Lamar is our main service rep and he has been stellar for years. Recently we had a critter situation that dumbfounded us on how it was getting under the house. It was destroying newly installed duct work and insulation was blowing out our vents. Lamar tried a few things to help figure out where they were getting in, he set some traps but this critter was avoiding it all. We had to escalate to Peter who handles the more involved situations and he and Sean covered every inch of our raised foundation etc. re fitting panels, sealing up any tiny openings and cutting better mesh barricades to replace what we had. Our crawl space is not pleasant and it’s soooo tight. Sean was under there for a long time checking everything out.<br><br>We caught what feel is the culprit and now with everything sealed up we haven’t heard or caught anything else. No more insulation blowing out and now we can bring in the AC and heat folks to fix the damage caused by the critter.<br><br>Not a fun thing to deal with and I am very thankful that they were able to get it under control.<br><br>I know it was a more expensive route to have to escalate to the next level but honestly it had to be done to stop the destruction of all the new duct work that was just done. The team has really been on it.<br><br>The call center is a whole different beast. It’s always a bit frustrating but the techs assigned to our home have always given their numbers to contact them directly with any issues and that is great service.<br>They are on top of their customers.

Bad experience with Western Exterminator.<br>I wanted to fumigate my whole property, unfortunately due to neighbors not signing waiver, one section was not fumigated. However I was told that they had a different method to fumigate which gave me peace of mind. Now I have been invoiced for the whole property and my back house still needs to be fumigated. No one has contacted me or updated me on when they would fumigate. And now that I called to follow up, they’re asking for more money because it’s now considered a new job. Which is complete bullshit for this company works very shady to do an unfinished job, invoice you for it, and then try to bill you for a job that should that WESTERN EXTERMINATOR should have done in the first place.<br><br>I STRONGLY suggest you shop around for exterminator, because now I regret ever working with these people

western was very efficient and effective, coming out on time and working quickly, the treatment worked very well, and we have had no issues with the services. they’re customer service is very friendly and easy to work with as well! will definitely use them again if needed.

I'm gonna keep posting until these people give us are refund for a service that they never came out and did because they said we canceled to late which is total bullshit. I have about 10 others that are gonna do the same thing In coming until they get nothing but 1 stars across the board. It's to bad because the guy that came out was great and no problem just the people that lie and can't issue are refund can't wait for the BBB contact them because they can't ignore them. Just a heads up people when they tell you to go with the ongoing plan which they come out and do the outside and spray but because it's cheaper and you can cancel after the first visit it's a lie. And then they will give you the run around on the phone and not call you back. Save your self some time and go with someone else

Broke my freezer handle while trying to move my fridge. Did not inform me or anyone else. Grabbed my duct tape from my desk to stick the handle back on. Had to find this out out while trying to get something from the freezer.

Hired them for ant extermination and they came out twice but the problem is still there. I called back because their work is “guaranteed” yet they want to charge me again for the service they failed to do right the first time. Can’t recommend them unfortunately since they don’t stand behind their work and I’m left with ants and $300+ less in my bank account. Don’t hire.

Was with them for 15 years. Starting in 2022 my bill was $70/mo but has gone up each year by over 10%. It's now $110. I have been trying to login to their new website portal to either reduce my service interval or cancel but am unable to. I called and waited for 20 minutes to talk to a represtentative. He was unable to do anything. I am now supposedly waiting for a call back in 72 hours from the billing dept. I will be canceling. They just lost a 15 year customer.

We had a technician named Daniel and he did no call and no show twice. I have called and requested a new technician. I have called the last two days complaining about how this is unprofessional, they took it like a grain of salt and kept saying well we will send Simeon out at night. False promises and WORST PART they said they called Daniel and another representative said “Daniel has no number to call on his file” then how are they calling him!?!. they kept giving me Daniel. They also kept giving me false promises. Now I have to wait for Tuesday for the new technician they gave me.

This company is the definition of unprofessional and ineffective. We hired them to help with pest control in our yard, specifically to deal with a spider problem. Weeks later—still covered in spiders. So whatever they sprayed or claimed to do, it clearly didn’t work.<br><br>But it gets worse. We also hired them for animal removal—specifically skunks. The cost? $900 for two weeks of trapping. Sounds fine, right? Except they pulled the traps after ONE week. When we asked why, they claimed we “must’ve misunderstood,” and that it was only ever for one week. Funny, because the paperwork says absolutely nothing about one week or two. And when we pressed them, Earnest (their rep) actually had the nerve to say the contract just says “one time,” and that could be interpreted as one skunk. Are you kidding?<br><br>Earnest offered us a 10% discount “for the confusion.” But the moment I said fine—I’ll pay the bill with the discount and then I want to cancel my service—he changed his tune and said we wouldn’t get the discount if we canceled. So basically, they’re holding the discount hostage unless we keep giving them money. Insane.<br><br>The whole interaction was condescending, rude, and just gross. We were treated like we were stupid or trying to scam them—when they’re the ones misrepresenting their own service terms. They’re willing to lose a customer over a third-party contractor they hired, rather than take any responsibility.<br><br>Do yourself a favor: avoid Western Exterminator at all costs. Terrible service, worse customer care, and zero accountability.

Edit: bummed to be changing my review. I’ve always had five star service (s/o Oscar for roaches, Matt for mice), but I spent all day today waiting for a technician who never showed, never contacted, despite a confirmed appointment. Person on the phone offered no explanation. Hoping the technician shows for my rescheduled appt.<br>——<br>Always friendly and effective service by Oscar! The people on the phone are great too. Got rid of my kitchen roaches :)

NIGHTMARE. My issue needed termite spot treatment. I was told that my work would be expedited. First treated and then repaired. That was 3 months ago and the work is still not finished. They charged random exorbitant prices for spraying. They say they went out to spray 6 times for 1 corner. I have spoken to at least 15 different people. Still waiting for repair. This multinational company makes follow up impossible. Rip off of time and money.

The workers are almost always really good. Recently, for instance, Walter did a great job. I even passed him at a neighbor's house and asked if he could check the rat bait traps as he was nearby, which he did. The issue is with the parent company RENTOKIL which bought out WESTERN. The communication on their end is STILL being worked on and there's a disconnect which is very frustrating. A worker can just show up for a semi monthly treatment but there's been no communication it's happening that day and, assuming someone is home, it's not always possible to leave the house with my dog for them to spray, and then not be in the house for a couple hours while the chemicals settle.

Originally we had Tony for a long time from Western, he moved to a new area and our new service tech Daniel has been great. We tried another place in the past and they didn’t compare to the level of effectiveness and the customer service that Western gives us when they come out to us. Do not be fooled by the years this company has been in business. They have been serving my five buildings in Los Angeles, CA. The technicians are good. Their accounting method will drive you to bankruptcy. All these years, I have been paying them through bill pay. For the past two years, they insisted that I produce my cancelled checks to verify the payments after the bank had paid them. Please think twice before you sign a contract with them. Like what President Reagan told the former Russian President, "trust but verify".

My experience with the Western service could not have been better. My technician, Andres, called me ahead of time to make sure the date and time of service were correct and walked me through on how tenants were to be prepared for service. As a building manager, this is very helpful. On the day of service, Andres was on time, communicated everything that was done thoroughly, and he was very courteous. It’s not just because when I asked around who’s the best pest control company in my area the answer was Western Exterminator, and it’s not only because they are very reliable and safety conscious. He goes above and beyond the call of duty for me and is meticulous and very considerately alerts me when to expect him. My 91 year old father was looking for someone to help deal with a moth infestation in my parents' home. While we had some difficulty initially getting answers to questions that he had about the process, he eventually connected with Peter Yun who came to their house to do an inspection and recommend treatment options. Since that initial inspection, Peter has gone truly above and beyond to answer my father's (MANY!) questions and to patiently walk my father through the options, including what my parents would need to do to prepare the house for treatment, etc... When the technician arrived to do the work, Peter changed his entire schedule for the day to be able to go to my parents' house at the time the technician would be there so that he could make sure my father was comfortable with the process. Peter and I spoke quite often during all of this, and he explained to me that he was treating my parents as he would treat his own -- and, honestly, he was so honest and attentive and patient with them that I 100% believe him. I live across the country from my parents so have not been able to be there to help with the process, but I have felt completely reassured dealing with Peter. The moth problem appears to have been solved and we will continue to engage Western Exterminator for any other pest control issues that might crop up.

Had an appointment scheduled for today with a window from 8:00-9:30. I was told the technician would call me 15 mins before arriving I waited until 9:30 and heard nothing. Decided to call and ask if someone was coming out, customer service went ahead and tried to call my technician (terry) and received no answer. They said sorry that’s all we can do, then asked if I wanted to reschedule. They also said give them another 30 minutes outside the window frame. Not very professional, I let the person know I would not be rescheduling as it didn’t give a good first impression.

Really dissatisfied of my experience with Western. We had an inspector look at the property and recommend a local treatment for termites, so we did it. Not cheap. Several months later, the termites were back! So now they are recommending tenting the full house. And it’s not included in their “warranty” because it’s next to the area they treated. So we’d have to pay in full for the tenting. We had other companies come look at the place and they found termites where Western didn’t. They totally missed a bunch of areas. Their inspection wasn’t thorough at all. Now we have to re-do the treatment because Western did not properly inspect and treat the area.

I would like to start saying that I am absolutely disappointed in the accounts and receiving Department out of the Los Angeles Temple street location starting with Cheyanne, I have never experienced such disgusting and disrespectful "customer service" 11/21/24 I received a call from Cheyanne about my account first thing in the morning. She pronounced the name on the account wrong and I politely corrected her, after that her nasty disrespectful deminer arised I informed Cheyanne that I was in traffic and would provide the necessary documents once I stopped, being that payment was rendered, Cheyanne went in to disrespectfully let me know she had been trying to reach me and I needed to provide the proof NOW. I immediately requested to speak with her supervisor I was blatantly told "you don't need to speak with my supervisor, you can talk to me" I was absolutely shock at this comment. I advised Cheyanne that I was done speaking to her and provide me with a sup. at this very moment after several attempts she finally connected me to Danielle the Accounts dept. supervisor who immediately answered the phone with the same energy as Cheyanne. I advised me that I was not going to over talk her and that she was in charge of the conversation at this point. I was now at the top of the frustrated meter, at how these two young girls where handling this situation. I told Danielle that would like to know who to contact in corporate at which time she told me she would not provide we with any of the information and the someone from the branch would reach out to me and hung up in my face. I called back and another representative stated that my account was noted for none of them to speak with me or give me any information, and she hung up in my face as well. I finally reached a representative that provided me with all the information that I had been requesting from the other 3 representatives that disrespectfully hung up in my face. Thanking her for that. I have canceled my services with Western Exterminator Company. If they support the nasty attitudes that they think there reps can talk to customers in that manner I will NEVER solicit their business and will ensure that this is noted every where possible. WEC you need to review this expeditiously as this was absolutely unacceptable.

I’ve had multiple incidents in my unit lately with various pests and everyone at Western Exterminators has been so great. Oscar went above and beyond, was so kind and efficient. Matt and Rob responded super quickly to my second request for a specialist, knowing I was traveling soon they made sure to squeeze me in. They were able to identify the problem immediately and come up with a plan by end of day. Everyone there is super respectful of your space, always wearing booties etc. which is always appreciated.<br><br>Having to call an exterminator is never a fun problem to have but they all helped quell the stress of it. I would definitely use Western Exterminator again!

First, this company is Western, teminix, Isotech all merged after were bought by RENTOKILL company based on the UK, i believed since the fall of 2016. Ever since then so many changes had happened, maybe the way they are used to do business in the UK does not take into account the employees nor clients, it’s a corporate, so their sole purpose is to make money, but if the companies they bought have a lot of clients that depend on their prompt and timely service for many years they’ll loose them because of their burocrátic way of conduct business. But if the client can’t communicate with costumer service that is their only way to coordinate the service, the whole system that used to work efficiently for so many years and that is still work perfectly for so many others is going to provoke disruption and losses of our business and restaurants. Because if we have to close after failing to control a pest problem for the inconsistency of their services sooner or later they will have to face the lawsuits for losses and lost of business. This is serious, how can a corporation justify that caos they provoked to clients ? just because there’s cero comunication, cero costumer service, cero coordination with techs, cero accountability? No matter how excellent the techs have been over the years, so many of us clients won’t be able to overlook this caos at this day and age: Age of the communication is noon existent here 🤦🏻‍♀️

As the president of my HOA Board nothing about having being the one responsible for initiating the fumigation of our building or of having the treatment done in the first place would be considered enjoyable or easy - in fact the process itself is time-consuming, overwhelming and difficult - and thats just dealing with the other residents! But through all of it, and in spite of the negativity and push back received from my neighbors, Peter at Western Exterminator, our sales representative and liaison throughout the process for months before during and after has remained a rock of support and a calm helmsman who adeptly pressed on and drove us through the process with ease and confidence. He even attended and spoke to our homeowners regarding the need for the planned termite fumigation during an open HOA board meeting (I firmly believe that HOA board meetings will eventually be identified as one of the final stages of purgatory one passes through before entering the gates of Hell). But I digress… The level of professionalism and attention to every detail along the way through this process has been phenomenal. And the guarantee one gets with the knowledge that this is a multinational corporation which isn’t going anywhere and will be around and able to make sure that the investment while sizable, is not overly inflated or extremely expensive— as a matter of fact they were the cheapest of the four estimates we received to do the work. And they came with the longest post fumigation guarantee of their work. Hands down, best option for a inconvenient situation and one that it felt like it took forever while preparing for, took little time to actually get through, and now that it’s over, feels like it was forever ago it’s having already come and gone. (Not even when we had to call the LA County Sheriff Dept to persuade the neighbor it was in all of our best interest for them to leave the building quickly and quietly, and thus a standoff was eventually avoided — amicably). Mr. Peter Yun was the inspector that Western Exterminator sent to my home to evaluate for termites after I had found a suspicious looking insect that I captured in a plastic container. Mr. Yun was thorough in his inspection and extremely knowledgeable. He patiently explained his findings and offered his expert opinion on how treatment should be rendered. Mr. Yun is engaging, amiable and outgoing. You feel as though you are talking with an old friend who has your best interests at heart. He gladly took the insects I had captured and had further confirmation done at the home office. You and your home are in good hands.

We have been customers for years but are leaving due to a number of issues.<br><br>The company: It is impossible to communicate with this company. Every issue requires multiple phone calls, transfers to different departments, different agents. We called trying to make changes to our services and after 2 hours of being on the phone decided to cancel out of frustration. Example: No one could find our account and we were told multiple times that the account had been cancelled 4 years ago when we have invoices and monthly payments to confirm it was not the case.<br><br>The technicians: They are slotted to come to our property between 8am-12pm. We have a gate so someone has to be present to let them in. There have been days where no one has shown up, with no phone call or text. When calling customer service, we are told the best they can do is email the technician and reschedule for another day. How does no one have a phone number to their own technicians to see what’s going on? That is an entire morning spent, waiting for someone to arrive to their job.<br><br>Overall: the people who work at the company are all very nice + professional but there is a serious internal issue of poor communication.

Terrible company! The driver Carlos Manual Caldera was in a hurry! His truck hit my car<br>trying to pass my car on the shoulder and<br>in a hurry to get to his next job. He apologized<br>but the company and their insurance Bassett/Gallagher part of Arch hasn’t covered the<br>damages! He was driving with an expired<br>registration!<br>If their exterminators can hit and run I wouldn’t<br>trust this company!

We were having signs of rodents in our crawlspace that goes up into our furnace closet. We realized we need to seal any entry ways for the rodents. Luckily we have not seen any rodents inside our house. I went on Nextdoor to look for different businesses to contact. I'm not going to name any of them during this review. I always try to get 3 quotes at least before choosing a business. One business I only spoke to on the phone. They said they only lay traps and suggested I hire a handyman to seal any openings. He didn't think there were businesses that did both. I scheduled two inspections from two companies that I saw mentioned frequently on Nextdoor. They both were an all in one solution. Their services included trapping, exclusion, sanitizing and cleaning. The first business gave me a quote of $4500. I was a bit taken aback by the price. I asked how much for just the rodent exclusion and trapping. He said $3000 and he'll include the sanitizing. The 2nd business that came out has great reviews and the consensus was they do a thorough job but were expensive. I did have one person in NextDoor PM me and said they planted a rat in her roof. I'm not sure if that's true or not. The inspector was more thorough than the first company and found more possible entrances for the rodents. She also said when she saw the rat droppings that it was a female and we want to take care of the problem before she has babies (back to this later). Their quote was around $5500. I was a bit perturbed at this point because I didn't feel like we had such a bad rodent problem that warranted paying that much money. I did some more digging on NextDoor and Google and scheduled two more inspections on the same day. The day before, the first company earlier in the week called me and said they happen to have an opening the next day that they wanted to fill and was willing to go down to $2000. I decided to decline and wait since I scheduled the other two inspections. The 3rd company was terrible. The young inspector didn't even seem interested in getting the job and it didn't seem like they really did rodent exclusions. The last inspector was Peter from Western Exterminator that someone on NextDoor had recommended for getting their job done without paying an exorbitant price. Peter was personable and thorough. He found other entry points that weren't previously pointed out by the other inspectors. He felt like the previous inspector that said one of the rats was female based on the droppings was just fear mongering. Their quote for rodent exclusion, trapping and cleanup of the droppings was $1500. Much more reasonable and we obviously went with them. A couple of days later, the tech Sal came out and sealed all the entry points and laid traps down. We have 3 follow ups scheduled. Overall we have been very happy with their services and they appear to be an honest company providing services at reasonable prices. If I were to have any complaint, it would be their exclusions aren't the most aesthetically pleasing but as long as they keep the rodents out, I'm good with it. I would not hesitate to recommend them. The photos are just a few examples. We had many more openings that they spent about 5 hours working on.

What a relief!!I had an apparently long standing bird infestation in an attic which was only discovered because I had to remove and replace a ceiling. Next day almost entire floor was covered with bird poop.I called around for help. Western Exterminators responded right away and the representative/inspector, William, was amazing. He went up into the attic (ugh!) , came down and gave me an assessment, explained all that needed to be done, worked me into the schedule and within just a few days the job was done. Birds gone everything cleaned up! Very professional!! What a relief!! Thank you Western Exterminators!!

Matt was great! Very patient and kind given the distress of having to deal with moths in my house. He explained what it was we needed to look for and then did his best to find the source of the problem so we wouldn’t have to spend a ton of money doing a full treatment. I used them for years, something has changed in the company and they no longer care. Peter our inspector did an amazing job for us. They covered every hole, opening around windows and under doorways. His team spent the entire day at our house and they came back two or three times for follow up. Every time we called he answered questions and showed up at our house to solve the problems. Over all I give them A+!!!!

Sucks because I liked them in the beginning but they are not serious about customer service and was a total waste of time and money.<br>They never showed up ( for months ) to to do the work spraying etc I paid monthly. When I asked for my refund they said yes sure and never refunded me anything.

If I could give this company 0 stars, I would. Our landlord scheduled them to come work on our house. The asked us to take everything out of ever shelf/ cabinets closet in the house. We live in a 4 bed room 2 story house. It was hours of work. The guy never showed up and when we called, not only did they not know the guy hadn't done his job, they didn't know why he didn't show up. They told me they would look into it and give us a call within 2 hours, and not surprisingly havnt heard from them again.

Western Exterminators has recently been awarded the contract for our large vintage LA area housing complex. Their quality of service as well as their reliability in showing up when they say they will, is much appreciated. They are knowledgeable, competent and professional. No matter how diligent a resident may be, intermittent pest control issues within older, historic shared community dwellings are just a stressful given. A shout-out, therefore, in particular to my great reps, Cesar E and Carlos, for jobs well-done (and a thanks also to those in Management here for reliably dispatching them as needed!).

Scheduled an appointment for service and a technician never arrived. I called and was told that someone would be giving me a call to schedule a new appointment as I needed urgent assistance. Never received that call. Called in again and I was informed that I wasn’t on any list to receive a call and that it showed my appointment as being canceled when it was them that didn’t show up. Ended up going with another company and they showed up as expected.<br>Update: someone did end up calling me saying that they would be at my home in 25-35 minutes. If I didn’t have anything scheduled, how did this happen? And why did they expect me to be home? 🤦🏻‍♀️

This company used to be really good, but I think they got acquired by a bigger company. Now when you call them even at the local number, you get some call center who knows where, and the call center people have no idea what is going on. We've had our home inspected multiple times for termites, with recommendations for treatment, but then we can never get them to follow up. The call center has no record of the inspection or its recommendations, and they are unable to schedule any follow-up. They say that somebody will contact us, but nobody ever does. We signed up with Western in 1972 and have had them here all these years. Everyone of the techs we have had over the years has been outstanding, especially Ben who is our tech now. He goes above and beyond every time he is here. We have monthly service and never have issues.We keep the service because we don't want issues! Lately we haven't been happy. They have been reliable in showing up this year but not in past years. During the peak of CoVid, they stopped coming altogether and then claimed I stopped service and charged me a fee for starting service again AND a higher service visit rate. Scam? I think so.<br>I had been using them for 8 years.<br>Although I will say the service now is much better and Lamar is the nicest of people who has been assigned to my quarterly service - but this stunt pulled by the company has left a bad taste in my mouth and I will keep my eyes open for a different, more honest company for the future.<br><br>P.S. got a comment from Western upon reading this review, saying they’d contact me, implying a remedy, and never heard from them.

I have been a customer for almost 15 years for two residential properties. I have a blanket contract for both properties where I pay for 6 months treatment in advance, which ends up being a little more economical. A service technician has not shown up since September 2022. I have called multiple times wanting to speak to someone locally here in Los Angeles; but I get customer service in another state. I explain the problem and get no where. Customer service basically is calling me a liar, saying they show a technician has come out every month. That's impossible as the technician needs a key to open the property gate. And I would have seen someone enter towards the front door via my Ring camera. Previous technicians during the past years were given a key from me. Then in September 2022, the most recent technician said he was transferred to a desk job and the company is having a difficult time getting a technician to take his place in my neighborhood. So he was considerate and professional to return my key until a replacement technician was established. Something has radically changed within this company. I am cancelling my contracts.

I canceled my service with a well known termite company due to poor customer service. It took hours to just connect to someone. I just happened to mention my frustration to a friend who suggested that I call Western Exterminator. She had just had them do some work around her home and was very pleased with their service. i finally got around to call to set up an appointment for a free inspection. I ended up choosing them for drywall termites service and added treatment for subterranean termites for preventative measure as there were old signs of their presence.<br><br>On the day of service Andy arrived and right away I noticed how, very thorough and efficient he worked. A big difference compared to the techs Ive had from the previous company. I must say, I’m so glad I switched over to Western Exterminator. I highly recommend this company.
