat rushing through the home like a warm hug from Dolly Parton herself. The customer thanked Brandon, still staring at Merica like they’d just witnessed a legend. Merica swooped down and landed proudly on Brandon’s shoulder, their mullets dancing together in the warm airflow from the vent. “Another one done, partner,” Brandon said with a satisfied grin. And together, they walked back to the van—man and eagle, mullet and mullet—the most unstoppable, star-spangled heating repair team the South had ever known.

My HVAC unit that Donelson Air installed in 2018 went out when we woke up a week ago last Thursday morning. They responded by getting someone here the next afternoon before we were leaving town. I scheduled an appointment online at 9 in the morning and got a same day appointment for between 4-8pm. Technician Chris Larson was here a little after 5. He was great. Totally professional yet also very friendly and personable. The perfect combination. He diagnosed and fixed the issue quickly. He double checked everything. And once finished, he took the time to discuss everything with me and also make me aware of potential future issues-without trying to sell me any unnecessary services or equipment. Chris is awesome, 10 out of 10. If I ever need any future service, I’ll be requesting him. Thanks again.

I can’t say enough good things about my recent experience with Donelson Air Service Experts. When I first called to schedule a repair, I was just hoping to get my old HVAC unit running again. Matt and Jeremey came out promptly, was very professional, and took the time to explain exactly what was going on with my system. Unfortunately, it turned out that a replacement was the best long-term solution—but Matt and Jeremey made sure I understood all of my options before making any decisions. Our kitchen sink was draining slowly, would fill up with water when the washing machine was running, and would overflow if the dishwasher was on. We’d also randomly have overflow from the laundry room drain as well. (Pic with towel) Steven came earlier than anticipated and knocked it out of the park. We had multiple clogs in the pipes and he had to go back in a second time after testing if the first snake worked. Now our drain is working perfectly! Coming from a DIY Jill of all trades, I’m very happy with the service provided and will definitely have them back if any other plumbing needs arise. Specifically Steven!! ☺️

Nice people and they generally do a good job but their rates are crazy expensive. Just had a warranty replacement done on my water heater and was just thinking it would be a few hundred dollars to swap out (the warranty didn’t cover labor) but I was very wrong. Over $1,000 to have them swap out the unit! I paid a little over $1500 for the whole unit and installation total just 5 years ago! Of course, the unit was broken so I didn’t have much of a choice to shop around. Ever since Mid State got absorbed by Donelson their prices have skyrocketed!

My experience was great! I scheduled a visit first thing Monday morning and they were promptly here by 8am. Chris Wright repaired my air unit and was very thorough in his explanation giving me the best options for the issue. He was very professional and we have had the best experience with Donelson Air on several occasions now. I am giving this review 5 stars SOLELY based on the knowledge, performance, attention to detail, and professionalism of my service technician, Efrain. Efrain notified me when he was on the way to my home, provided an approximate arrival time and was there ahead of schedule. Efrain told me how long the appointment would take and was very thorough in the inspection of my attic unit, thermostat, and outdoor unit. He went over everything he did in detail afterwards to make sure I completely understood what took place and had no lingering questions. He even found an issue that was supposed to be repaired last year by a different technician (I will address that with management separately) and provided same day resolve for the issue. I would recommend anyone using this location of Donelson Air to request Efrain as your technician because you can tell that he is passionate about his work and prides himself on doing a great job while also making sure his customers are satisfied. .

We have been paying for a maintenance subscription from Donelson Air for a couple of years now. They've come out and done it a few times, everything has been fine. Yesterday they advised that we might want to replace a part that was out of spec, and since we've been having higher energy bills, we agreed. They left and we realized at 5:20 that our AC had not kicked on again since they left around midday. I called and was informed that they couldn't get anyone out that night, and couldn't get anyone out all day Thursday, or Friday morning. The next available appointment was Friday from 4-8, when we were supposed to be out of town to visit family. I went out and found they had left the fuse disconnected on top of the box. I googled and put it back in, but AC still wasn't kicking on, and I wasn't sure what was wrong and was afraid of killing our unit. I ended up calling Hiller, who came and got things turned back on at 8 AM on Thursday. I happily paid $90 for them to correct Donelson Air's mistake. I understand these things happen and sometimes steps are forgotten, but the lack of any kind of urgency to come out and fix their mistake really upset us. We sweated all night over something that was a 2 minute fix from someone who knew what they were doing. I have cancelled my maintenance contract and will not be using them again.

From the initial phone call requesting a technician, to completion, I was very impressed. Donelson Air sent Matt Clark and Drew Hall to look at my problem. They were both very professional, knowledgeable, and considerate of the situation. I had used Donelson Air many years ago when managing a small apartment complex and thought highly of their professionalism then. In my estimation, they are still a very professional and a well qualified company. I had a follow up to check everything over by Jason Markwell and Terry Stewart, his manager. Both were very pleasant, great sense of humor and again extremely knowledgeable. They left after a little critiquing and I am a very happy customer.
