These guys were very efficient and kept me up to date of each step of the project. Starting with Silas arrival to scope out the level of effort and give a quote. He was extremely enthusiastic from the get to. Not only that, but he took a good amount of time to walk me through all of the issues that we have and what Home Shield can do to remedy them. Lastly, provided an itemized quote and indicated which work could be optional if need be which is excellent customer service. Secondly, when Antonio arrived with his team to complete the service everything went super smooth. Just answered a few questions at the beginning and then a few hours later the work was complete. Afterwards, Antonio took time to walk me through the before and after photos which was assured me the work was completed. Would highly recommend this company for any attic insulation needs!

Out of 3 contractors they were lowest price. Hired them for crawlspace encapsulation and installing a sump pump. I give the workmanship a 3.5/5 and the project management a 1.5/5. They were back at my house at least 6-7 different times and had to communicate with 3 different people. I got the first invoice 2 weeks before they finally completed the sump pump as quoted. My wife would probably rate them lower but I understand that they're a growing contractor. Still.... Not an excuse for poor project management and bad communication. I pray they honor their warranty. PAY ATTENTION TO THEIR WORK AND INSPECT AFTER THEYRE DONE. DONT TRUST THE PHOTOS. Silas and Joseph need to get on the same page before saying work is completed.

We had Jon over to get a quote to remove old insulation, air seal and install new insulation. While not the cheapest, I felt his company would do the best job. Very pleased with the final result and the house is staying much warmer! Heat didn't even come on last night as it stayed above 65 all night! (It was 41 outside, house is 30 years old) I would definitely recommend this work and will call them again if I need other work. Michael

In honor of this heatwave , I feel it’s time I share my glowing customer review for Home Sheild Insulation. (And fwiw, I am not related to or personally connected with their company in anyway…just a genuinely happy customer!) Our 20+ year old home is a little over 2000sqft. We had 3 different companies out to inspect/work on our air conditioning unit because our house was over 80+degrees inside. Even overnight was awful and the idea of cooking in the house was laughable. After going down the rabbit hole for who could help us figure out the necessary steps for making our home livable again, we thankfully found Joseph and his team. Not only did they find and repair issues the A/C guys missed, but y’all…I wear a sweatshirt in my house most mornings, because it’s genuinely chilly! And when I set it to 67 or 73 or 78 it actually goes to that number like it’s supposed to! Even at 2pm during our hottest week yet. Same ol’ house. Same ol’ a/c unit. But with a PROPERLY assessed, insulated, and encapsulated attic and crawl space, with top of the line materials. From what I recall, our specific job was in the $10k ballpark (which ain’t nothin, and it’s a hard leap to take if you’re not confident in your crew…) Hence why I am writing this unsolicited review. 1 year later, I can confidently say it was worth EVERY PENNY.

The crew at Home shield insulation absolutely reworked my attic. They worked efficiently and were in and out without damaging a thing and left no trace of dust. They completely took out all previous insulation and sealed every air duct, can light, electrical socket, and sealed up the airspace. They then added back insulation and went above and beyond to make sure our upstairs is ready to handle the hot Charlotte summer!

Revised: the company reached out and offered to cover the expense of the furnace repair. Very much appreciated and they live up to the 5 star service guarantee. While most of the insulation job they did was great, they didn’t pay attention the our furnace and covered the pump on our furnace, this cause our pump on our furnace pump to get clogged with insulation and brake. Had to pay $400 to replace our furnace pump

Joseph was very knowledgeable about the job and made the whole process of our job smooth and easy. They had to redo the supports under our house that were being held up by bricks and small pieces of wood. They also cleaned out everything and installed a vapor barrier and dehumidifier. We can really feel the difference in the comfort level in the home after they got done. I would definitely recommend them.

Home Shield Installation provided a very professional service to our home. They were given the task to install new insulation to our attic. The attic became the home of a few annoying bats. The bats really made a mess in the attic. In addition, to the insulation, cleaning up the bats mess, installing a chemical produce to keep all pest away, and installing wire coverage to keep unwanted pest out. The team made sure that all debris was removed. Home Shield’s communication to me concerning the project was also excellent. Home Shield did a truly amazing job on the encapsulation. The end product was clean and professional. Home shield also redid the insulation in the attic vacuuming out all the old fiberglass. Sealing all fixtures and chimney before blowing in new insulation. They also installed an insulated access door cover. They went above and beyond by sealing the attic vents with new screening. During the consultation I was skeptical of the claim of saving 20% on my overall utilities, but there was an immediate noticeable difference in the overall comfort. and now after several months, there is a noticeable difference in the amount of savings on my monthly utilities. This was an extremely large job and was done expeditiously. I am very happy with the quality of work that was preformed and would highly recommend this company for all your insulation needs. I will definitely use them for all my future home needs.

I have a 110 year old house that had rotten attic insulation and a vented crawlspace. A newly installed heat pump could not keep up. Joseph and Carter inspected my home, performed a blower door test (which was so bad results were difficult to determine), and created a plan to remove and replace all attic insulation, and encapsulate my crawlspace. All attic insulation was removed and replaced with cellulose. My crawlspace had the vents sealed, all pillars and sides wrapped, and obvious holes air sealed. A dehumidifier was installed. A second blower door test at the end of the job showed huge progress. The difference in heat pump run time was immediately obvious, and savings will add up over time. Home Shield Insulation stands behind their work. Two issues, one involving cellulose coverage in the attic, and another involving dehumidifier warranty repair, were reviewed and worked by Briant over the six months following the installation, both as covered by warranty without charge. Highly recommend the company and team!

We moved into our house at end of July and had termite treatment and new insulation installed in the crawl space as part of the sale agreement. Unfortunately we discovered the insulation was installed incorrectly and could lead to further issues with water damage in the crawl space. After contacting Home Shield Insulation, Carter met with my husband to explain what we needed and their process. He checked with several other companies and we were most comfortable with Home Shields’s process. Everything was completed in the promised time line. Briant and his team worked quickly, cleaned up the area when finished and we are very happy with the results. We will be using Home Shield Solutions to redo our attic insulation once we finish remodeling.

We had our attic completely reinsulated by Home Shield Insulation and are very happy with the result. The job included complete removal of existing insulation, sealing and then installation of cellulose. There are several reasons why Joseph and his team did a great job. First, they were very transparent about issues and possible remedies. Joseph presented various price structures so we could do the job in stages. Second, accountability - they use a system of pictures to document the work, including sealing, that makes sure nothing is missed. They also invite you to inspect after sealing to make sure you are satisfied. Lastly, service - they go out of their way to make sure you are happy with the result. UPDATE: Was contacted this morning by Briant first thing asking to get in touch to remedy the issues. He brought over a whole home dehumidifier to try and remedy the smell issues. Will update again after everything. PREVIOUS 2-star review: I really would love to leave a glowing review because they are nice people...but the quality of work is just not what was promised from the sales pitch. After getting scheduled for about a month out (had to contact them to get it scheduled after paying, no one ever reached out after I approved the work) I had old attic insulation removed, air sealed, and new cellulose blown in. The first thing I noticed was the smell, which has still not gone away. I was weary to use cellulose but was convinced to use it and promised there were no adverse issues or smells...which my whole house still reeks 2 weeks after. As far as the quality of work, luckily I went up and checked everything because I never received the work photos...but many things that were promised were missed and a huge mess was left on the decking and in the AC (and my existing attic cover was ripped). After talking with the owner, workers came back and tried again (they did fix a few things including the cover) but still did not do everything promised. I texted the owner a third time with no response. I know the company is fairly new, but there is no excuse for over promising something you can't deliver and not following up for the amount of money this costs. Now I will have to call in another company to deal with this smell and unfinished work.

Excellent job from Briant and the twins, they dealt with bad weather, hot conditions, and got the job done in a day. Theirs is a VERY NOTICEABLE temperature difference on the top floor of my house where it used to be 7-10 degrees warmer than the bottom floor, it is now the exact same temp. Highly recommend Home Shield.

Home Shield had great communication. We recieved the estimate same day. They showed up on time. The crew was very proffesional and knowledgable. Briant and the twins were great! They were the only company that talked to us about how important air leakage and the stack effect were for our comfort. Carter, the estimator, was definitely an expert. We had been uncomfortable in our new home ever since we moved in 5 years ago. We have had numerous insulation companies come out to assess why we were so uncomfortable only for them to tell us they saw no issue with the insulation or anything else. We discovered Home Shield, and as our last resort called. Carter came out and inspected our home and found a ton of air leaks especially around the HVAC duct work. We knew we had problems and finally someone listened to us. They were quick to come out and do the work. It turned out to be a big, hot, dirty job; but through it all everyone was always pleasant and seemed very happy.to be there and doing their work. I was very impressed that Joseph (the owner) came out often to check on the job and was also very hands on when he was here. We finally have a very comfortable home, the temperature is fairly constant throughout, no matter if we're upstairs, downstairs at the front or back of the house. Competitive price and top tier service. My home is now like an icebox in the summer. Our home was built in the 60's. HomeSheild removed the 60 year fiberglass from the attic and blew in cellulose. The gentlemen who did the installation did a great job overall. There was some type of "Blowout" during the process, which resulted in an enormous amount of dust in my house-- HomeSheild promptly corrected the situation by hiring a maid service to ensure a thorough clean up. I am highly impressed.

The attic in the 130-year old section of our farmhouse was invaded by a family of raccoons this past winter, and over the course of three months, they made quite a mess of our insulation. Joseph, the firm’s founder, was quick to respond to my call for help. Within a few hours, Joseph laid out a remediation plan, including the removal of all the insulation, sanitizing of all the areas that the raccoons inhabited, sealing of all the recessed lighting fixtures that light the living space below the attic, sealing of all wiring and plumbing openings, including cracks between Sheetrock panels and walls left by carpenters years before. And, most importantly, Joseph prepared a plan to close up the raccoon’s entrance at a point where the roof soffits were improperly engineered years ago. Within a few days, project leader Ben and his crew carried out the work with extreme attention to cleanliness and completeness. All the old insulation was vacuumed up and rolled up, all the dirt and debris removed, the entire attic sanitized, every crack and opening sealed, and then new closed cell cellulose insulation blown in. Ben even put depth markers throughout the attic to confirm the proper insulation thickness. And, when they departed, everything was cleaned up with perfection. Wonderful job by professionals that were friendly, knowledgeable, and very respectful of me and my property. They installed foam boards on one side and cellulose on the other side and above the ceilings. They also air sealed all openings. I can already feel the difference and they only finished an hour ago!

Home Shield provided a great service. Joseph explained well the proposed home sealing and attic insulation options and a detailed and digestible quote. Home Shield ripped up our old attic floorboards, removed the minimal old insulation, added raised flooring to replace the attic storage and filled the attic with cellulose. It has been almost a month since the project was complete and we’re already feeling the benefits with our AC running significantly less. Joseph was a great communicator the entire way.

Joseph and his crew did an awesome job on air sealing the attic space and adding blown-in cellulose insulation in our 30-year-old two story house. It had original batts insulation and was leaking air pretty bad from the downstairs.

I needed a company on less than 24 hour notice to do a last minute attic insulation job for my house to pass its final permit. Joseph to the rescue! Joseph read my inspection report and knew exactly what to do. He was there the NEXT DAY, and sent pictures when done. During the final inspection, they determined that the HVAC ductwork needed foam insulation added. Joseph returned the very next day, at no additional charge, to add the extra insulation. We absolutely recommend using these guys. Our home was drafty and cold and we couldn’t figure out why. We called thermal shield and scheduled an energy audit with them. They came to the appointment on time and did an in depth energy audit. We found out that our attic floor had not been properly air sealed when the home was built.
