Terrible company and customer service. Don’t waste your money

I hired Thermal Home Insulation after receiving four bids from insulation contractors in the winter of 2024. The first problem was insulation all over my blinds and in one of my bedrooms. The second problem was that the dumping trailer was left for days on my driveway and when the company finally removed it, there are now scrapes all over the surface of the driveway. The third problem was related to my cabinets which after addressed twice they're still substantially leaking air. They're still either hot or cold based on the outside temperature, but there are more holes in my patio where insulation was said to be blown in after I called. I make that point specifically because when I had walls removed in my closets this week, I found evidence of literally cutting corners. I paid for "filling in the attic, air sealing, and installing a radiant barrier" as it says on the work order. However, I don't know where those stop in the attic. I do know that they all stop at back of my house because I can see it now. I also paid for "remove old insulation and haul away," but can see that wasn't done either. I called on Tuesday (both numbers). I followed up via text yesterday. Radio silence and crickets. There is no lifetime guarantee nor is there customer service after you've paid for the project in full.

I hired THS to insulate my garage workshop. They did a terrific job, very neat and professional. Best of all, is the insulation is keeping the space so much more comfortable. I would recommend THS for any insulation project.

We triple-bid all our projects and Thermal Insulation immediately stood out as true professionals. They provided a thorough quote and talked through our options and their recommendations in detail. We then worked together to find the solution that met our needs (exceeded, actually) and worked with our budget. We used them for insulation top-up and air sealing. Their install team was very friendly, respectful of our home and tidy/clean. Best yet, within a day of the completed work, our home already felt--and stayed--warmer. I highly recommend Thermal Home Insulation to get the job done right.

I'm not giving 5 stars because it was a perfect experience. We actually had some sizeable problems initially. The reason for the 5 star review is because when things did go wrong, they owned up to it with no excuses and made it right. To me, that's the real mark of a quality company.

I'm a DIY guy, so I was planning to do all our attic air sealing myself with a bunch of cans of spray foam. After an hour, I knew I was in over my head, so I started making calls. Our experience with Thermal Home Insulation started off really well. Jim gave us a call to see what we were looking for and set up our initial appointment. Dale was our salesman who sat down with us and explained what they were planning to provide with their services. Their flyer showed a thoroughly air-sealed attic floor, which is what I was planning to do myself. The people I had interacted with all seemed like great people, so I was more than happy to let them take care of it for me. The fact that they were going to install a radiant barrier was a big bonus for me. The day came for install, and I was surprised how quickly they finished air sealing; it kind of made me nervous. Within a couple of hours, the radiant barrier was installed, and the insulation was blown in. They let me poke my head up in the attic while they were cleaning up, so I dug through the insulation to find one of the attic joists (top of a 2x4 wall), and I found that it was completely unsealed. I called up Jim, and I learned that for "air sealing", they turn off all of the lights in the attic and look for any light coming through the ceiling (attic floor) and seal up those gaps, which is not what the flyer showed and not at all what I was expecting. Jim explained that doing a complete air sealing would be much more expensive ($1000s) and would make a negligible difference. We were again unpleasantly surprised when, after they left, we found bits of blow-in insulation on the floor, in the closet with the attic entrance, on the stairs, on our front porch, along the driveway (blended into the snow), and even in our recycle trash can. We let Dale know what had happened, and they apologized for our experience. They sent us a $50 check to go with the apology. Overall, we like the people we worked with (Jim and Dale), but we definitely not 5-star impressed with the execution. Still, we like them enough that we have hired them to install replacement windows in our home, something they only offer to attic-insulation customers. You will not find a better price for new high-efficiency replacement windows. Jim (the founder) has the windows they sell installed on his own home. I'll update this review after that experience.

After working with Jim and Thermal Home Insulation, i would suggest anyone even considering talking to another insulation company, to reconsider. Jim takes the time to go through your home, address your needs honestly, provided an excellent thorough presentation, is affordable and offers the best products to bolster your attic with his Eshield(Attaches to your rafters) no one else does on top of the blown in insulation for your home. They were honest, professional, and overall did a wonderful job and were excellent to work with. We are very happy with the results, our attic temp dropped 45F+ instantly, we highly recommend hiring them.
