Koala Insulation of Denver

Catastrophic equipment failure, inadequate remediation, hustled for full payment, home forever dusty We hired Koala Insulation Denver North for an attic insulation project. During installation, their equipment failed catastrophically inside our living space, blowing cellulose insulation and fine dust throughout our newly renovated home. While the crew stopped work and they brought other crews to help in about 2-3hours, the initial cleanup the following day was not restoration-grade and resembled a surface/maid-style cleaning rather than proper post-contamination remediation (LME was the "professional" grade cleaning company). Multiple additional cleanings were required, including third-party carpet and upholstery cleaners but were still not adequate and were clearly the cheapest possible options. Even after these efforts, some furniture was permanently damaged and required replacement, but the real problem has been the remaining dust that is relentless, settling on surfaces daily. The fineness of the insulation is immensely pervasive and inescapable, invading every inch of the home. The constant dusting and dealing with clothes, dishes, carpets etc being covered in a thin layer of insulation has become exhaustive. This happening in our newly renovated home is beyond frustrating. We requested temporary hotel accommodation during the initial cleanup period and were explicitly denied, with the owner citing “job margins” and characterizing the material as “non-toxic.” The owner refused to provide their insurance information. It was clear that the owner wanted to protect margins and not go through insurance, hence remediation effort being done as cheaply as possible. Despite the equipment failure and ongoing remediation issues, the owner demanded full payment, assessed late fees during an active dispute, and the owner coming to our home 4 different times to serve us a lien when we were away. Payment was ultimately made under pressure to avoid a lien and collection escalation—not because the situation was resolved to our satisfaction. We escalated the issue repeatedly to Koala corporate and Empower Brands (parent company) over the course of more than a month and received no response. A BBB complaint was filed; the business responded but refused to acknowledge unresolved damage or disputed charges. If you are considering this company, understand that if something goes wrong, you may be left to manage the consequences yourself while still being pressured for payment. The insulation itself may get installed, but the handling of a serious on-site failure was deeply disappointing and stressful. I strongly recommend choosing a different insulation company. If their equipment fails in your home, you'll be fighting alone.

Work quality did not match what was sold *All of these issues were only discovered after digging up and checking their work. If you are not knowledgeable about how critical air sealing is, you would likely never know they didn’t do what they claimed* 1. Air sealing was minimal despite being told the entire attic would be air sealed. The company used photos of existing fireproofing as proof of work and later claimed that “covering a single electrical hole satisfies the contract.” 2. Main attic was insulated to R-60, but the side attic only reached R-48. 3. Baffles were quoted, but the ones used were the same height as the insulation, risking airflow blockage. No baffles were installed in the side attic. 3. Installing new insulation over poorly air-sealed areas now makes proper air sealing much harder and more expensive. On top of that, they are not offering real solutions, just pushing calls with higher ups that go nowhere and waste time. They did show up on time and had good availability, but that doesn’t make up for the poor execution. The sales pitch sounded great, but the results didn’t match. I wouldn’t recommend this company, take your business elsewhere.

I couldn't be happier with my decision to go with Koala for my home insulation project. Kayla came over to give me an initial quote on my project and she was INCREDIBLY thorough with her initial estimate. She took a ton of pictures, explained what she thought we should do and gave me a detailed breakdown of prices and options. This is after I had a handful of other companies come out to give quotes and they didn't spend anything over 5 minutes before naming a price. One guy didn't even go up into my attic! I decided to have all of my old insulation removed because it was dirty and insufficient. Also, by starting with an empty attic, I could have Koala do an air sealing project for me as well. Andy and Enrique came over to do the removal and they were amazing! They were thorough and made sure the job was done right. I had a couple of weeks between the re-install to do some electrical work, but I had some additional questions come up. Kayla was incredibly responsive to my emails and answered everything additional I could ask. She really made me feel comfortable with my decision to work with Koala. Andy and Enrique came back a couple weeks later and did the air-sealing and re-insulating in one day. They were real pros again and were super considerate and efficient with their work. Those guys are incredible! In the weeks since getting the air sealing and insulation done, our furnace has barely even turned on. Our house is holding heat better and I imagine our bills will be reduced because of it! If you are thinking about getting insulation done for your home, don't waste your time calling anyone other than Koala. Their work is top-notch, communication is excellent, and they even have financing options that aren't an absolute pain to deal with. Kayla, Enrique and Andy are all amazing and I can't recommend them enough!

Great Service!!! I was reaching gout to a few places for insulation for my attic and Koala was the first to respond to get me an appointment next day. Kayla showed up on time and was very thorough with the estimate, as well as all the discounts and rebates we qualified for. When the team showed up, they were fast to set up, and make sure my house was lined in plastic to make sure the fiberglass didn't make a mess. The team took a lot of pictures before and after to show what my attic looks like now. Kayla kept in touch with me after the service was complete and made sure we were happy with the work. When the bill was sent, there was a mistake on it, but the office took care of it and fixed it. I will be referring Koala to anyone that asks for a recommendation.

From bid to install to fixing a bathroom fan to properly reach outside at no cost, professional operation. Cost comparable or less after rebates vs 2 other bids. Recommend

In evaluating at least five bids , for my upgraded needs. In order to bring my R-code for attic insulation up to standards; it’s worth noting that from beginning to ending of my project “ Koala Won the Bid “ ! Also let me might add that, I analyzed every option that meant my needs.

My 1972 ranch home had the original 4-5” of fiberglass insulation which I have been putting off adding more till I found the right insulation company to do the upgrade. Having a kitchen in-line exhaust fan, radon mitigation fan, and 30” whole house fan in the attic, I wanted to ensure easy access to such as well as for future inspections. All the companies I questioned, suggested just stepping on the recommended additional 12” or more of blown-in where the ceiling joists are, packing it down and forming a walkway. I didn’t like that idea, and wanted something elevated, to not disturb it. I went to the “2025 Denver Home and Garden Show” and the owners Corrie and Tanner, who, when I described my needs, offered to build a suspended catwalk and showed pictures of past projects. They answered my numerous questions correctly, in my opinion. Corrie, who does inspections and quotes gave me a ball park including the catwalk. A week later, she thoroughly inspected my attic, pointing out the opportunities and went over my options, including an Xcel gas rebate that I might qualify for, etc., with obvious experience and skill. Also, I was offered an upgrade to an insulated self opening/closing cover for my whole house fan, which would still be a source of heating/cooling loss after blown-in insulation around an open box. I agreed to the attic fan custom add-on, and catwalk. Corrie set me up with an appointment 1 week later for her to perform the pre/post blower door and water heater CO etc. tests for the rebate and to ensure safety after sealing the attic, and for Isaac and crew to complete the job in one day. Everything about my experience was 5-star, appointment text notifications, knowing what they were doing, asking the right questions, having the answers to mine, and especially the work performed. I took the day off from work to be at home while they performed the work, and liked everything about my experience with the crew. Highly recommended, and very happy with the results. Here are some photos I took after they installed the catwalk, above and below before the blown-in, then the same afterwards to 16.9” for R-60. I don’t have a photo of the auto opening/closing insulated hallway house fan yet, but can see the results from within the house visually looking through the lower louvers, and with my ir thermometer, comparing before and after temps.

They were very thorough during the estimate, and Corrie provided plenty of information and answered all of my questions. We needed about 15” of insulation across two attics, wnd added a solar attic fan as well, and the team was efficient and very polite and professional. I had Koala do a blower door test and then seal and insulate the attic from my 1960s home, something the home definitely needed! They did a nice job—in and done in about half a day. Courteous and fairly priced, and they also applied for my rebates from Xcel. I’ve noticed my furnace running much less frequently than before. Hopefully it will soon show up in lower bills too!

I could not be happier with my experience with Corrie, Tanner (owners), Isaac (the site manager), and their team. Many vendors from down in the city are reticent to come up to the mountains (Conifer), but they were happy to be here. They gave a fair estimate; communicated well before, during, and after the job; were kind and polite; and did great quality work. I will absolutely be hiring them again for future insulation projects! A couple of anecdotes from the project: (1) At one point they encountered a section they were to be insulating that had a leaking pipe. They notified me immediately and told me of the plan they had worked out: they were going to leave that portion open while I got a plumber in to fix the leak, leaving their scaffolding behind to help out my plumber, and then come back to finish the insulation job and remove their scaffolding after my plumber was done. This came at no additional cost, and it was easy to reschedule the last visit. (2) The house is ~30 years old, and they were working on exterior pieces. As a result, they found a number of wasp nests, a bee hive, a couple of old mouse nests, and possible one chipmunk nest. They removed all of these carefully and without complaint (or injury) and let me know where they found them and what the consequences of their removal might be. I'm a first time homeowner, and a job like this is completely outside of my realm of expertise. All of my interactions left me feeling confident in my decisions, like they were doing great work, and like I was NOT being taken advantage of for my inexperience. Phenomenal. 10/10, will hire again.

I had three companies come in to give a quote for our attic insulation and air sealing — I went with Koala because they 1. Had the same price range 2. Could do the job in a week 3. Explained how the xcel energy rebates would work and told me about using the upgrade as a tax deduction 4. A friend had a positive experience with their work I also highly recommend Koala. The workers were very efficient, professional, and communicative. There has been a significant improvement with our insulation since the job. Before, if it was 95 outside, the inside of the house would hit 85 by 4 pm even with the central air on all day and set at 76. Now, even when it is 100 outside, it is actually 76 inside.

We were very pleased with the work Koala provided from start to finish. When Corrie & Ryan came to the house to provide an estimate, they were very thorough in their assessment and explanation. They answered all of our questions and worked closely with us and Xcel's Whole Home Efficiency program to ensure we understood everything and received Xcel's offered rebates. On installation day, they were timely, professional, put down plastic to keep the house clean, thorough and followed up to make sure everything was done efficiently. We are already noticing improvements and would highly recommend Koala.

Everyone we delt with at Koala was extremely professional. When our house hit 87 inside when it was 95 outside we knew we needed professionals and fast. Ryan came out within two business days to give us a quote. Our attic had very little insulation at that time, but they were booked until the second week of July. After getting a couple other quotes, we got on Koala's schedule and we were prepared to wait. Our attic left an impression on Ryan as well because the day after we signed the contract he called us saying there was a delay with another project and that the team could be out there the very next morning. The men that came out to complete the project were hard working and professional even with the extreme heat they had to deal with. They left my house cleaner than when they arrived. We are so glad that they were able to squeeze us in because the very next week hit 102 degrees. Koala is worth every penny we spent with them.

Overall, we had a good experience with Koala Insulation. They installed our insulation on a day that was 102° outside. We were a little concerned about the technicians being in the attic with the heat, but they still did a very good job..

We recently had 3 walls, the ceiling, and our door insulated in our garage. Corrie was wonderful and worked with us to provide service that fit within our budget. Installation only took one day, so there was no inconvenience for us to be able to park our cars in our garage. There were a few issues that came up during and after the installation, but I contacted Corrie the next day, and they came out immediately to make it right. I was impressed with the way in which they reacted to our concerns and the time in which they responded. Things don't always go right the first time, and problems can come up. From the beginning of my experience unitl the end, everyone at Koala has been a pleasure to work with. Initially I had worked iwth friendly and knowledgable estimators who helped every step of the way in the process to craft an estimate which worked best for me. On the install day I had an extremely freindly pair of technicians come by and were a pleasure to have in the home. Courteous kind and clean these two worked hard all day but things did run a little over due to some unexpected hiccups but it wasnt a problem. The Next day the owner himself came by as well to come help and finish up the work. He explained to me what the other issues were and really put in the extra effort to get it done right. I really apprecated all the extra work throughout this entire process.

We are extremely pleased with Koala Insulation. They were in constant communication from start to finish. Very competitive pricing. The quality of their craftsmanship shows on the awesome job they did installing the closed cell spray foam. They protected the new driveway and garage floor and left the garage extremely clean when they were done!!!

Corrie and Tanner squeezed me within a week of me reaching out. They came on their Saturday since they were booked out for the week and knocked out 1000 sq Ft of insulation removal in a day. I got multiple quotes from other companies and their quote was fair and transparent upfront with no surprises. They showed up on time, were completely professional and friendly, and worked hard right through the hot afternoon despite sweat drenching temperatures in the atic. Would happily hire them again and would absolutely recommend!

These guys did great work insulting our basement ceiling. They were on time and cleaned up the mess from the blown in process. The only thing that I would recommend is that they don't put a first coat of drywall mud over the holes they drilled out. I had to wipe down alot of excess mud before it dried.

I had gotten a very high quote for an insulation job from another company - $5,000. The other company was associated with a pest service I had used recently and claimed that I had a problem with mice and bugs in my attic and that I would need to address the problem before it got out of control. When Corrie came into my home and checked my attic, she did not see any evidence of a rodent or bug problem, and while she gave me some options for work they could provide, she was also honest with me that she did not think I necessarily needed to do any work at the time. I really appreciated the second opinion, and her straightforward and honest approach. If I do need insulation work in the future, I know who I’ll call!

Korrie (Sales) and Tanner (Owner) were absolutely fantastic to work with. We had a few concerns after the install and Tanner was kind enough to come out personally to address them. We couldn't be more satisfied working with Koala!!!

Really impressed! I’m not normally one to post reviews, but we used them as a second opinion for an insulation quote and I was extremely impressed with Corrie’s knowledge and overall skill set. They were so amazing to work with our busy schedule. Corrie showed up right on time, completed our attic area inspection and was able to answer all of the questions that our first inspection (with another company) had left us with. Removed blown in insulation for me and did a killer job. They underestimated how challenging of a job it was going to be since they couldn't see all that they were dealing with in the attic due to all the existing insulation but never the less they busted tail and got it all done. All I can say is WOW! The Koala team knocked out out of the park! From the initial estimate to install, this is a true team of professionals. We were replacing 30-year+ insulation and knew we’d see immediate returns on the investment. We opted for max full, Solar fan, attic entry door cover, and immediately we noticed our heating and AC were barely running. The team was super nice and kind, working hard during an unexpected snow storm. They left my home and exterior clean and made really quick work of it all. I recently got several quotes from local contractors to air-seal my attic and to bring my attic insulation up to R49. I went with the team at Koala and they did a great job at a fair price. Corrie was super helpful during the quote process, answered all the questions I had, and was super nice to my dog (very important). CJ and Isaiah were also great during the service. They arrived right on time and thoroughly cleaned up once everything was finished. Highly recommend!

As really impressed with how thorough, efficient and tidy the team was with our garage renovation. Greg provided me with a number of estimates which allowed me to weigh up the pros and cons of different methods. As a result I saved over $1000 and the office is toasty warm. Koala insulation was wonderful to work with! They were super responsive, courteous, and always willing to work me on scheduling. They showed up on time, did the work, and cleaned up after - so easy! We had insulation installed in the ceiling upstairs. There’s no attic access so they had to cut holes in our ceiling which I was nervous about, but they had all the tools to do it with care and they patched up the holes before they left. Major difference in our upstairs temperature now!

We used Koala to insulate our attic and they did a fantastic job and all the staff were excellent. I would highly recommend them to anyone needing insulation for their house.

Great company to work with. They installed the spray foam to specified parameters. A few sections were short of parameters at first but they quickly and without hassle corrected the issue! To me that is just as impressive and being perfect the first time! I highly recommend them!
