Reviews
I recently used Austin Contracting Services to provide warranty work on a home I had built four years ago. The linear fireplace that they had installed quit working, and our builder contacted the company for me. Our fireplace repairman, David, was unequivocally outstanding. He came out three times within a month after diagnosing the problem, then finding out the new replacement that was ordered was defective, and finally getting the fireplace to start after his persistent troubleshooting. David was doggedly systematic and remained dedicated to fixing the problem, taking it almost personally when the first attempt to repair it (through no fault of his own) failed. This is quintessential extraordinary customer service and for this above all else, performance such as this will ALWAYS be five-star in my book. Thank you David and thank you Austin Contractor Services. Bravo Zulu!
Very good customer service
No over night ,gates get to be closed by 5 pm. No room outside the road. It’s residential road.Get a spot if you going to be late, before arriving. Early morning their trucks all Over the lot give a them time to get to their destination as well . Good people Easy in and out.
Called Victor he let me come in a day early...then fork driver is fast thumbs up
One star because the people here are nice, but otherwise management needs to manage this place way better, one forklift to unload 4 trucks.and when I asked where is the forklift guy they say he went to eat breakfast at 8:30 am lol, 😂 this is ridiculous, our time is valued too, once am unloading here I need to drive to Dallas to pickup a load and you guys making me very late with this kind of stupid management
Some good some bad from a truck driver making a delivery. Nixon drive is tight and if traffic is heavy would be hard to make the button hook to get in and there's next to no truck parking in the area but neither of those things are the fault of this company but things to keep in mind. It was pretty busy when I got there (7:00 for a 7:30 appointment) and I had to wait for all the small trucks and another semi to go ahead of me. Everyone I talked to was really nice. You will have room to straight back into one of the two docks to used to unload. I didn't get out of there until 10:30. No clue how long my trailer was empty before I went and checked, I had to track down the forklift driver whom again was really nice, to get my paperwork so I could leave. No idea what happened there, maybe he just forgot to get my attention or give me the paperwork when he finished or maybe it was just odd timing and I peeked in the back just after he finished? IDK.
By far the most incompetent contractor experience I've had in my 15 years in Austin. Not their field installation guys....their sales office. I ordered a standard gas fireplace in August 2023 and found out 3 months later that they never placed the order, which delayed us another 6 weeks. Once the fireplace unit was installed, we requested them to install the trim pieces and log set 2 weeks before Christmas just to learn they ordered the wrong materials and you guessed it, another 6 week delay from the manufacturer to order. Here I am at the end of January 2024 without a finished out fireplace. Were supposed to finish out today, but they gave no time window for arrival for us to anticipate to let them in, so we missed them and now have to wait until Monday. And given the endless mistakes over the last 6 months, I'm sure we still have more problems to deal with before we say we're done with this company. Consider yourself warned.
GOOD company.
Great place to deliver, nice people, I got there early and they took me,
The contractors truck driver was driving wreckless and pulled out in front of me in our neighborhood almost causing a massive collision. My kid was in the car as well. Their carelessness is unsurprising reading the rest of the reviews of their company.
This company was hired by our home builder to add insulation to our attic after some had to be torn out for a leak. Several months ago, they showed up at 8 a.m. on the dot with no warning call—even though we stressed the importance of this—and wanted us to help them find a parking spot. Even though there is no way to get a straight shot into our door, much less all the way into the attic, they insisted they had to have a certain space, which was on a public street. We weren’t told in advance, so we hadn’t reserved it. They offered to cut a chuck of insulation and throw it in the attic with the existing spray insulation, but we were not comfortable with that. They were unable to reschedule until Jan. 3. On that day, our appointment slot was 11-3. At 2:30 I called the company and after several minutes, they said the truck had broken down on the way and the crew hadn’t called us, nor the front office with that info. Today, Jan. 10, they again were supposed to come 11-3 and call first. The scheduler confirmed that with me. They showed up unannounced at 9 a.m. The crew also seemed confused about the parking spot we blocked for them, so I was left wondering if that wasn’t a necessity and we were left waiting months for no good reason.
Heads up. The street that the business is on is a narrow country road requiring a button hook to turn onto the street. I made it to my appt a day early, simply because there wasnt any truck parking on my route. The ppl were friendly enough & they only took an hour to unload me. If you're delivering insulation the docks will be on the 2nd right & you'll be able to do a sight sided back.
Takes too long to unload, kind of tight, be safe drivers
Just watched a road rage incident with one of their service vehicles. Can’t imagine trusting people with that temperament in your home!
Their trucks are a nuisance on the road. I have personally seen them run cars off the road and harass drivers. Speaks volumes of their character.
Very rude to work with. Unprofessional and leaves job site a wreck. Good luck to the unfortunate person who calls them next.
I called every fireplace outfit there was to help me light my fireplace. All of them said that they wouldn’t service it unless I purchased from them. Finally a gentleman called me back and told me to call Austin Contractors Services. To my surprise I spoke with Ted who agreed to send someone out. Thank you Ted and Ryan!!! David came to my home an fixed my fireplace in 10 minutes!! He knows what he’s doing and had the fireplace up and running. I highly recommend this company. Fireplace and Patio wanted me to buy a whole new fireplace which would have been thousands of dollars. David found a dead bug in the pilot that was clogging it from being lit. Bravo team!!!!
Slow to unload tight area and blind side backs
Austin Contractor Services was working in our neighborhood, the driver failed to enter a code to obtain entry through our gates, he just drove through and broke the gate. We have contacted the Regional Mgr. Wayne, numerous times, he claims they cannot pay by check or cash, he only has credit cards. Our neighborhood management company cannot process credit cards - so Wayne will not pay. Really? He will no longer return phone calls or respond to texts. Your driver damages personal property and you just do not pay? Terrible customer relations. Zero integrity. Think twice before getting involved with this company.
excellent
Get no response.
Very slow when they are unloading the trucks
Justin from Austin Contractor Services just made my day! Justin was servicing a home across the street from my daughters house when I went outside to search my car for 2 checks I had written. Justin asked if I was missing something and handed me a rain soaked check that had apparently blown out of my car. He then helped me find the other one in the drain across the street. What a super nice guy!
Great classes! Very welcoming environment
Hired them to install gutters on a custom home I was building. They were unable to install gutters on the 2nd story without a safety anchor installed. That's fine, but after my roofer was out several times to install and then move the anchor to a location of their satisfaction, they still refused to install gutters. Again, if they don't like how the anchor is installed that's fine, but after several trips out by my roofer and they still weren't happy, I told them they need to install the anchor to their satisfaction or I'd have to fine another gutter company. They refused to install the anchor and were therefore incapable of performing the services I needed. The most annoying part is I asked them to install the 2nd floor gutters before the concrete tile was installed on the lower roofs. This way, they could have used ladders to reach the 2nd floor roof edge and wouldn't need an anchor. They refused to do that too. In my opinion, this company is not capable of bidding gutter jobs on roofs with tile. They don't have the ability, or knowledge, to do so. It took me an extra 5 weeks messing around with the roofer and this company trying to get the anchor installed. And in the end they did not have the capability to finish the scope of work!
Mike just left after replacing the electric switch and hard wiring the ignitor for my natural gas fireplace. Mike explained what he was doing and the reason why he chose to hard wire the ignitor. He patiently answered all of my questions so that I would be able to clean and maintain the fireplace in the future. Michelle and Mike were pleasant to work with and I know who will be called if I have any other issues with my fireplace. Thank you so much for the exceptional level of service that you provided this week. BTW, my home is almost a year out of warranty and ACS did not charge me for this 15 minute service call.
