We had a terribly hot attic in the summer and Barrier Insulation applied radiant barrier paint to the roof underside. What a difficult task to accomplish to maneuver in such a restricted area and the guys made it look easy. They also added a significant amount of blown-in loose fill fiberglass insulation in the attic and garage walls. Their work is exceptional and I already notice a uniform temperature throughout the living area; before the extra insulation was added we had varying temps in different rooms. Looking forward to the summer. I’m grateful and recommend them any day. Nice work! Not a DIY project I’d attempt.

Be cautious. We hired Barrier Insulation to spray foam our attic. They subcontracted BW to come to our house without us knowing and they did a horrible job. I couldn’t speak to any of the insulation people because of a language barrier and then they completely blocked off our attic access. Now neither company will take responsibility in fixing the issue.

Barrier Insulation and Energy did a fantastic job with my attic. From the sales team to the installation team, I am very happy with the outcome. They cleaned out the old (thirty years, at least), insulation and started the foaming of my attic. They foamed the attic as well as my garage, my garage has never been so cool in the summer, and the house feels much better as well. The team of installers were very professional, cleaned up whatever mess they made. Management came by after the job was completed and found a couple of areas that seems low to him, had the crew come back out and touch up the whole attic. Barrier Insulation, Had amazing professionalism, punctuality, and effectiveness in improving my homes energy efficiency. We have had a significant temperature drop of 40-degrees in our attic heat. The Job was done in two days time. They removed my old blown in insulation and Sanitized my entire attic on day 1. 2.5/5 stars. We hired this company to remove old insulation, sanitize the attic, and install spray foam to address a rat infestation. While things began smoothly, the experience quickly deteriorated.<br><br>Initial Work and Concerns (Thursday)<br><br>The crew arrived on time, and we left to ensure our baby’s safety. Upon returning, our home was in alarming condition: insulation dust and debris—contaminated with rat waste—covered furniture, bedding, kitchen counters, and even food. The air was thick with fiberglass, dust, and animal waste clogging our air purifiers within hours.<br><br>Efforts to contact the office failed. We eventually reached Shane, who promised professional cleaning. Trusting him, we temporarily moved in with family(due to hazardous living conditions), expecting to be away only one night.<br><br>Cleaning Attempts and Delays (Friday-Saturday)<br><br>Friday morning, no crew arrived for the scheduled spray foam installation. Montana showed up unannounced later that day, wiping surfaces with a cloth but leaving much of the debris untouched. Meanwhile, we discovered our hallway light was broken. Shane again promised to address it.<br><br>The spray foam installation was delayed to Saturday due to a truck issue. While delays happen, better communication would have helped. Photos of the completed work looked promising, but the attic had not been sanitized as promised. On this day Shane assured us he and a cleaning crew would arrive on Monday at 10am. We were hopeful as we still were unable to safely return home due to fiberglass and rat waste covering our home.<br><br>(Monday-Wednesday)<br><br>On Monday, no one showed prompting another long day of unanswered phone calls and waiting for answers and clear game plans. Shane denied making the commitment for Monday morning, adding to our frustration. Donald eventually arranged upholstery cleaning and scheduled house cleaning for Tuesday.<br><br>The cleaning teams were professional and arrived on time, but when presented with a quote for full cleaning, Donald refused to cover it, “stating I don’t have enough money in the job”. This was disappointing. As a paying customer, you hope good business will prioritize more than just profit—Donald picked only a few services he would pay for to lower the cost. Thankfully after Donald left the upholstery company went above and beyond, knowing we had a baby in the home and the rat waste that was spread throughout our home by barrier insulation, they provided extra services they wouldn’t get paid for.<br><br>We finally felt comfortable to begin moving back home after what was supposed to be only a night away.<br><br>Shane told us that he and another crew would come to revacuum and sanitize the attic on Friday and he would check our hallway light as well.<br><br>Final Cleanup and Resolution (Friday)<br><br>On Friday, a crew arrived to re-vacuum the attic. Despite language barriers, the before-and-after photos were satisfactory, though we couldn’t confirm sanitization. Shane never showed to address the broken hallway light, which my husband ultimately had to repair himself.<br><br>Final Thoughts<br><br>We documented the condition of our home but chose not to share photos out of respect for the company. While staff made efforts, the overall experience was frustrating and disorganized. We hope the company improves its processes, focusing on communication and safe handling and cleanup for future clients.

UPDATE: since my initial review the owner came out to assess my attic. He actually crawled into the attic to do a proper assessment. Unlike the 2 shady, liars who came prior and literally just popped their head thru attic opening...trying to steal my $$ by telling me the attic was fully covered. Turns out only about HALF of the quoted job was done, so he adjusted the charge and apologized for the previous employees lack of due diligence. But he should of offered to fix the subpar job that was done. So I'm asking myself, is over half of the house not being done worth it? I think I wasted over $1100. Haven't noticed any difference in efficiency. Please have any insulators evaluate your attic before paying them and starting a project.

Barrier did my spray foam, open cell on walls and closed cell under the floor. Wonderful job, it wasn't done 100% correctly the first time and they sent some one out promptly to fix my issues. Would use them again.<br><br>***Update I hired them to come out and do a smaller job on my back porch. I paid half the upfront cost and waited for a while, nothing. So I called, texted and emailed and got no response from them. I was forced to reverse the charge on my credit card. I will leave the original review incase this is a mistake but I would be cautious from now on.

The Barrier Insulation guys worked with me to complete my requests and custom needs.<br>I appreciated strong communication and willing efforts to satisfy.<br>The guys were eager to do whatever was asked…my only recommendation to other customers is to be sure to ask for anything you need.<br>They worked hard to make sure my job was done to my satisfaction, even making a 2nd visit after I found some small spots I wanted touched up.<br>Thanks Barrier!<br>(Larence and Troy…thanks guys)

Michael and his team were phenomenal! They had to add insulation to the attic. They came in quickly, did their job, cleaned up after themselves (I am a stickler for that) and left quietly. I can already feel a difference. Super thankful and appreciative to their quality of work. Great job!

Called barrier insulation to come and look at my attic insulation. Mike (consultant) looked at my attic and told me that I was low on insulation. He scheduled his crew (Laurence and Anthony) To come over and have the blown in insulation. Barrier Insulation is AMAZING! Taylor is a dream to work with - she explained everything clearly, was flexible with scheduling when we had to make changes, and was a pleasure to work with. Anthony and Lawrence just finished up insulating our cargo trailer and did an amazing job. They showed up when they said they would, got the job done in a couple hours, and made sure that we were satisfied before shutting down their machine. Supposed to put in insulation for me on Monday- did not show up. They said they would be here today- they have not shown up. They have 973 dollars of mine and I have nothing. This company is not responding to me and their voice mailbox is full- gee what a coincidence. Unless I hear something soon I am filing fraud charges with my bank. BEWARE !!!!!!!!

A good experience with Barrier Insulation. We called on Thursday spoke to Taylor, asked about product and cost. She was very helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. So we scheduled for Friday, the next day. They did a great job. 👍

I hired Barrier for a new construction project, it was a great experience from start to finish. Taylor in the office did a great job explaining the bid and scheduling, Hector and Josh came out and sprayed the insulation and did a great job. I called Barrier installation because I had a 20+ year old Quansett hut that was leaking like a sieve they quickly got me on the schedule, the driver such a hard worker and a professional guy works so hard all day I did take two days to complete this job but it was a pretty big job. carefully wrapped things that shouldnt have product on it... they made sure that every bolt and seam had been covered to stop the leaking. it wasn’t long after the building had been sealed that we got several downpour rains. it absolutely worked. we also noticed a nice side effect that it made the building cooler inside. i’m excited to have added another 15 to 20 years on this already old building.

I contracted Barrier Insulation to do My 2 story west facing walls of our home. It now feels so much cooler and my electric bill is much lower. From start to finish it was a great experience. From the estimator fully explaining in detail the process, complete communication from the office, to a fast efficient professional field crew I could not have asked for better. And the end result was Amazing!

Very good experience. The sales staff made an appointment and actually showed up early after a courtesy call. They scheduled the job but we’re a day late because of equipment problems. During the delay, Fabian (the Forman) kept in contact with me every step of the way. I received 2 phone calls from management regarding the scheduling that was set up the next day. Fabian showed up on time and did a fabulous job. I really like the communication and the professionalism of this company. If you don’t use them, you are using the wrong company!

I was planning a remodel of my existing house and contacted Barrier to install spray foam insulation on the underside of the roof. Without having started any demo work, there was no need to see the site in order to provide an estimate. Instead I provided scaled architectural drawings with details in order to do a take off. I scheduled the install a month in advance. After speaking with the estimator to clarify any questions on the drawings, I never heard back from them regarding a final estimate. When I called in one week prior, I informed them that I still had not received an estimate and confirmed that I was still scheduled for install on the day previously confirmed. Two days prior, I called back again to reiterate that I had not received and estimate and was informed that I was no longer on the schedule due to not having signed a purchase agreement (for the estimate that I never received) and that the soonest they could schedule me was a month later. I immediately called Southwest Insealators, explained the situation and they were able to get me in the following day. As I am both an Architect and a Contractor, I will never use Barrier and will never refer any of my clients to this service.

Taylor and Fabian ( two guys that worked like four) insulated my garage overhead. I am more than impressed with the job they completed. The absolute worst. Hired them to spray foam ceiling and exterior walls. Came home to find one of their employees drinking alcohol at my home while working. Left cans and 50ml bottles all over my property. To make things worse they sprayed my brand new AC unit in the attic and made it completely inoperable. Had to replace the furnace, they’ve promised to reimburse me however I’m still waiting

I am very happy with them and the work they did. They were on-time, professional and did a great job. They even reattached one of my AC tubes in the attic that had come undone. Would definitely recommend them to anyone needing insulation.

I had an appointment scheduled with barrier insulation for over one month. 4 days prior to the scheduled service date I called the office, confirmed the appointment and confirm that the work would be done in spite of a scheduled winter storm. They assured me that the work crew would arrive on the scheduled date, complete the work and the weather for cast would not interfere. The morning of scheduled work the crew did not arrive, instead leaving a message that they would not being completing the work due to weather. I repeatedly called the company to reschedule and they never returned my phone calls. The company is incredibly unprofessional, leaves homeowners in the lurch, does not perform when, where and how promised. ABSOLUTELY DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY.

I can’t say enough good things about this company or they’re product!<br>I can’t think of anything negative at all.<br>My metal building went up a couple of months ago, and it was useful until it started warming up…you think your wooden attic is hot???<br>I really couldn’t do anything in the building during the daylight hours and it was loud with tinny echoes from any little noise inside.<br>This product is almost a miracle…it’s very impressive, in all aspects. I’m completely comfortable working inside the building when it 105 outside, the HVAC system didn’t work until it was insulated, and it’s off more than it’s on.<br>The wait time from calling to completion was less than all the other contractors involved with the construction…they treated me better. They put me on a waitlist and I got it installed 3 days from my initial call! Obviously this is not going to happen for everyone but it’s only a 2 week wait during peak season.<br>The guys who came to do the job I would also recommend. Nothing but good things to say about them too!<br>Customer service rates the best by me too.<br>I have already recommended this company and it’s product to everyone with a project coming up…<br>10 of 10 all around.

The guys were a bit late, but got it done quickly. Didn't put me out any longer than I expected. A bit pricey but delivered a quality product, cleaned up after themselves, were polite and professional. They actually wound up doing my neighbors' house the next morning, and he's quite happy as well it seems. I didn't even see an invoice until 4 days after the job was complete. Would recommend.

We did our Garage Attic Insulation and Drill and Fill with Garage exterior walls. Barrier Insulation does a professional job. I am very happy. Their prices are very good. They really work to make the customer satisfied. Wish them the best.

The main reason I came back to Arizona was because I found a good company to do the spray foam insulation on the underside of the camper. They arrived on time, did a very thorough job prepping and protecting the area, completed the job as detailed and cleaned up like they were never here!! These guys are the real deal in terms of how they conduct their business. I was in escrow selling a condo and buyer wanted attic insulation removed, the space sanitized, and new insulation installed due to evidence of prior roof rat activity. Barrier was able to squeeze me in within 10 days, graciously dealt with an HOA snafu, and was readily available by phone throughout the project, with Chris and Jacob always knowing immediately what was going on. (So often these days we're dealing with receptionists who have to just "take a message" before your question can be answered!) For any family or friends needing a similar job in the future, I'd recommend 1000x over.

I had some insulation put in my house. IT took about 2 hours. Pretty happy with the job they put quite a bit in. Had a miscommunication with the owner Rick on what work was supposed to be done but he worked it out with me and was very accommodating. Would recommend to who may be interested .

Rick and his team are top notch. Very prompt with the quote and did not try and up-sell the job. Worked with me to align on the scope of work for a sealed attic foam conversion and complete removal of 50 year old dust and rodent debris laden blown in fiberglass. They advised to not foam inject the block walls given their construction and the sealed attic would be sufficient. Crews were two father and son teams. Crews arrived on time, were courteous, kept me informed, cleaned up afterwards and promptly took care of the few and minimal clean up items they missed. I tipped the entire crew as such customer focus is rare these days. The foam job is awesome. Two “hot” rooms are now the same as the rest of the house, 90% of the house dust is gone, the AC runs much less, my allergies are much better, and the house is quieter. How do you put a price on your health? Foam is not cheapest insulation option but definitely the best value when you consider all the factors besides utility savings. I spend a lot of time at home and Barrier made my home much more livable and comfortable. Thanks guys!

The best experience with Barrier Insulation.. Rick was amazing from the start to the end.. He was able to get me schedule in a timely manner.. the two gentlemen that showed up were very nice and professional.. They even cleaned up after themselves when done.. I was so impressed with their work ethic that I called Rick Back to do my other garage and guess what, same work ethics and great people skills as the first time. Oh and they also cleaned up after themselves too..<br>Rick showed tremendous integrity when I Accidentally repeated the payment.. Rick called me to check my bank account and returned the funds.. WOW! What a great experience from start to finish. After reading all the great reviews this was the only company we looked into. Not only did Rick answer our call immediately on a Monday morning, but service was provided three days later; we thought for sure with summer being here we'd have to wait weeks.<br><br>We couldn't have been more pleased with the service we received! The gentlemen that came to the house were on time, very friendly and professional to boot. The installation took no time what's so ever and when we thought "Oh no, what a mess they made!" they cleaned almost everything up (still needed a woman's touch, lol) and we couldn't believe it. We were thoroughly impressed.<br><br>We have been going on a little over 24 hours now and what a difference our upstair's temperature is. We're glad we waited for the right company to fit our needs, but man why did we have to wait so long! Thank you Barrier for an excellent job and we'll definitely be giving out your name and number!

Replied right away. Nothing hidden unlike other companies I called. Straight forward. Explained options. Didn’t pressure to do the more costly and better, just gave info. Squeezed me into the schedule couple days later. Workers were nice friendly and respectful. Worked quietly. Cleaned up nicely. Thankful for my (small) tip. Totally recommend!

Rick and his crew were awesome to work with. I called on Friday in early afternoon to get a quote for the work I needed. I asked a few questions regarding the project and to get their input on what truly needed to be done to help keep my house cool. I could quickly tell that not only did Rick know what he was talking about, but he wasn't trying to upsell me with any product that I didn't really need. By Saturday they called to schedule an appointment and by that Monday the crew was here for work. They were very punctual, and actually showed up before the arranged time to start the job. The crew was courteous and respectful of our space as we were home with a young child. They made quick work of the job and were only here for a couple of hours and could barely even tell they were here after they left!. Would definitely recommend barrier to anyone looking for quality and honest work!

Today I had insulation blown into my attic by Barrier Insulation. They were early for my appointment (per my request) which worked out great for me. The job was done in a very timely manner and they were very thorough. They did a good job cleaning up afterwards. This is my third time using them and they get 5 stars in my book. Rick is very easy to work with.

With short notice and working around each other’s schedules Rick, the owner of Barrier Insulation, and his crew pull off the near impossible, they removed my old blown-in insulation just in time for the HVAC team to install my new heating and cooling system.<br><br>Jeff who headed up the insulation removal team, hustled and worked with the HVAC guys to keep on schedule. While insulation removal is a messing and thankless job, Jeff and his crew never complained and kept the mess to a minimum, cleaning up after themselves as they worked.<br><br>Once the HVAC system was installed, Tommy and Jake took over and completed the insulation job by spray foaming my entire attic in just under two days; again cleaning up after themselves and leaving the job without any mess.<br><br>For anyone else out there thinking about spray foam insulation, there are a lot of contractors out there selling and installing their product. I knew little about spray foam before I started, but once I did the research I was convinced it was the only way to go for the weather we have in Phoenix. More importantly, the “Open Cell” spray foam material Barrier Insulation uses had the best reviews on the internet.<br><br>Regarding Barrier Insulation, I did the research on them as well before I contacted Rick for an estimate. They were highly rated with both the Registrar of Contractors (ROC) and the Better Business Bureau (BBB), both giving them high ratings. High ratings and how quickly Rick and I were able to lock in on a schedule made them the best choice for my work. I may have paid a little more based on the estimate I got from other companies but well Barrier Insulation was well worth the added expense.

We just used Barrier Insulation to add insulation to our home and garage ceilings. Rick answered my first call within 10 minutes, discussed my options, we agreed on a price, and scheduled the job immediately. Kyle and Jacob did the job. I thought my dogs would bark all the time but, no, only a couple of times at a sharp noise.<br>Kyle showed me the before and after photos he took of the job. He mentioned that if I contact you you may share them with me. I would appreciate copies of the photos when you get some time.<br>Over all I was impressed with the two young men and their work ethic. And, yes, the garage was as clean after they finished as before they started. I will recommend your company to anyone I come across that need insulation installed.

Customer service was great. They were out when they said they would be. I had special issues that needed to be addressed because of space issues in my roof and they worked with me and got it done. House is a comfortable temperature because the insulation works well.

Went with the roof deck spray foam insulation, best decision ever. After they removed the cellulose and 3 decades of Arizona dust storm dust, they basically sealed the attic area completely with spray foam. We used to have a cricket problem, now they can’t get in. We used to have the typical super-hot garage, now its air conditioned because they spray foamed the garage roof too! We used to have hot and cold rooms, now every room is about the same temperature, so nice. We used to have to dust every week or it would pile up thick, now we never have to dust, the air is so clear in the house – amazing.

This is a guy that's on point! I can't tell you how many energy efficient/environmental insulation companies I have spoken with and they either do not know what they are taking about or they will try to sell me something only because the product they are selling is what they specialize in. The last most recent company I had spoken with tried selling me an air conditioning unit when all I really needed was insulation and duct work repairs. Rick has even had the honesty to direct me to another specialist because he knew another service would be more cost beneficial than a service he had to offer. He has insulation down to a science and as myself being a good judge of character; I can tell you that without a doubt, Rick is in the best interest of the customer. If you want the honest truth at a very reasonable cost for insulation service, this company is hands down the way to go. You guys have saved me thousands of dollars and thank you!

Barrier Insulation completely rehabilitated my insulation so that it was all to the proper depth. When the energy auditor returned and found a couple of corners where the insulation was lacking, they returned, at no charge to fill the space. The crews were pleasant, on time and cleaned up the areas where they worked each time.

Actual work done was excellent, timely, and the technicians were very communicative about what they were doing at each step and about how long to expect each step to take. Scheduling was a bit of a nightmare and involved a lot of miscommunication, but I attribute that to having too many points of contact through our contractor, Barrier Insulation, and flu season having a lot of employees at all businesses out of the office. They did go above and beyond to try to correct their mistakes.

I returned from a great summer of fishing at my cabin in the upper peninsula to find some unexpected squatters, critters, had taken up residence in my attic. They’ve been evicted but they left a mess of my attic insulation and it needed replaced. I called around and immediately found Barrier Insulation the most responsive and helpful. I was able to get a price for the removal, decontamination, and reinstallation over the phone and they didn’t try to get me to replace all my insulation, like another company (grrrr). Danielle kept me up to date during the whole process and was able to make their schedule fit mine. They were in for the removal at the designated time the first day and gone with narely a trace (if you didn’t look in the attic) after the install the following day. They made a crappy situation (literally) much less worse than it could have been. Kudos! Highly recommended!

We had our uninsulated sheet metal duct runs insulated in our attic. Miguel (the spray tech) came out and spent 8 hours spray foaming all of our trunk lines. I cannot say enough on how amazing this guy is. He is a hard worker and delivers amazing service.<br><br>Barrier Insulation gets my vote for a great insulation contractor. Christian and David showed up on time for the appointment and were two of the most courteous young men I have dealt with in a long time. They got right to work and stayed with it (even in this heat) and when they left there was no indication they were here. Clean, competent and courteous. I recommend this service highly.

They did am amazing job insulating my house. It has saved me a ton on keeping my house cool during the summer, and no need for the heater in the winter. They were on time and it was definitely a great price. Overall they did an outstanding job. Would recommend to anyone.

This is the tough case story where Barrier stuck it out until the bitter end in order to satisfy the customer. I unknowingly had a leaky roof that understandably made the insulation foam smell. Rick got a general contractor involved to help track down the problem and is even going to replace the wet foam at cost for me. Barrier is a seriously amazing business that stands behind not only their excellent work but the overall value expected. I'm really glad I read the reviews and hope this helps other customers make their choice as well. I'm not a review bot, Barrier is legit.

I had Barrier extract my existing blown in insulation one day followed by installing attic foam insulation the next. There were different crews each day but both crews worked hard and performed an excellent job. My only concern afterwards was some debris left, fallout of the spray foam but Rick took care of this. Each day the team arrived on time, performed their work and cleaned up afterwards. Great Job!

I really wanted to be able to write a good review. Our initial experience was good, Rick called right away, responded to all my questions, gave me a quote on the phone that seemed reasonable, told me that the price is before any discounts and i should look at their website. Everything was great. Two days before our appointment he called me to ask if they could come out the day before the appointment because they had an opening, I said we have to leave by about 7:15 (our appointment was at 5). He said, ok, never mind, won't work. We left it as is. The evening before our appointment he called again to tell me we are being rescheduled to later because they are going somewhere else at 4. I wasn't happy, now they were coming between 8 and 9. That meant wasting the middle of my day. It only got worse. His guys didn't show up until 10:30. Seriously???!!! And I didn't get a call to apologize, no, instead, I had made the mistake of buying their groupon - pay $50 for $100 insulation. Mind you, never did it say it can't be combined with other offers, so I was happily thinking they'd give me their $100 off discount plus the groupon value of $50. No, after the two hours the guys spent blowing insulation, they called Rick who told them only one, well of course I had to use the groupon, otherwise that $50 was a waste. I emailed Rick telling him that I ended up with $50 off and not $100, basically penalized for buying their groupon. It has been 4 business days and not a word from him. Somehow it doesn't seem like he cares much after he has gotten your business, not as far as keeping a schedule or making sure his customers don't get penalized.<br>REVISION: Rick followed up with me after coming back from vacation. Luckily, it turned out, he wasn't ignoring my concerns, he just hadn't read them yet. He even offered to refund the $50. My opinion of him as a business owner changed for the better. Thank you, Rick and crew, for doing the insulation in our house!

Really great service from this company and I'd highly recommend. The only issue we had was there was some confusion about when the crew would come out to blow our insulation. Rick contacted his crew, and instead of going home, they came all the way out to our house and put the insulation in the attic. That was great service from a company that understands the importance of customer service.<br><br>The crew was friendly, efficient and cleaned up the wisps of insulation that happened to float out here and there.<br><br>Highly recommend

Friday, April 4th, 2014.<br><br>I would have liked to have met Rick, but he had business in Litchfield Park. He sent Mario and Joshua out to our home this morning. These guys worked very hard and did a great job. Mario actually did all the inside work and you could tell he was very skilled in his trade.<br><br>If I didn't know Rick was the owner, I would have guessed it was Mario because of his high work ethic and desire to please.
