Our landlord hired American Rat Control to get rid of the rats in our attic. Miguel found holes in the exterior of the house that both a handyman and another exterminator had missed. Communication with Miguel and Louis was straightforward, and they resolved the issue quickly and professionally, sealing the exterior of the house and trapping rats in both the attic and the crawlspace beneath the building. I would highly recommend them.

Terrible service! The technician came in for inspection today and when he went to his car to get his equipment he never came back! Turns out he locked himself out. Was trying to reach him for more than an hour. He told me he texted, waited 3-4 minutes and then he left for his next appointment. And he can’t come back until 3 days later… just terrible!

Five star service but got three stars due to clerical error that has not been corrected. I was charged twice for a service, the amount was taken out of my checking account and has not been put back as of yet. They just keep putting me off. $300 is a lot of money to be missing from my account.<br><br>Update. They rectified the problem!

We had rats on our property for a while and got a few quotes from different companies, but the inspector, which i believe was the owner, was the only one who really seemed to know what he was talking about. He figured out it was actually a plumbing issue, not a major infestation, which was a huge relief. They only had to do some minor repairs, and ever since then, we haven’t heard any more noises. The whole team was super communicative and easy to work with. Really grateful, thanks so much, guys!

Miguel came out to give us an estimate. He was friendly, knowledgeable and professional. He made us feel comfortable with the whole process and answered all our questions. On the day of our appointment, he came over and took care of everything that he said he would. Five days later, he came by and checked the traps, removing the dead rat and resetting the trap.<br>I would definitely recommend American Rat Control and especially Miguel to eliminate any rodents from your home. And their estimate was reasonable. Call other companies and then call American Rat Control. You'll be glad you did.

After getting an inspection and another quote from a different company prior to American Rat Control, I’d come to discover that other company had not only padded their price, but were not honest with their findings. American Co. were so knowledgeable, honest and fair. I’d recommend them highly to anyone.

I spoke with several companies about a rodent problem I was having. American Rat Control was the most upfront, didn't try to upsell me and all in all came across as professional and trustworthy. Even more importantly, they showed up on time, did exactly what they said they would do, and left the place clean when they were done. Competitively priced, I recommend for anyone with a rodent problem.

This company was a complete fail. They charged a hefty fee to come out and set traps basically. They were lax about closing access and servicing the traps. The mouse problem got worse and worse, and when I finally stopped the service, I found a good company and they told me that none of the access points had been closed off. When I tried to talk to the company owner, Jim, he claimed that he just couldn't ever get in the house, when I know that wasn't the case. He also claimed that closing the entry way points was not part of the hefty sum he charged to set it up. Basically, he set some traps, and that was all. Meanwhile the mice destroyed a bed and some furniture because he did not deal with the access issue. He claimed we did not hire him to do the inside apt which we clearly did. He was rude and condescending on the phone and ended the call by insulting me personally to my husband and hanging up! The next company I found “Insight Pest Managenent” was awesome and solved the problem politely and swiftly! Stay away from these guys.

Everyone I dealt with was knowledgeable and courteous. The technician that came out to do the job was wonderful. I’ve only had one treatment out of 12 but the next day there was absolutely no evidence of rat activity the previous night. What a difference a day makes.

He is very knowledgeable and his employees are excellent, especially Edgar! In less than 2 weeks there has been a major improvement. I unfortunately discovered I had a big rat problem. My doors were being eaten!! I enlisted brooks & orkin pest control. However, they did the usual set traps etc. not one rat was caught. I then got American rat control. They identified the source. We caught one rat in the taps set. Follow up is very godd. We have not solved/irradiated the problem yet but am very optimistic.

Edgar and Louis are great guys. They were thorough with their service and came back to follow up with the results.

Very helpful and professional.

Had a major outdoor rodent problem and the rodents were messing up the car wiring as well costing me lot of money to repair. Based on reviews called American Rat Control and Louis came to do the initial inspection. He provided me with his finding, a treatment plan and estimate for continues management which was very reasonable to the damage it was causing. My car had to be cleaned out as well and Edgar came at the appointment time and setup the traps around the house and helped with cleaning the car as well. I am happy with the initial work done and will wait for the outcome which would take a couple of weeks as mentioned by them.

He and Edgar returned and did an amazing job at securing my house against these Norway Rats. I unreservedly recommend American Rat Control. The company has been stellar in every way, from keeping their appointments to the thoroughness of the house/garage inspection to the removal of the rat-soiled insulation in our crawl space to the deodorizing/sanitizing to the neat, beautifully constructed "Fort-Knox" exclusion measures they installed to discourage a re-infestation. We are so happy to have found American Rat Control! After contacting nine other rat-control and bio-remediation companies, I became discouraged because many of the companies came for an "inspection" but never even went under the house or into the attic, then quoted us a heart-stopping sum -- the price of a new economy car!!!! (It turns out that many companies give their estimators a cut of the job quote, so some estimators jack up the price accordingly. When I told one such company that I wasn't hiring them because their price was exorbitant, they immediately dropped the price $3K, no questions asked.) American Rat Control has been a real pleasure to deal with, and everyone on their staff has been very personable, polite and honest. The company owner inspected our house/garage thoroughly and was refreshingly candid about what needed to be done, and what didn't. Honesty, fine work, and good customer-service are beautiful things and can seem in short supply these days, but American Rat Control embodies them all. So very grateful to have found this company.

Dec 2024 edit: I have to leave another great review for these guys. 7 months ago (see below) they came and killed a rat and were amazing.<br><br>A month ago, we had the house looked at for mold. The mold guy said no mold but he thought he found rat excrement in the attic. So the landlords brought their own pest guy who confirmed it and was going to charge the landlord thousands of dollars to fix it.<br><br>I didn't feel confident about the other guy so I called American Rat Control and Louis came back out. He inspected the attic and told the owners there's NO rat excrement there, just construction debris that could be mistaken for it. He said some companies will lie to get the work, but he was 100% positive there was no evidence rats had ever been in the attic. So he saved the owners thousands of dollars even though it meant he didn't get any job out of it.<br><br>That kind of honesty and professionalism is amazing these days.<br><br>---<br><br>I made several calls to rat exterminator companies yesterday, after about a week of trying and failing to catch a rat ourselves. Louis, the owner of American Rat Control, was the fastest to respond and came out within a couple hours.<br><br>He was thorough, courteous, and effective. By the time he left, we knew where the rat had gotten in, we had proper traps laid down inside, a plan to clean up sources of food we had thought were secure but were not, as well as a plan for outdoor control. The traps worked within hours, catching and killing the rat. A huge relief.<br><br>Pricing was also very reasonable. I fully recommend this company.

Louis was extremely knowledgeable and helped us identify where the infestation was coming from as well as helping us to identify the best route to take when it came to prevention and extermination. He was very professional and respectful of our business and many questions. Will call them again if we ever need anything as they were much better than Orkin in many ways.

I called a week ago because rats are taking over my engine in my car. There add on Google says they do deal with rats in cars. I call, the girl who answered seemed lost. She asked if she could call me back. I said sure. About 2 hours later she text me and said sorry we have no available appointments this week. I asked, what about next week? She replied, maybe, let me get back to you. 3 hours went by and nothing. I text her saying well? She replied they can come the 4th (a week away) I said great and accepted the apt. I got a reminder text about the apt. I waited and waited. No one showed or called. Then later the same day I get a text there coming the next day. Again, I took time off work ans waited. No show. I got another text today saying they will be here next week!, do they really think I'm going to sit around and wait again? Nope! Horrible customer service and not reliable at all°

Kat's Pest Solutions came out to give a free evaluation of an opossum problem we had at our building. I spoke with Kat at length, and she gave us great advice on how to address the issue for the best of our building and for our tenant. Very reasonable and considerate, I'd definitely consider them again for other services in the future.

I could not be happier with this company. We bought a home with some unwanted residents in it. Louis has referred us to a great company to remove all the infested insulation. Once that was done Edgar came out and did a very thorough job of Rodent proofing our home. He also did a great job replacing the screens on our crawlspace, and are coming back checking on the traps regularly. I am very sad to see some of the negative reviews which truly do not represent the company I know and worked with. I made an emergency call to American Rat Control this morning to remove a rat from my tenant's outdoor home pre-school. Fortunately Louis, the American Rat Control company owner, called back quickly and happened to be in the area. Without an appointment he immediately came over and quickly removed the rat so it wouldn't affect the kids. I'm so thankful to him for being so gracious and altering his schedule for me. If you want to work with a professional who gives you good solid honest service, I highly recommend him. He's now my guy for any rodent removal I need.

Beware! Service and customer service sub-par.<br><br>I’ve dealt with this company for approximately 2 years, in hindsight shame on me for it. I’ve called them at least 3-4 times throughout the 2years asking why they didn’t show up, this is after 2-3 months minimum of no-show. The only indicator being my yard is a mess with mole or gopher pot holes and tracks.<br><br>The customer service is terrible, don’t ever call me back or return my calls. I have to usually call them 2-3 times to elicit a response. Then the promise of a next day service appointment with a no-show. No thanks!<br><br>There are plenty of exterminator services in the city, don’t burden yourself with this company. If I could rate with a zero, I would!

The prices are really expensive and their service is terrible. They say they will call you back, but they never do.

This used to be such a good company. We recently moved from West Hollywood, where we used ARC several times, to the hills between Glendale and Montrose, where we noticed a rat problem a couple of months after moving in. The owner came out and described our problem and we negotiated a solution for rat-proofing, before the critters got inside our house. He said they'd be in touch to seal the place off and set bait stations. I waited, and waited, and waited... I called, and called, and called. We were told there had been a death in the family and of course we understood, but we were promised that someone would be coming out soon. By now five weeks had passed... and then, I heard scratching inside our house, in the walls. And my wife noticed something had been eating from our dog bowl. Clear signs of a rat. I called for the fifth time, begging them to send someone out. The nice clerk, Brionna, apologized and promised someone would come out on Friday or Saturday, and she would call me to let me know. They would come for no additional charge beyond the original $425 for rat-proofing.<br><br>I waited some more. No call, no visit. And no answer Friday night and Saturday when I called. No one called on Monday either. Finally I called on Tuesday and asked for Brionna. "She's no longer working here," I was told. "Finally I lost it - what is wrong with you guys? This is the SIXTH time I called, and meantime, you've dragged your feet so long, we now have rats in the house!" Now came the response: "Hold, please." The receptionist (poor woman, having to deal with an angry client) calls the owner. After 10 minutes ("your call is important to us!") she comes back. The owner said "we can come out there tomorrow" - and charge me an extra $325 - for a problem they could have prevented if they had come four, three, two, even one week ago.<br><br>No thanks. I'm going elsewhere. And I suggest you do too.

If you want someone to take your money and no-show, call ARC.<br><br>Summary: ARC is slow, repeatedly failed to call to schedule or cancel visits (when they cancelled) and show up after they were paid for their proposal for rodent control. Also, they have poor communication within their office (they lost track of payment). Their inspection was poor and missed anything that the technician had to bend over to see (the technician had a big pot belly and did not bend over or get low to the ground).<br><br>Long Version: The night I moved into a house and I heard pitter patters in the attic at night and early morning and found droppings on the kitchen counter. ARC was near, so I called. First warning should have been that they never called back to schedule a visit.<br><br>Once I called ARC back to schedule the initial inspection, their technician came by to inspect. He said he thought there were two rats (based on two different sizes of droppings) and said he would draw up a proposal. The inspection was half-baked: he was too chubby to lean over, so he missed everything he could not see standing up, like large gaps under the doors. His proposal reflected that. When I pointed it out, he said he didn't see any problems from where he was standing. Duh.<br><br>ARC provided a proposal quickly, fee was paid, they said they would call back to schedule a time to set traps and do the work, and then... Nothing. 2 weeks went by, and all I got from them was silence. I called them (again) to schedule (again), set a time, and when the day and time for the visit rolled around, I waited. They no-showed.<br><br>When I called to find out why ARC no-showed, the receptionist said they did not have a record of payment, so they cancelled the appointment--without calling, of course. She apologized for the technician not calling. Then, she claimed someone called but could not reach me. Like most people, I have voicemail and my phone shows all incoming and missed calls, and they never called. I pointed that out, and she just apologized (not sure if it was an apology for no-show, for not calling or for claiming someone called when they didn't).<br><br>After more back and forth and me naming the person who took the payment--as two more weeks went by--they discovered that yes, they had taken payment! So I tried scheduling the work again... Guess what? Two weeks before they had an opening.<br><br>I let ARC pick the day & time for the work. They gave me a 1 hour window. Halfway through the scheduled window (during which ARC did not call, and no technician arrived), I called them, thinking I would confirm I was on the schedule and someone was coming. This was during their published business hours (after 8:00 a.m.) Their answering service picked up, and said that ARC's phones should not be forwarding to them because it was during business hours. The answering service did not have contact information to forward my call, but said they would submit a written message to ARC.<br><br>So, a second time, ARC no-showed.<br><br>It has been 8 weeks, most of which has been trying to get ARC to show up, which they have still failed to do.

Very bad service I called to gave us estimate one gentleman came he was saying sending an estimate an hour almost 3 weeks already no email from them so far.<br>Called after 2 days there office lady was saying she is going to check and call me an estimate but no response so far.

I first called ARC when 2 other companies tried and failed to get rid of the rats in my attic. They did a much more thorough assessment of my home, found what the others missed and fixed the problem. They did such a great job with the rats, I called last year when ants invaded. Kyle came out, explained to me what the issues were and how he would handle them and answered all of my questions with patience and professionalism. He was just terrific. The house was ant free for a year until a few days ago when they made their annual visit. Once again , Kyle came out and has taken care of the problem. ARC does a great job. They are reliable and thorough, and have representatives, like Kyle, who make you feel very confident in their abilities.

I've been using this company for nearly 5 years. They are less expensive than my previous rodent control company and I'm getting better service. I've had maybe three different guys service my house on a monthly basis and they've all been great. Kyle is currently handling my place and the man is very professional while personable. This is the type of employee every company should have staffed. I hope this review encourages others to use ARC because, selfishly, I want them to stay in business so I won't have use some other company.

Our property is bordered by a large hillside area that has lots of ground cover and trees. We started hearing quite a bit of rustling in the evening, and started noticing droppings in certain areas of the patio. After a couple day time run ins with unwanted rodents, we called ARC to explore options for exterior rodent control. I initially met with Jose, who was on time and very professional, to discuss the situation. He provided his advice and a quote. Another technician, Kyle, then came to install the bait stations a few days later. Again, he was on time and very professional. Within a week, we saw substantial results and have not heard or seen any of the unwanted guests since (at least not alive!). I dealt with a couple other rodent companies a few years ago for an issue at a different property. ARC was far, far superior to any of them. Very pleased.

The crew at ARC helped us with the problem that was nesting in the intake manifold of our car. Once the traps were set the rats disappeared.<br>The techs are personable and professional. Kyle has been checking our home for the last few months. He was able to provide new traps in short order after we replaced our fence.

We had a real problem with tree rats....for years...and it was getting worse. You could not sit in our yard without watching rat after rat run along the fence line. We didn't think anything would make a difference, there were so many rats. We had Kyle from American Rat Control come out and set traps and noticed an amazing difference, within weeks. We have him come on a schedule and we rarely, if ever, see rats in our yard anymore. He is doing a great job and always pleasant and helpful.

American Rat Control is great! I was beside myself when I started dealing with rats and roaches...two things I never have dealt with before. I called these folks and they were extremely helpful, knowledgable and friendly. They have gotten my issues under control and are always reliable! Great customer service!! They came out to inspect the same day I called. I'm very impressed with what options and warrantys were given to me. I'm happy with my inspector and the technicians did a great job. Haven't seen any rats in months! They also used oragnic bait for my ant problem! Will definitely use them again if those pesky rats or ants come back!
