I highly recommend Koala. Jody and his team did a great job blowing insulation into my attic. Jody came to my house for a consultation where we walked through the attic and discussed the issues I was having. He talked me through all the options and what was necessary vs what I could do for even better heating and cooling. After the consultation, he quickly got me on the books and his technicians showed up at the scheduled time and got the job done quickly in under three hours!!! I had Koala Insulation of NTX do the following service on my home: removal of old blown-in insulation, air sealing of top plate penetrations and seams and drywall penetrations, and addition of new blown-in insulation. The job went smoothly and quickly, but there are a few positives and negatives that I'd like to point out. Hopefully this will be helpful to the company.<br><br>Positives:<br>- This was the most competitive quote I received for this work.<br>- My questions were answered promptly. They were able to provide multiple different quote options in a very timely manner. They also provided the option of cellulose or fiberglass for blown-in; others only provided fiberglass as an option.<br>- This quote provided was one of the few that included top plate to drywall seams for air sealing; most others did not do this, or considered it extra work.<br>- The installers vacuumed up after the work was completed.<br>- The work was overall very un-intrusive to my family life in the home.<br><br>Negatives/Areas for improvement:<br>- No drop cloths were put down on the floor surfaces around the attic entry, which meant insulation materials could work its way into the carpet. Considering that the cleanup vacuum is just with a simple wet/dry vacuum hose without a carpet attachment, this leaves the burden of in-depth fiberglass cleanup to the homeowner.<br>- No drop cloths were put down over furniture and no corner guards placed around door/wall corners, which meant that the insulation removal and blowing hose left scuffs over furniture and trim surfaces.<br>- Air sealing lacked attention to detail; I found multiple penetrations, some large, that were either missed completely or were not completely filled with foam. And it also appeared that they might have ran out of foam towards the end.<br>- The work includes recessed can light covers, but they appeared to just be haphazardly placed onto the top of the cans with a large gap around the bottom and no air sealing whatsoever. They told me that this allows the fixtures to be serviced if needed, but it seems extremely counterintuitive to the goal of air sealing everything when recessed cans are among the biggest contributors to air leakage.<br>- With review by a thermal camera, I noticed there were a few areas where insulation was missed or not filled up completely.

Trent Hunter came today to give me an estimate for cellulose insulation. It took only one day for them to come for an appointment. I had someone else in the day before for a different type of blown in installation. He flat out told me I had plenty of installation and it would be a waste of money to add more. He said what I needed was an attic fan. I so appreciated his honesty. I am definitely getting the fan and would recommend this company to anyone needing their services.

During a recent remodel project, we chose to use Koala Insulation. There were some special circumstances with our project including inspections related to energy reports and they handled it with ease and knew what was needed.<br><br>The work had to be done in 2 stages (batt and blown insulation) in order to meet the energy report requirements but within those parameters, the work was done promptly, the crews and company owners/representatives were respectful, and left our property clean. Would do business with them again!

I had some insulation sustain some water damage from a recent storm. Koala was quick to respond, very professional, and transparent throughout the entire process. They did a great job the day of the insulation replacement and were very friendly. Highly recommend if you need some insulation work!<br><br>Update: Unfortunately I sustained more water damage from spring storms those year (2024) due to a compromised roof that my HOA has failed to replace after being damaged last year. However, when it came to replacing my damaged insulation, I knew I could trust Koala to get the job done and they did not disappoint! Jonathan and his crew did excellent work removing all the old insulation and replacing with new blow in cellulose. They were on time, very professional, and knocked out the job in good time having me check progress every step of the way. Koala-ty work! From estimate to finish, this was among the best companies I have worked with. The ability to schedule an estimate and approve services without having to be on the phone was very convenient. Communication was top notch during the entire process. Turn around time from approval of services to installation was quick. Installers were professional and very good at their job; we were appreciative of them coming out on a hot day. If I could give them 10 stars I would! Koala Insulation of North Texas was flat out awesome! The first thing when they arrived for the quote was tell me that I already had good insulation and only had a few hot spot that needed to be filled. All other companies that came to give an estimate to re-due my entire house instead of just the parts that needed filling. I really appreciated that they didn't try to over sell me unlike the others as their estimate came in more than 50% less. John the tech was also awesome, he really looked out for me! They got me up to the R49 standard in under an hour! Can't say enough good things about my experience!

Not only was our original insulation old and only a couple inches thick, there were now places that were completely naked from the remodel. We had a couple quotes and picked Koala. Not just because of price, but the attitude and professionalism of the owner. Trent was great, friendly and prompt. The Techs that showed up were just as friendly and courteous as Trent. Right from the first contact through job completion this company knows customer service as well as how to communicate. This is almost unheard of anymore and other companies could learn from them!<br>When getting the estimate from Jonathan, I felt he was very knowledgeable and listened to what I was looking for instead of trying to ‘hard sell’ things.<br>He was able to work me into his schedule and he and Gonzales arrived on time and proceeded to get the job done. But his workers said it’s not added in the estimate and didn’t do it.Both Roderick and Jonathan were excellent.

I called up Koala Insulation of North Texas for a quote and they came right out. There were two guys that came out and they evaluated my attic.<br><br>Out of three separate companies, Koala came out at the bottom end on price. However, the salesman said I should just pump more insulation and not seal the attic. Hence, the cheaper price.<br><br>I didn't end up going with them (going to delay another year). I will consider using them again when I need insulation.

They blew in insulation in all 5 of my attic areas to bring it up to 12 inches from the existing 3 or 4 inches as part of my ADT solar installation. Very friendly and responsive. When the installers didn’t clean-up as well as I would have liked them to and I gave them that feedback, the owner personally came out the next day and completed the vacuuming and clean-up. Very satisfied with the overall results and would highly recommend them to anyone needing insulation work…

Terrible service. Hose to remove and install roof insulation thru our home to arrive was patched with tape in dozens of locations and some leaked dust inside. No protection of our walls and railings. Worst was I found the hvac duct knocked off the vent so it was wide open to attic. Also the knockoff the vent from our gas fired hot water heater and insulation fell into the flue duct directly into the heater. What a mess! Don’t use this company!

Although we could not do business, the staff was went out of their way to help me understand the cost associated with removing insulation in my home so I could determine remodel budget. I was sold on the idea of replacing my old rock wool insulation with new cellulose insulation rated at R-38 and insect proof by Terminix. The work was done by Koala Insulation of North Texas. The company is family owned and the owner’s name is Trent who is extremely conscientious about the customer’s concerns and the work ethics of his employees. If you hire Trent’s company, he has your back until the job is done right! I highly recommend Trent’s company, because of him!

Unfortunately, there was miscommunication in koala backend, technician arrive at day of service 4 hours late. I had to cancel attic fan installation service that day due to medical emergency in evening. I would though recommend Koala better communications to update customer because 4 hours delay is quite a lot and all i got after early morning 2-hour delay notification was survey text message.

I contacted them about adding some insulation to my attic to help hold temperature better and when they visited they said the insulation looked good, but I could probably use an attic fan to keep the temperature down. I didn't even consider that before, so I am really glad they suggested it and didn't charge me for something I didn't actually need. I worked with Ryan and he was very honest and straightforward, which I appreciated. I would not hesitate to work with them again.

Had a rodent problem in the attic. They came out and gave an estimate, that was very reasonable, to remove old insulation and seal all holes for entry by rodents and reinsulate the entire attic. They were an hour early for the appointment and got the job done in a day. Can't even tell they were here since they cleaned everything so well. First of all, they do solicit reviews, which I find a little irritating, so there's that. I guess it's par for the course these days though. Having said that, I am reasonably happy with the work they did. They also made a real effort to make sure I was satisfied. If I had need of their services in the future, I would have no problem using them again.

Koala provided insulation for our home. They were timely, professional and clean. There was a small accident when one of the workers slipped and broke through the ceiling but they have made the repair and overall pleased with the outcome.

Koala insulation came out to my house to give me a estimate because my master bedroom is always hot in the summer. It was determined that my bedroom was well insulated and nothing that they could provide would be cost effective. They did recommend getting in touch with an HVAC company to see if another vent is needed. Koala insulation was honest and I would use them for an insulation job in the future.

First, this is a company committed to service and understands what it is to be a concerned homeowner. The Koala team stepped up by opening their doors earlier than anticipated due to the hardships of the February 2021 Winter storm that hit the DFW area. They began to take calls to help out those of us who needed to assess what we could do to ensure we have a way forward despite extreme cold and heat. I made the call per a Facebook notification within my community. I purchased a brand new home in The Colony and coming from very cold parts of the country, I realized that the newly constructed home was not insulated for the extreme cold nor for my benefit in the severe summer temps yet to come.
